Up for sale is my 1999 real Cobra. Car currently has 120k miles on it, but will go up as weather allows. Car has never been in an accident and has had zero paint or body work. Car still has the original convertible top on it as well.

Work that has been done in the last 1000 miles:
-ABS control box rebuilt
-Complete rear end rebuild with 3:73 gears and Auburn differential
-All and I mean all bushings replaced in the IRS with a kit from FTBR
-Rear end and cradle bushings replaced as well
-Diablo tuner to correct the speedometer from the gears
-Motor mounts
-Lloyd's replacement Cobra floor mats
-New headlights

Car is riding on Vogtland sport springs with all the isos still in (could be lower if you wanted). I do have the factory springs if you want it put back to stock height also. Car has flowmaster exhausts welded in, short throw shifter, and after market clutch, welded in subframe connectors, but is completely stock other than that, down to the air box. Car is in great shape and has absolutely ZERO rust. Leather interior is in good shape with no rips or tears. Originally a southern car and has seen no snow. I'm sure I am forgetting something, may consider partial trade for something like an S4 biturbo or Viggen, must be a manual hard top car with no rust, body, or paint work done. $8,900. SVT birth certificate and clean title in hand. Please have funds and ask any questions prior to make an offer. Don't waste my time just to back out when it comes time to get car.

Hot sales have Detroit automakers shortening summer shutdowns

    Tue, 08 Jul 2014

Back in May, there was speculation that the Detroit Three automakers would maintain or perhaps even extend their traditional summer shutdowns, mostly due to a bitingly cold winter that saw below-freezing temperatures infiltrate the southernmost reaches of the US, putting a chill on auto sales. Now, though, the numbers are in, and thanks to some promising sales figures, it looks like some domestic line workers are going to be working clear through July, in some cases.
According to Automotive News, Ford has slashed its traditional two-week hiatus for factory workers in half at four of its plants, while both Chrysler and General Motors will keep factories running nonstop (two plants in Chrysler's case and a third of GM's factories).
This is, as we said, thanks to some positive numbers. Chief among those is the Seasonal Adjusted Annual Rate, which was at an eight-year high of 17 million units. Individual figures were less promising. GM, embroiled in its recall scandal, still saw a one-percent increase while Ford dropped six percent in year-over-year sales. Chrysler was the big winner, though, with a nine-percent jump in June.

Ford says 70% of its models to get stop-start by 2017

    Sun, 15 Dec 2013

Ford is following up on a report we posted a few weeks back that the Blue Oval would be adding stop-start technology to its entire model range. Now, the Dearborn-based automaker has announced that the fuel-saving feature would be available on 70 percent of the company's range by 2017.
Ford claims the technology will improve fuel economy by around 3.5 percent, although its actual effect will vary based on how the owner drives - apparently up to a 10-percent improvement is possible for those who sit in heavy traffic (Los Angelenos, this means you). The latest recipient of the technology is the updated 2014 Ford Fiesta with the company's three-cylinder EcoBoost powerplant.
Part of the reasoning for the new addition has to do with cost. Ford claims the tech is affordable and easy to implement. "Simply put, Auto Start-Stop helps customers use less fuel, which is an important component of Ford's Blueprint for Sustainability," Ford's global powertrain vice president, Bob Fascetti, said.

TX officer allegedly lets 140-mph street racer go with a warning [w/poll]

    Tue, 26 Aug 2014

Being pulled over by the police is one of the most nerve-racking situations that a driver can go through, and it's even worse when you know that the officer has you dead to rights for speeding well over the posted limit. In this video, the driver of a heavily modified Ford Mustang with a claimed 966 horsepower at the rear wheels could have easily lost his ride for doing triple-digit speeds and street racing, but a friendly Texas police officer appears to send him on his way with a simple warning.
What's more, the driver in question wasn't just speeding - his Mustang was the camera car for a bunch of rolling street races in the wee hours of the morning on a Texas highway. The driver was more than willing to mix it up in the action, too. Eventually the cops catch on and pick the 'Stang to pull over, but not before the Ford owner runs a claimed 140 mph. With only audio to go on after the car is pulled over, the police officer seems incredibly nonchalant about catching someone who was so brazenly breaking the law. Incredibly, the patrolman actually tells the driver that he's seen everyone racing tonight but ignored them. With traffic picking up, the cop says that it's time to "cut it out" and go home for the night. As far as this video shows, that was the end of it.
Warning: There is explicit, not-safe-for-work language in the video below.
