1999 SVT Cobra. Has low miles at 76,541 but the engine has a lot less than even that.

Good stuff: Car has 76,541 miles but the Ford SVT 01 Cobra motor with 03 heads only has about 25,000 miles on it. Mac TF9900 Long tube headers, Hi Flo H-Pipe, Cat back with 3-1/2 in pipes, Steeda Under drive pulleys, Cold air intake, 4:10 rear gear with bearing kit, Diablo chip, Ticks for Speedometer to keep everything accurate, new Walbro HP fuel pump, Steeda Tri-Ax T-45 shifter with B&M knob, Welded sub frame connectors, IRS Cobra Sport springs, Strange struts, HBH shocks, Mach One Ram air fiberglass hood ( one of only 10 ever made), Billet fuel door, Billet interior buttons and knobs, Tinted windows, Saleen 18x9 front wheels with BF Goodrich G-Force 265/35/ZR 18, Saleen 18x10 rear wheels with BF Goodrich 295/35/ZR 18. Alpine MP3/WMA/CD player, Alpine 4 channel Amp. Alpine and Rockford speakers.

Bad stuff: The front Fascia is cracked as you can see in one of the photos. We actually have a replacement Saleen front fascia, Saleen side vents, Kaminari side skirts and Kaminari rear fascia that all comes with the car. It was bought through Mr. Body kit a few years ago, so we have about $1,500 worth of replacement body parts but we just never got around to having it all installed. We also had a rock pop up and hit the windshield recently so it has a crack in the windshield that goes about 3/4ths of the way up on the passenger side but it has never gotten any bigger over the last few months but we will pay to have the windshield replaced before the car is bought unless you would just rather have it done yourself and then we can just take the cost right off the price of the car. Your call on that one. Interior is in good condition with no ripped or torn seats and the back seats look almost new.  The car is not perfect but its in pretty good shape for something that's 15 years old, and its got a lot of nice performance extras and of course the body kit that comes with it. Thanks for looking.

Ford exec reveals new F-150 Raptor packs 450 horsepower

Mon, Jan 26 2015

Between the new GT supercar, Shelby GT350R muscle car and F-150 Raptor off-roader, Ford had quite the array of performance machinery on display at the Detroit Auto Show earlier this month. One thing it didn't reveal about any of the three, however, is how much power they'd pack, but a senior executive at the Blue Oval automaker has reportedly let the cat out of the bag when it comes to the Raptor. During a televised interview during the Rolex 24 at Daytona this past weekend, Ford's product development chief Raj Nair is said to have revealed that the new F-150 Raptor will offer 450 horsepower. That's pretty impressive from a 3.5-liter turbocharged V6, and would put the new Raptor out ahead of the 411 hp produced by the 6.2-liter naturally aspirated V8 in the previous SVT Raptor. That doesn't give us the whole picture, though, because in a vehicle this big especially, torque will play a huge factor. The outgoing Raptor offered 424 pound-feet of twist, and the existing 3.5-liter EcoBoost engine is already producing 420 lb-ft – so it seems fairly safe to assume the new Raptor will eclipse those figures as well, but we'll have to wait for official word to find out for sure. Check out Ford's fully automated self-parking car [w/video]

Wed, 09 Oct 2013

As automakers continue to find uses for autonomous and semi-autonomous vehicle technology, Ford of Europe has announced that it is developing a self-parking system for future use. More advanced than the Active Park Assist already offered in many Ford products, the new Fully Assisted Parking Aid can take full control of the vehicle and can navigate angled and perpendicular parking spots.
While today's Active Park Assist can only parallel park with the driver controlling the gas, brake and gear selection, Fully Assisted Parking Aid can operate steering, gas, brake and gear selection all while making sure the car is properly parked in the intended space. As with APA, the driver pushes a button to make the car look for a proper spot (at speeds of up to 18 miles per hour), and when an adequate space is located, the operator pushes another button (either inside the car or outside via remote control) for the car to park itself - the button must be pressed throughout the whole parking maneuver. Even though Ford says that the car can effect gear selections on its own, the system must still start from Neutral, and the automaker isn't saying whether the car can put itself into Park when done or put itself in Drive when the operator is ready to go.
Ford is also taking the opportunity to announce its new Obstacle Avoidance technology. This automated system is able to detect objects - including pedestrians - in the road, warn drivers of said objects and, if needed, stop and steer automatically to avoid hitting the obstacle. Both systems are still in the prototype phase, so there is no word as to when we could see either on a production vehicle.

Ford ditching Microsoft in favor of BlackBerry QNX for next-gen Sync?

Mon, 24 Feb 2014

Ask the average consumer - at least, those who follow the goings-on in the automotive industry - which carmaker they'd most closely associate Microsoft, and the answer you'd most likely get would be Ford. The Blue Oval automaker, after all, was at the forefront of bringing Microsoft technology into cars with its pioneering Sync system, and, though reality didn't turn out as such, Ford's CEO was recently touted as a potential future head of the Redmond-based software giant. But that relationship, according to the latest reports, could be coming to an end.
Alan Mullaly kiboshed the idea of leaving Dearborn for Redmond, but more importantly Ford is tipped to be ditching Microsoft in developing its next-generation Sync system. In its place, Ford is expected to partner with BlackBerry's QNX division.
Now, before you go balking "BlackBerry?! But they're finished!" consider that QNX is (or at least was) an independent entity that Research In Motion (as BlackBerry's Ontario-based parent company was then known) just happened to have bought back in 2010. QNX provides control systems to everything from nuclear power plants and UAVs to automakers like Audi, BMW and Porsche.
