Up for bid is my 2006 Ford Mustang premium GT. It has the 4.6L 3V V8 engine with a 5-speed manual transmission. The car is performance white with red/black leather interior and has the Shaker 500 stereo and most of the usual creature comforts such as cruise, tilt and power windows. I bought this car new in Jan 2006 and have owned it ever since. It has 7,631 miles on the odometer. Non-smoker. Clean and clear title. Despite the low mileage, the oil has been changed at least twice a year with Mobil One synthetic. The car has a variety of performance upgrades highlighted by a Kenne Bell twin screw intercooled supercharger kit set at 10psi of boost. I also have the kit supplied 8psi pulley.

The cosmetic condition of the car is near excellent in my opinion. It has been adult driven and garage kept since the day I took ownership. I have been caught in the rain in it 3 times. The paint overall is in excellent shape with a few blemishes here and there. The side skirts, front and rear bumper covers have normal expectants of imperfections for a lowered street driven car with wide tires and an aggressive tread pattern. Exterior upgrades include: Classic Design Concepts ducktail spoiler, Classic Design Concepts C-pillar scoops and has the corresponding cloth inserts in the interior to give a factory look, painted mirror covers, shorty antenna, satin aluminum fuel door and custom running horse pony in the grill.

The interior condition is near mint, only very light wear on the driver seat as to be expected. Interior is mostly stock with the exception of the Hurst Billet Plus shifter and push button start which is not required to start the car but is functional. In other words, the engine will still start using the key. Aftermarket floor mats, aluminum pedal covers, UPR polished aluminum window switch plate covers and polished aluminum radio dial. It also has a triple A-pillar gage pod with: boost, fuel pressure and a digital tachometer with shift light. Note: the Auto Meter digital tach is unreadable as several of the lights are burnt out but the shift light functions.

This car has excellent street manners and drives very nicely. The Kenne Bell tune that was supplied with the supercharger kit was ditched in favor of a custom dyno tune performed by Ken Bjonnes of Modular Depot in Cincinnati, Ohio. This was done mainly to improve throttle response as the then new, electronic throttles in these cars were notoriously bad for lagging. If curious, the car made 454 rear wheel horsepower and 430 ft/lbs of torque. Included with the car also is an SCT Excalibrator 2 computer programmer.

Other upgrades include a full JBA exhaust system that features ceramic coated 1 5/8" long tube headers feeding into a 2.5" JBA high flow catted H-Pipe that feeds into the factory mid pipes and lastly out a Flowmaster American Thunder axle back exhaust. It is quite loud under acceleration but definitely tolerable when cruising. Car also has a Centerforce Dual Friction clutch kit and a Fidanza aluminum flywheel. Sits on 18" chrome Bullitt wheels that are deep dished in the back. Tires are BFGoodrich KDW 2 series and the rear set have less than two hundred miles on them. Rides on Eibach pro lowering springs kit. Also upgraded was a complete rear axle assembly from Ford Racing. It is the same axle that comes stock on the current Boss and GT500 mustangs and has 3.73 gears, a bump up from the factory 3.55's. The axle also has a finned rear differential cover for cooling purposes, 31 spline axles and the axle housing itself is painted matte black, nice touch I thought. This upgrade was performed in March of this year along with new rear BFG KDW 2 tires and powerslot rotors with Hawk high performance brake pads on all four corners. The front tires do show signs of wear compared to the rear ones but are still in good shape.

Other things that come with the car is a California Car Cover Noah style cover and a plethora of literature including Kenne Bell order forms and kit information, all receipts for upgrades, 06 mustang literature booklet from Ford, all included factory owner manuals and both sets of keys. I also have the window sticker but would prefer to keep it for sentimental reasons but would part with it if its important to a perspective buyer. I have tried to provide as much information as possible but if their is anything I have missed or you would like to see a specific photoed area of the car, please ask. All in all, I have over $13,000 invested in upgrades to the car. In closing I think I should make mention that this car has not been beaten on or abused. I bought the car when I was 25 and am 32 now. I primarily used the car for cruise-ins and weekend cruising with the occasional standing stop run through the gears or some hot rodding around town to run an errand. No side stepping the clutch from a stop or sustained high rpm, high speed interstate runs. It is a strong running car and I'm very confident in the condition of it. Thanks for looking. Can be contacted at anytime on the weekends or after 7p.m. EST at (859) 771-5903.

