Up for bidding is my pride and joy, a rare 1998 Chrome Yellow Cobra. The only reason for selling is to purchase a new Mustang. This car started out as a bone stock Cobra upon my purchasing it, and it was tastefully modified with parts from the company I work for, Latemodelrestoration.com We used the car for various instructional videos on modifying and restoring this platform. It is also featured on the front of our latest catalog. I have enjoyed the car, but it is time to move on to the next project. Who ever wins the auction for this car will be purchasing a car that has become common place on Latemodel Restoration advertisements and videos on our Youtube Channel and it receives positive attention everywhere it goes. It is mechanically 100% and I would trust it to take me anywhere. When I set out to make this car my own, the modifications we're done to be subtle, yet update the car at the same time. Cosmetically the car received chrome 18x9 and 18x10 Saleen Style wheels, with brand new Nitto 555 tires. The tires have less than 300 miles on them. No curb rash of any kind. The suspension was refreshed with new bushings, Eibach Sportline Lowering Springs, Tokico HP shocks and struts, and J&M Caster Camber Plates. The handling and ride and drive is excellent and solid as a rock. It's one of the best riding Mustangs I have ever driven. As far as drivetrain goes, I kept it simple with a K&N air filter, BBK offroad H pipe, and Flowmaster American Thunder Catback. The car sounds great and will also come with the stock catted H pipe if you live where emission testing is done. It still has its factory 3.27 gears so its great on the highway and still gets great gas mileage. All fluids are fresh and no leaks of any kind. The transmission is grind free and solid with a MGW short throw shifter. The factory shifter will be included as well. Cosmetically, it is a wreck free, rust free Texas car. The paint is nice with no dents or dings of any kind. All weatherstripping is still nice and soft as well. The interior is bone stock and in excellent shape. It still has that leather smell and has not been smoked in. The stock mach 460 stereo is still there and sounds great. The CD player and tape deck still function as they should. The car truly needs nothing and if you are looking for a daily driver, or car to take to the car shows, it will perform well for you. I have set the reserve respectfully and would like the car to go to a good home where it will be enjoyed. With cold AC, and hot heat, it is ready to go. If you have any questions, feel free to email me. Ebay will not allow me to post video links directly on here, so shoot me an email, and I'll be more than happy to email the videos of the car to you, or you can go to youtube and search for "Karson's Cobra", and the video's will come up for you. Good luck and Happy Bidding! -Karson

Why the 2015 Detroit Auto Show will be the best since The Crisis

Tue, Dec 30 2014

The Detroit Auto Show clearly has its swagger back, and the 2015 edition will be a veritable feast for the enthusiast senses. We're talking serious performance, and it will be exhibited in a variety of forms. Sports cars. Supercars. Muscle-bound luxury cars. They're all set for splashy debuts in January in the Motor City. It's another signpost that companies have recovered from the global economic crisis that gripped the industry from 2008-09. For a while, automakers played it safe at Detroit and other shows. Environmentally friendly cars were important, especially for General Motors and Chrysler that were living on loans from Uncle Sam. Ford, Toyota and other companies generally focused on their best-selling or core models. With a few notable exceptions, recent auto shows have been a bit more buttoned-down than in the past. Boring probably isn't the right word, but austerity has been reality. That's changing. Car companies are making money. Sales are up. Aside from the many nagging recalls – and they are notable – the industry now has the time and energy to make performance cars a priority. That will be offered in hard evidence in Detroit. A year from now when we look back at this auto show, we'll sum it up with one word: Horsepower. But make no mistake, this isn't frivolous. Sports and luxury cars are expensive. They're profitable. They boost images and highlight strengths. With that in mind, here are five significant performance-oriented reveals to watch for when the show kicks off in less than two weeks. 2016 Acura NSX Acura's reborn NSX is a strong bet to earn plenty of votes for our Editors' Choice awards. It's one of the most anticipated – and strung-out – reveals of the year. Think back: we actually saw an NSX concept at the 2012 Detroit show, and Acura has spent the last three years teasing the car in a variety of ways. The slow burn, however, means we know a lot about the NSX. It's will use a mid-mounted twin-turbo hybrid powertrain and run with all-wheel drive. It will also wear an innovative zirconium e-coat paint, a new paint process that Honda says is more environmentally friendly. Honda has also said it will build the new NSX in Ohio, where a large part of the car's development work has been done. The original NSX was produced from 1990-2005 and helped establish Acura's performance credentials in the United States. It was a landmark car and a shot across the bow of Ferrari, Lamborghini and others.

Rolling footage of the 2015 Ford Mustang hits YouTube [w/video]

Thu, 26 Dec 2013

Just in time for the holidays: Ford took the 2015 Mustang to Route 66 to cook up rolling footage, and we've been given some of the leftovers ahead of the meal. There are no burnouts, no donuts, no revving, and thankfully, no music. It's just two minutes and 26 seconds of the new pony car running free in the desert.
So in case you needed more visualizing help, the video below will help you start imagining how you'll look in your 2014 Christmas present to yourself...
