2003 - Ford Mustang on 2040-cars
Heisson, Washington, United States
A unique one-of-a-kind Mustang that in styling and performance combines European finesse with North American muscle. This one-off HPA Motorsports modified and "tuned" Mustang originally appeared at SEMA in Las Vegas and subsequently toured North America appearing in Ford Motor Company displays. It was featured in a MUSTANG 5.0 magazine 5 page/8 picture article in February, 2005, and again in a 2 page/1 picture article in February, 2009, and was the focus of a 3 page/8 picture article in the May/June 2003 issue of PERFORMANCE AUTO & SOUND magazine. Since its creation and North American tour it has been a one owner, garage kept, nice weather only vehicle with a mere 4800 miles clocked. Numerous enhancements, with the following highlights: " Vortech HO Supercharger, Vortech Intercooler, tuned management system, ceramic headers, free flow exhaust, yield 420 HP from 4.6l V8, 5 speed manual. " Custom HRE 18 inch x 8.5 inch and 10 inch gunmetal wheels. " Hyperperformance/Brembro disc brakes on 13 inch and 11 inch drilled rotors. " 245/40ZR/18 and 285/35ZR/18 TOYO rubber. " Specialized KW/Ford Motorsport racing coilover suspension and swaybar combination producing EXCEPTIONAL handling. " Unique fascia, painted gunmetal stripes and headlight shadowing, rear spoiler, side pipes, Bullitt details, and functional shaker hood scoop result in head-turning appearance. " Interior components painted to match exterior gunmetal highlights, Sparco Milano buckets and rear seat covered in charcoal Alcantara "Italian suede", VDO indigo white faced gauges and dash tach, "big" sound from Sony CDX head unit and MTX amp, speakers, and 10 inch sub. This vehicle has a "specialty vehicle" designation for an insurance cost discount, and was appraised and insured for $80,000.00. Condition of vehicle is "absolutely perfect". Subcompact sales slump, yet again
Ford C-Max spied with fresh updates
Fri, 05 Sep 2014The Ford C-Max hatchback looks to be getting a few cosmetic updates, as evidenced in this latest set of spy photos. Like the smaller Focus, which also received a nip/tuck for the 2015 model year, the C-Max appears to be getting a revised front fascia with slimmer headlamps and a more, shall we say, Aston Martin-like grille. Around back, there looks to be a new bumper with redesigned taillamps, as well.
In other markets, the C-Max people-mover is available with a range of powertrains, but here in the US, it exists either as a traditional gas-electric or plug-in hybrid. The C-Max's fuel economy has been a particular topic of interest lately, with its official fuel economy ratings having been lowered twice since the vehicle's launch. Sales initially suffered a bit following this fiasco, though numbers have since leveled out. It's unclear if Ford is working on any powertrain tweaks for the updated C-Max seen here, however.
Ford has likely spruced up the hatch's interior, as well, though we don't have photos of that at this time. Mum's the word on when we'll see the new C-Max, but our best guess is that it'll arrive sometime in the next year.
Oprah at it again, gives car away on Jimmy Kimmel Live!
Sat, 17 Aug 2013Oprah Winfrey loves giving away cars. Not only has she given Pontiac G6 sedans and Volkswagen Beetle retro-mobiles to everyone in the audience of her past show, but the other night on Jimmy Kimmel Live! she gave another car away to one lucky audience member, while yelling her now-famous line: "You get a car!"
Although the acting of Oprah and Jimmy Kimmel was obviously staged for this giveaway, the reaction from the woman in the audience was genuine shock as she found out that she had just won a new Ford Fusion Energi. Congrats!
Not to take away from what Oprah and Jimmy pulled off, but our cynical sides have to wonder if there isn't more than just a little coincidence that this giveaway took place on the same day that Ford announced a fuel economy reduction for the C-Max hybrid. You be the judge... Scroll down to watch the short clip from the episode.
