2001 Ford Mustang Convertible V6 on 2040-cars
Verona, New Jersey, United States
Up for auction is my 2001 Ford Mustang. I bought this car in 2011 from my friend who used it as a college commuting vehicle. Having purchased a new car, I am now selling the Mustang as I have no space to park the car. The car has a 3.8L V6 motor and an automatic transmission. It has 144,000 miles. The convertible top was replaced a year ago, although it has a small leak near the bottom of the glass window. Several months ago, my mechanic replaced the fuel pump and ball joints. The car has an after market cold air intake. The oil has been changed every 3,000 miles. The battery is brand new and the alternator was replaced 5,000 miles ago. The sound system is an after market unit with CD player and auxiliary jack. The air conditioning blows cold. The interior leather seats are in good shape. The car itself is in good shape, although it is not perfect. The
passenger side window does not work all the time. The convertible goes
down but needs some manual push coming up.
The top probably needs a new motor. The rear bumper has some peeling paint. NJ inspection is good until 2015. The car runs and sounds great. There are no mechanical problems other than
what was listed above as far as I know. It needs some new tires soon. I have some
service receipts. This car has been maintained on a regular basis. The key fob needs a new battery. The reserve price is $2,150. The KBB value of the car is $2,500. |

Ford spotted testing new Focus RS at the Nurburgring
Thu, 26 Jun 2014Ford is expected to be launching a revised version of the Focus ST soon, but the latest snapshots from our spy photographers at the Nürburgring suggest that the Blue Oval is already working on an even more potent example: the new Focus RS.
Though the partially disguised test mule is wearing an ST badge (along with a Dewey sticker that makes us wonder what adventures Huey and Louie are up to and what manner of duck-tail rear spoiler they may be wearing), there are several tell-tale signs that something else is afoot here. There's a larger front air dam, bigger brake calipers, dual exhaust tips (instead of the central exhaust on the ST) and a reshaped wing protruding from the trailing edge of the roof.
That may all be well and fine, but what's under the hood? We don't know yet for sure, but word has it that Ford is preparing to port over the 2.3-liter turbo four offered in the new Mustang, where it packs 305 horsepower and almost as much torque - potentially retuned to produce even more for the top-of-the-line Focus, which could channel it all to the front wheels like the last model or pack an all-wheel drive system. The Global C platform on which the Focus is based does, after all, also underpin AWD models like the Ford Escape and Lincoln MKC.
Toyota, Ford not interested in FCA merger
Mon, Jun 15 2015Sergio Marchionne will preach the benefits of mergers to anyone who'll listen, but his calls for industry consolidation may be falling on deaf ears. At least, that is, the ears of those who the Fiat Chrysler chief would most like to bend. Not only is General Motors uninterested, but according to The Detroit News, neither are Toyota or Ford. "It's something we would not be interested in," said Toyota's North American chief Jim Lentz, at the groundbreaking ceremony for the new Toyota Technical Center. "At 10 million (vehicles) we have enough scale right now to do what we need to do. There really would be no advantage for us." Toyota isn't the only one unenthused by the prospect of merging with Fiat Chrysler Automobiles. The Detroit News also reports that Ford, though it may yet to have been approached by Marchionne, wouldn't be interested either. "We're not a suitor for FCA," said Ford CFO Bob Shanks. "We don't see that type of opportunity as one that applies to us." With GM, Toyota, and Ford expressing disinterest in Marchionne's merger idea, the FCA chief will likely start looking elsewhere – or look for other ways to compel his primary candidate to reconsider. He may eventually find a partner – more likely in the Far East or within Europe – but it may not take the form of the major player Sergio has hoped for. Ford moving medium-duty F-Series production from Mexico to Ohio
Thu, 27 Feb 2014
A few more Ford trucks will be built in the US in the near future with news that production of the F-650 and F-750 medium-duty trucks will move from Mexico to Ford's Ohio Assembly Plant in Avon Lake, OH. Ford hasn't confirmed a precise timeline for the move, but The Detroit News claims the Blue Oval will make the shift later this year or in early 2015.
As Ford spokesperson Mike Levine reminded us, back in 2011, Ford announced in an investor release that it would shift production "after the [Ohio] plant stops current production of the Ford E-Series vans." According to that release, the Ohio factory will also receive $128 million in upgrades to build the new trucks, plus the F53 motorhome chassis and F59 commercial chassis.
