Up for sale is my 2004 Mustang GT 40th Anniversary Edition with a clean title. This was the last year of this body style. I am the second owner (carfax shows this) and have been a Mustang enthusiast since the age of 13 and have owned/restored a handful of them. Unfortunately I am going to be traveling on the road for my new job and will need a four door car for the next couple years. This car has been tastefully modified and doesn't need much else to make it perfect. I have poured a lot of money, time and sweat into this car making sure that everything was done perfectly and with the best of parts. I have NEVER seen another Mustang on the road like it. The body has 97k but the engine/tranny and driveline has been upgraded or rebuilt. She was tuned by AMP performance, a late model mustang shop out of Phoenix Arizona. I am sure I will be forgetting some items, but here is a run down of the specs off the top of my head:
ENGINE
Engine was rebuilt at about 60k miles using high performance parts by the previous owner. I don't know exactly what was used on the rebuild as I purchased the vehicle from the dealer. Since I purchased the car I replaced the entire cooling system (radiator, upper intake, water outlet, overfill tank, hoses), spark plugs, pullies, power steering pump, power steering lines etc... The motor has no leaks and runs very strong. Has a regular oil change every 2500 miles with full synthetic. Has not been on the Dyno but is estimated to be about 380 horsepower. I have the SCT handheld Programmer (cost me $450) that holds the custom tune along with the ability to self tune if you want it to get better performance or better gas mileage. The tuner will go with the car.
TRANSMISSION
Tremec trans completely rebuilt about a year ago by Chuck Hawk Automotive (Mustang specialty shop out of Tucson AZ). This transmission has less than 20k miles on it and operates smooth. They used the best parts and hasn't leaked a drop. When it was rebuilt Chuck also replaced the clutch with a Spec stage 3 clutch and new cable.
DRIVELINE/REAR END
The driveline was fully balanced with new U-joints about 6 months ago. The rear end is upgraded to 3.73 gears (gets off the line very well, has some great response and still gets good gas mileage).
SUSPENSION
The entire suspension (everything!) was replaced 6 months ago using the best of the best. Eibach Springs, shocks and struts were used along with Eibach front and rear sway bars, Steeda X2 ball joints and tie rod ends, along with polyurethane bushings all the way around (All bushings were replaced!). Steeda Caster/Camber plates were also installed so you can achieve a perfect alignment with the lowered suspension. Also took the time to paint a lot underneath the vehicle while the suspension job was being done. $4000 was spent in parts alone on the suspension.
WHEELS/TIRES
Upgraded wheels matched with top of the line tires all the way around! 275's in front (brand new), and Nitto 315's in the rear. The car looks mean from the rear with all that rubber!
BRAKES
Pads, rotors, and wheel bearings were replaced about 6 months ago at the same time as the suspension. Brakes smooth, and steers straight.
EXHAUST
MAC exhaust with 3" pipes all the way back from the headers. Very "throaty" sound and gets a lot of attention and smiles when I fire her up or tap the gas.
INTERIOR
The black and tan interior is mainly stock and in excellent condition (Drivers seat showing some slight wear). Has an upgraded shift bezel, an aftermarket cd player, cobra floor mats.
EXTERIOR
The exterior paint is in great condition for being 9 years old. There are a couple small items that will need to be addressed on the body that I simply do not have time to fix. The clear coat on the upgraded side scoops is oxidized and some cracking, the body shop quoted me $250 to have it taken care of. Then I had a truck back into the rear deck lid in a parking lot (hit and run) and slightly cracked it (body shop said $150 to fix, or $75 if they do the side scoops at the same time).
WARRANTY: There is an extended warranty on the vehicle that still has 2 years or 70k miles remaining (Which ever comes first) and covers a lot of the vehicle. Warranty is fully transferrable and will be signed over to the new buyer.
