1997 Ford Mustang Cobra SVT. Mostly stock 4.6 DOHC engine with K & N FIPK air filter. I have original air filter housing as well. Has Hurst Billet Plus internal rail shifter with old school white ball installed. I have original shifter as well. Has aftermarket gauge pod in place of OEM clock. It holds an Autometer Phantom clock and air/fuel ratio gauge. I have the original clock as well. Has original Ford Cobra bra installed (rare). Has aftermarket black cobra style rims with SVT center caps installed. 17x9 in front with NEW Nexen 245/45ZR17 tires. 17x10.5 in back with NEW Nexen 275/40ZR17 tires (sweet). Has 72,000 original miles and runs awesome. Shifts smooth and fast with Hurst shifter. Paint is in very nice condition with a few small chips and such for its age, but was garage kept since I've owned it. Brakes are new in front along with all four tires. Interior is in very good condition with new Bullitt style pedals and new Cobra floor mats. I do have original floor mats as well although they are pretty worn out. Mach 360 radio is gone (junk), in it's place is a new Pioneer stereo with ipod cord routed into glove compartment. Has a Ford bullitt style fuel door installed and I have the original as well. Blue Book value on this car is well over asking price, so don't lose out! I love this car and had a lot of fun driving it, but its time for a new project, so she has to go. You will not be disappointed! Any questions, email me and I will get back to you asap. Thanks, Joe P.S. I recently installed new Eibach lowering springs which make the handling even better-see the last three pics to see car with springs installed.

eBay Find of the Day: 1970 Ford Torino King Cobra prototype
Wed, 08 May 2013Over the last decade or so, competition in NASCAR has led to some pretty funky looking racecars. And when the sport was still up and coming, the tight competition actually led to some interesting production cars. The Dodge Charger Daytona and Plymouth Superbird are perhaps the most well-known cars of the sport's "aero wars" era but the Ford Torino King Cobra might have been the most memorable of all, if not for some different homologation rules established in 1970. The Torino King Cobra never made it to production and never competed in NASCAR, but three examples exist including this one now for sale on eBay.
Designed as a successor for the aero-tuned Torino Talladega, the Torino King Cobra has a sleeker front end with hidden headlights and a sloped nose. As the story goes, NASCAR made a rule change in 1970 requiring 3,000 of the vehicles to be produced, which was substantially more than the 500 units required by the previous rule. One of the three prototypes ever built - and the only one built with the Boss 429 engine - is now for sale on eBay with a starting bid of $500,000. With a little more than three days left on the auction there are still no bids, but in the grand scheme of things this seems like a relatively fair price for a rare piece of automobile and racing history.

Ford Mustang Mach-E fails Sweden's moose test
Wed, Sep 29 2021The infamous moose test has claimed another casualty. This time it's the Ford Mustang Mach-E AWD Long Range, which was tested in an electric four-way alongside the Tesla Model Y, Hyundai Ioniq 5 and Skoda Enyaq iV (an electric utility vehicle closely related to the Volkswagen ID.4 that is sold in the United States). According to the Swedish testers at Teknikens Varld, Ford's electric car not only failed to hit the speed necessary for a passing grade, it didn't perform well at slower speeds, either. To pass the outlet's moose test, a car has to complete a rapid left-right-straight S-shaped pattern marked by cones at a speed of at least 72 km/h (44.7 miles per hour). The test is designed to mimic the type of avoidance maneuver a driver would have to take in order to avoid hitting something that wandered into the road, which in Sweden may be a moose but could just as easily be a deer or some other member of the animal kingdom elsewhere in the world, or possibly a child or car backing into the motorway. Not only is the maneuver very aggressive, it's also performed with weights belted into each seat and more weight added to the cargo area to hit the vehicle's maximum allowable carrying capacity. The Mustang Mach-E only managed to complete the moose test at 68 km/h (42.3 mph), well below the passing-grade threshold. Even at much lower speeds, Teknikens Varld says the Mach-E (which boasts the highest carrying capacity and was therefore loaded with more weight than the rest of the vehicles tested in this quartet) is "too soft in the chassis" and suffers from "too slow steering." Proving that it is indeed possible to pass the test, the Hyundai and Skoda completed the maneuver at the 44.7-mph figure required for a passing grade and the Tesla did it at 46.6 mph, albeit with less weight in the cargo area. It's not clear whether other versions of the Mustang Mach-E would pass the test. It's also unknown if Ford will make any changes to its chassis tuning or electronic stability control software, as some other automakers have done after a poor performance from Teknikens Varld, to improve its performance in the moose test.
