Today you are bidding on a Ford 1997 Mustang SVT Cobra

Okay lets get right to it, if your looking for a Purdy $40,000+ New Mustang GT with all the options, (lets not forget thats before you bring it to PBH, Steeda, Roush and ring up another $10,000-$30,000) This car may or may not be for you.  No kid car here, I'm 50+ This Beast for sale here is raw, untamed, cross breed between yesterdays muscle cars and more recent road warriors. With performance upgrades that support each other, not just engine. The idle is so smooth, almost deceitful, tuned by Lund racing at Power By the Hour. If you have been looking for a weekend classic car for shows and cruise night, that needs the final steps, or have been looking for a road warrior, and you just feel the need, THE NEED FOR SPEED, and can live with a few imperfections this is your car(that's me till I got injured). Also the 1996-1998 has the hood with the nostrils, that I am a huge fan of.  This car is A BODY/PAINT man/woman Dream, cuz all she needs is cosmetic work. The asking price for what is included is low. You usually get what you pay for. However, in this case you get much more! You will instantly have the feeling of knowing exactly what your ride has, that normally comes from several months of tinkering and upgrading, and the paperwork (receipts) to back it up. Rust free body could be prepped and painted, or drive it like you stole it "AS IS"

I am regularly complimented on the exhaust note of the Gods, even by people that say I'm not a Ford guy(recently that happened) but wow what a sound! Please email cobratt@live.com for any questions,. Youtube link, search 1997 sc cobra, You will thank yourself later. Full Specs Below:

However, the hood, top, and trunk lid are loosing the clear coat(see photos). Also, a month ago i was tapped in a 3 way turn, center lane driver went straight and nicked just behind the drivers door, very minor. The front of the car is a deep metallic purple that fades back into ghost flames. It is the least updated component of the car. It was next on the to do list. Other stand outs, the steering wheel leather wrap showing signs if age, and the driver power seat motors blow fuses ever so often due to age, not a problem if you are the only driver, fuses are cheap, and I was considering racing seats down the road. The engine bay could use some spit and polish. However that's about it for the to do list. Items listed as new are the most recent features, all others not to far behind. Receipts available and will go to the buyer.
Lets not forget the basics, before all the power adders. Ford ice cold A.C. that was also recently updated, and every other accessory that comes with a Cobra. Everything works. Interior great condition, no rips, cracks or problems. Oh yeah those are Cobra Golf Club Head Covers, to cover the floor ends of  Roll bar when not in use, as to not catch the bottom of your jeans. Mileage is not an issue with all the updates, Also non smoker owners always, and I am the 3rd owner. So much for those other ads that say too much to list, never understood that.

Good Luck and thx for looking, I also have shipping out of state available of needed

Weekly Recap: Chevy and Alfa plot comeback strategies

Sat, Jun 27 2015

Chevrolet and Alfa Romeo were two of the 20th Century's most iconic automotive brands. Chevy embodied America's post-war power and confidence. Alfa was the definition of the stylish Italian sports car. They reached halcyon heights in the 1950s and '60s, before declining precipitously amid new competition, changing consumer tastes, and uneven corporate management. Both say 2015 is the start of something better, and this week Chevy and Alfa laid out ambitious plans and showcased new cars that they hope will make them more relevant this year, and in the coming years. Each brand sits at its own crossroads, and their paths forward are as different as the Chevy Cruze and the Alfa Romeo Giulia. Chevy is still a sales beast, as evidenced by its volume of 4.8 million vehicles sold around the world last year. Chevy executives are fond of saying one of their cars is sold every seven seconds, which illustrates the strength and reach of a car brand that is the fourth largest in the world. "Make no mistake about it, we are a brand for the people," said General Motors North America president Alan Batey. But he wants consumers to want to buy a Chevy for its design and technology, not simply because it's affordable. That starts with all Chevys now featuring a distinctive a family look, with sporty cues from the Corvette or strong lines that riff on the Silverado pickup. "We want people to fall in lust with our cars," said Mike Pevovar, executive design director for Chevy passenger cars. "That initial emotional attraction has to be right on the exterior, and that's where form comes into play." Chevy is also loading up its cars, like the freshly unveiled 2016 Chevy Cruze, with technology to appeal to a younger crowd that prizes connectivity. The Cruze will offer Apple CarPlay and Android Auto with its MyLink infotainment system, and OnStar with 4G LTE and wifi. Seeking out younger buyers is also sound business practice: Millennials now outnumber Baby Boomers as the largest single age group in the United States. Younger buyers also can improve a brand's image, which is another area where Chevy would like to improve. Chevy ranks 82nd on Interbrand's Best Global Brand's list, behind 11 other automakers. Apple is No. 1. "We need our own variation of the Genius Bar," Batey said. 2016 Alfa Romeo Giulia View 3 Photos Meanwhile, Alfa is in different shape.

Ford recalling nearly 5,700 2014 F-150s for power steering issue

Wed, 25 Jun 2014

Ford is recalling 5,675 of its 2014 F-150 pickups over an issue with the electric power steering system. There haven't been any injuries or accidents due to the issue.
Ford spokesman Mike Levine told Autoblog that the "electric power-assisted steering and motor position sensor gear were incorrectly installed by a supplier," leading to the recall.
While the recall is larger on the surface, it's important to note that only 260 trucks have been delivered to customers. The remaining pickups are currently en route to dealers. The affected vehicles were manufactured between May 26 and June 19.

Nuclear-powered concept cars from the Atomic Age

Thu, 17 Jul 2014

In the 1950s and early 60s, the dawn of nuclear power was supposed to lead to a limitless consumer culture, a world of flying cars and autonomous kitchens all powered by clean energy. In Europe, it offered the then-limping continent a cheap, inexhaustible supply of power after years of rationing and infrastructure damage brought on by two World Wars.
The development of nuclear-powered submarines and ships during the 1940s and 50s led car designers to begin conceptualizing atomic vehicles. Fueled by a consistent reaction, these cars would theoretically produce no harmful byproducts and rarely need to refuel. Combining these vehicles with the new interstate system presented amazing potential for American mobility.
But the fantasy soon faded. There were just too many problems with the realities of nuclear power. For starters, the powerplant would be too small to attain a reaction unless the car contained weapons-grade atomic materials. Doing so would mean every fender-bender could result in a minor nuclear holocaust. Additionally, many of the designers assumed a lightweight shielding material or even forcefields would eventually be invented (they still haven't) to protect passengers from harmful radiation. Analyses of the atomic car concept at the time determined that a 50-ton lead barrier would be necessary to prevent exposure.