This is a vehicle that has been worked on with the intention of keeping forever, but plans change and I will have to let her go. It has never been taken to the track or raced. It would make a great daily driver, weekend cruiser or street/strip car. The car passed AZ Emissions (Smog) testing and is currently registered in AZ, but located in San Jose CA. I can work with you on arranging shipping. The car is being sold as-is, please ask any questions before bidding.
HAPPY E-baying!

Lincoln Aviator could make a comeback
Tue, Jun 9 2015The idea of Lincoln dropping its alphanumeric scheme in favor of real names was welcomed by fans of the marque and even appeared possible after the rousing reception to the Continental concept. Now, rumors suggest that the next of the luxury brand's nameplates to see a possible revival just might be the Aviator. Don't get your hopes up quite yet, though. The Truth About Cars admits that this tip comes from a second-hand source, but the person reports that Lincoln has a project codenamed Aviator as a model based on the Explorer. There's evidence to give the rumor some shaky support, though. Ford already has the trademarks for the name and AV8R. Also, an Explorer-based vehicle in 2019 is included for the brand's predictions in the recent Car Wars forecast. Autoblog reached out to company spokesperson Sam Locricchio, but he would not speculate about future products. The same source claims to The Truth About Cars that the Blue Oval might not replace the Ford Flex or Lincoln MKT when the current generations come to an end. Also, the next-gen Expedition and Navigator could use 10-speed automatics and follow the F-150 to get aluminum bodies, which is also already rumored. Although, all of this should be taken with a big grain of salt until anything more official has arrived. Lincoln spokesperson Stephane Cesareo gave The Truth About Cars no comment on the rumor, but said, "By 2020, we expect to expand the segments that we participate in by adding two new nameplates to the Lincoln brand. We have not provided any indications about the products or their names." Related Video:
Chris Harris pits Fiesta ST against Mercedes G63 AMG in 0-60 battle... sort of
Thu, 01 Aug 2013Vehicle performance tests are serious business, with reputations made or broken by things like braking distance, top speed, and lateral g-forces. King of the metrics, though, is the 0-60 run, which for unknown reasons has become the benchmark for what truly makes a car a performance machine.
Now, Chris Harris from Drive has turned the whole idea behind the sprint to 60 on its ear. Taking a new Ford Fiesta ST, Harris asks a simple question: would the ST be quicker to 60 on its own, or on a trailer being towed by a Mercedes-Benz G63 AMG?
It's a fair question, really. The Fiesta Harris tested hit 60 in 7.2 seconds on a slightly uphill section of runway. It should be noted that Harris quotes his ST at 182 horsepower, which is about 15 ponies less than what we're getting in the US, so these numbers might not hold up all that well against an American model. The G63 AMG, meanwhile, is a 536-horsepower monster, powered by a twin-turbo V8 that, able to propel the big SUV to 60 mph in just 5.2 seconds without towing a Fiesta.
2016 Ford Focus RS may yet be AWD, US sales likely
Fri, 29 Aug 2014When it comes to forbidden fruit, few vehicles are spoken of in as hushed a tone as the Ford Focus RS. The turbocharged, five-cylinder hot hatch could only be seen from afar by American customers as it tore up the roads of Europe. And while it's safe to say that Ford's Yankee fans are quite happy to now be on equal footing with drivers in the old country thanks to the Focus ST, we doubt there'd be much protestation over a successor to the RS arriving stateside.
Of course, we've seen images of the new RS undergoing testing, but a new story by Road and Track aims to fill in some very large blanks in our knowledge of that car, thanks to a pair of mysterious insiders at the Ford. Chief among those is this - the RS will almost certainly make its way to the US, albeit in limited quantities. It gets better, though.
Under hood, the new RS is unsurprisingly expected to borrow the 2.3-liter, turbocharged four-cylinder from the 2015 Ford Mustang and 2015 Lincoln MKC. While that twin-scroll turbo produces 310 horsepower in the Mustang and 285 ponies in the MKC, R&T expects the RS to deliver quite a bit more firepower - 325 to 350 hp, with preference going to the higher output due to the limited-edition nature of the RS. This roughly fits with previous reports.
