2002 Mustang Gt 761 Hp Supercharged Custom $63k Build Mmr 950 Stroker Engine Hot on 2040-cars
Sterling, Illinois, United States
2002 Mustang GT 761hp Custom
The introduction of the Mustang in 1964 created a new class of
automobile known as the pony car. The Mustang’s styling, with its long
hood and short deck, proved wildly popular and inspired a host of
imitators. The fourth generation (98-04) was based on an updated version
of the Fox platform called the Fox-4. This particular example is a one
owner car that has been customized with a new Modular Mustang Racing 950
stroker engine capable of 1200 horsepower. The car currently has 85,301
miles but the engine was installed at 84,232 miles so it and the entire
driveline have just 1,069 total miles. The 2 valve long block has 9:5:1
compression and was built by the best with only the best parts which
include the dome coated pistons, ARP 2000 rod bolts, Stage II billet
Comp Cams cam with MMR billet spacers as well as a MMR street racing oil
pump, windage tray, 10 quart oil pan, side bolt and washer kit. It is
topped off with Trick Flow 2 valve ported and polished stage II heads,
Trick Flow valve covers, a Victor Jr. intake with fuel rails ported by
MMR to match, an Accufab throttle body and plenum, 120 lb injectors
(tuned for E85), a Magnafuel 650ml fuel pump, a Treadstone intercooler
and Paxton NOVI 2000 supercharger. This beast has been dyno tuned which
shows that it has 632 RWHP which is 761 HP at the crank. The rest of the
driveline was built to handle this and then some with rebuilt 4R70W
transmission which was completely rebuilt with all Lentech internals
which include a manual valve body, trans brake, a 3500 stall converter,
dual coolers with fans, a B&M hammer shifter with reverse lock out
and manual switches for both the converter lockup and overdrive. The
rear end was rebuilt with 3:73 gears, 31 spline Strange axles with C
clip eliminators, a Detroit Tru Trac carrier and a Mosier differential
plate. The exhaust is handled with Bassani mid length headers and X pipe
and sounds just plain nasty ripping through its Magnaflow cat back
exhaust. Chassis concepts installed the engine, upgraded the brakes to
Cobra brakes and upgraded the suspension by adding Monroe Sensa shocks
and struts, Eibach Pro 1 1/2 inch lowering springs, Eibach anti sway bars,
a bump steer eliminator, BMR adjustable upper and lower control arms as
well as sub frame connectors. You will also notice that the A pillar
now houses Autometer gauges for the fuel and boost, a MSD digital shift
light and Glow Shift gauges for the trans temp and wide band were
tastefully mounted to the dash. The stereo was upgraded with state of
the art JVC stereo as well as a bazooka tube in the trunk for some added
bass. You will also notice the gorgeous chrome staggered rims with
massive 315/35/17’s on the rear. All said and done over $63,000 was
spent bringing the car to its current stage. This is an opportunity to
get it for a fraction of that so if you like what you see don’t wait
until it’s gone to call!

Ford Fiesta ST GRC Racecar is hungry for podiums in 2013
Thu, 07 Feb 2013As we reported earlier, the Chicago showing of this plucky Ford Fiesta ST GRC racer points to bigger and brighter days for Global RallyCross. For the upcoming season, you can expect to see Ken Block and Tanner Foust both driving the Ford racecar, and if last season's results are any indication, you can anticipate quite a few podium appearances, as well.
The Fiesta seen here was built by the Swedes at OlsbergsMSE, and will be driven in anger by Foust in 2013. Modifications are, as you'd expect, extensive, and include an engine, exhaust and braking upgrades, a racing style short-throw shifter and a limited-slip differential. As you can see, the car has been fully stripped out and caged for maximum speed and safety, too.
Refresh your memories with the details of the car, in the press releases below. And if you head out to the Chicago Auto Show this year, don't forget to drop by the Ford stand to have a look.
Porsche 911 tops a list of must-have classics, but No. 2 is more of a surprise
Wed, Aug 9 2023No surprise here: In Europe, the Porsche 911 is the most sought-after classic car. Surprise here: Slip-streaming the 911 in the most sought-after chart compiled by the Car & Classic marketplace is the Ford Mustang. Using the Google search engine as a means to pick the winners, as well as the average prices achieved on the “Car and Classic” website, the venerable 911 was tagged 1.45 million times per month according to data stretching back 15 years. The number of 911Â’s sold though the C&C marketplace was 21,141, at an average price of 58,409 pounds, or $74,300. FordÂ’s pony car, still a popular choice for buyers in Europe, placed second on the list with 1.2 million monthly searches. The average sales price over 15 years was 31,107 pounds ($39,570), and the number of older Mustangs sold reached a total of 8,332. Models that also finished among the charted top 10 include the Land Rover Range Rover, the Corvette, the ultra-classic British favorite Jaguar E-Type and the BMW 3 Series. “Whilst a 1973 Porsche 911 Carrera 2.7 RS could set you back the best part of GBP500,000 ($636,000), there are many more affordable models, which bring the average sale price of a 911 on Car & Classic to GBP58,000 ($73,800) – the third highest average selling price of any make and model on the site,” explained Dale Vinten of Car & Classic. According to the site, the Jaguar fetched the highest average selling price: a whopping 89,000 pounds, or $113,000. But thatÂ’s peanuts compared to a Series 1 Roadster in excellent condition, said Vinten. For that, “you can expect to spend up to GBP250,000 ($318,000), A Series 2 or 3 will cost less, as they are not as desirable, but in decent condition you can expect to pay around GBP40,000-GBP50,000. Even a barn find 1969 E-Type Series 2 Roadster can set you back to the tune of GBP33,000 ($42,000)." Launched in 2005, Car & Classic is among EuropeÂ’s most popular classic car clearinghouses. It also runs a stand-alone auction site.
2015 Ford Mustang Convertible shown on Twitter [UPDATE w/video]
Thu, 05 Dec 2013It hasn't yet been 12 hours since the hotly anticipated 2015 Ford Mustang has been let out into public view. After a series of evocative leaks over the course of the last days, we brought you a full deep dive of the sixth-generation pony car at the dawning of today. And yet, here we are rushing to bring you news of a new Mustang variant, already.
Be it part of a plan to keep the Mustang fervor at full boil, or a misunderstood email somewhere in the chain of command, Ford UK has unceremoniously tweeted a picture of the 2015 Ford Mustang Convertible. For a newly global Mustang, getting our first look at the droptop from the convertible-crazy British does make some amount of sense.
As for details, well, you're looking at them. Brandon Turkus reported yesterday that the Mustang 'vert would make use of a fully electric convertible mechanism, and that it would be of fabric construction rather than some kind of retractable hardtop. We see here that the fabric part is clearly true, and it does look as though Ford may still be employing the same kind of manually attached tonneau cover that exists right now. Of course, our view from this angle isn't great, and the particulars are still up in the air.