Saleen previews new 302 Mustang

Thu, 03 Jul 2014

The introduction of a new generation of a model like the Ford Mustang may be exciting enough in its own right for enthusiasts, but that's just the tip of the proverbial iceberg, because you know that Ford itself as well as numerous aftermarket tuners will soon follow up with even more desirable versions. And few Mustang tuners carry quite the same clout of Saleen.
Recently reunited after its previous split, Saleen is back on the map and hard at work on new aftermarket modifications for a wide array of muscle cars. We knew it would only be a matter of time before it would release a new 302 Mustang, and now it's sent out the first image to show us what to expect.
Details are scarce, but House that Steve Built says the 2015 Saleen 302 Mustang "is perfectly positioned as the next American exotic." And it should know, considering that it's the same outfit that produced the Saleen S7 that really was a true American exotic. From the teaser image above we can see that Saleen has given its Mustang a new front air dam, a very wide air scoop on the hood and of course Saleen's trademark slat grille.

Shelby to auction 2012 GT350 No. 1 in Vegas

Thu, 19 Sep 2013

With Shelby preparing to wind down production of its brutal GT350, a 624-horsepower Mustang that's meant to go up against the Roush Stage 3 in the world of tuned Ford ponycars, the Las Vegas-based tuner is looking to give back to one lucky customer. It'll auction off the very first GT350 ever produced, at the 2013 Barrett-Jackson auction in Las Vegas, a three-day event that runs from September 26 through September 28.
The GT350 is a monster, with a 5.0-liter, supercharged V8 that's been tuned well past 600 horsepower in a time when Ford's own Shelby-branded GT500 barely reached 550 horsepower. The GT350 is much louder than Ford's effort, too, both visually and audibly. The wide body look isn't what we'd call conventional, but on a car that sounds and goes like this, something extreme is needed. According to Shelby American's vice president of production, Gary Davis, "Carroll was very excited about the new wide body option, so that was included on this car. It's the first 2012 GT350 serial number from our anniversary year. It is a very special car." Wilwood brakes, a massaged suspension, and some very fat, sticky tires add to the Shelby experience.
This particular GT350 will be lot number 750, and will cross the Barrett-Jackson stage on Sunday, September 28.

DoJ fines Japanese parts firms $740M in massive automotive price-fixing scandal

Fri, 27 Sep 2013

Nine Japanese suppliers have pleaded guilty in US court over charges of price fixing in the automotive parts industry, resulting in the Department of Justice doling out a total of $740 million of fines, according to a report from Bloomberg. The scandal, which has resulted in General Motors, Ford, Toyota and Chrysler spending up to $5 billion on inflated parts and driving up prices on 25 million vehicles has sent the DoJ hustling into investigations. "The conduct this investigation uncovered involved more than a dozen separate conspiracies aimed at the U.S. economy," Attorney General Eric Holder (pictured above) said during yesterday's press conference.
As the investigation stands, the DoJ has issued $1.6 billion in fines against 20 companies and 21 individual executives, with 17 of the execs headed to prison. Deputy Assistant Attorney General Scott Hammond said, "The breadth of the conspiracies brought to light today are as egregious as they are pervasive. They involve more than a dozen separate conspiracies operating independently but all sharing in common that they targeted US automotive manufacturers."
Big-name suppliers indicted in the investigation include Mitsubishi Electric, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Hitachi Automotive and Mitsuba Corporation. A list of fines and other corporations named in the investigation is available at Bloomberg.
