I am listing this car for my son as he does not have an eBay account. He is a mature responsible 40 year old adult, not  a teenager. Here is how he describes the car:    "I have owned the car for the last 7 years. I purchased it from the original owner in 2006. The car is very highly optioned. I have the original window sticker along with oil change and all maintenance records since new (see pics). The car is 95% original. Options include A/C, P/W, P/B, P/S, Cruise Control, Power lumbar seat, Power door locks, Power Mirrors, Factory equalizer for the stereo, Sunroof, Leather interior.  THE BAD:  Both front seats need recovering due to normal wear (See pics). (Back seat is perfect).  The temperature control knob is stuck in the middle....will not turn to hot or cold. It worked fine when I first got the car. I was told there is a cable form the knob to the heater box that tends to freeze up but I have not checked into it. Leather steering wheel shows some wear. Has a minor oil leak that leaves a small spot when it sits for a while but this is not at all major. THE GOOD:  Everything works except for the aforementioned temperature knob. All power accessories work. The car runs & drives great........no problems idling or shifting. As far as I can tell this car has no rust anywhere. The Pony wheels are factory Ford.....not re-pops. I have installed new weather stripping, new headliner, some trim pieces that showed wear, and new Flowmaster exhaust system from the catalytic converters back. The paint is not perfect but very presentable. Car has 149K miles. Overall, this is a very nice unmolested, well cared for, 2 owner car. I get compliments everytime I drive it. I encourage you to call me with any questions. My name is Daniel and my phone number is    502-409-3479   . Car is located in Louisville, KY. If you live close enough I would also encourage you to come by and personally inspect the car......it speaks for itself.  A $500.00 non-refundable deposit through PayPal is required within 48 hours of auction's end. Balance is to be paid in CASH ONLY at time of pick up."  I believe Daniel has described the car pretty well but, again, please contact him at 502-409-3479 for an honest description of any details or questions you may have.

Ford to update Sync, MyFord Touch software... again

Wed, 07 Aug 2013

Ford hasn't had the best luck with its MyFord Touch and Sync systems, as the finicky infotainment system has been subject to a critical whooping while customer issues have helped sink Ford's IQS scores. The automaker has made a concerted effort, though, to try and fix MyFord Touch. And while the results have been mixed, The Blue Oval is hoping its latest free update, set to go live next week, will make things better.
According to a report from The Detroit News, the new system promises streamlined voice commands with fewer levels between opening query and actual result. Ford is also addressing where certain options are selected on the touchscreen. Rather than working one of the four quadrants on the homescreen, users will be able to select anywhere within the quadrant to make adjustments.
While it might only be a band-aid for MFT's problems, the fact that Ford is still trying to improve it is a promising sign. It's going to take more than just this update to address the system's ills, though.

Pony-car sales war: Mustang vs. Camaro vs. Challenger [UPDATE]

Fri, Jul 3 2015

Update: An earlier version of this story misstated the 2015 Mustang's weight when compared with previous models. Additionally, we have added comments from Chevrolet in the text. The Ford Mustang has blown past the Chevy Camaro as America's best-selling pony car, and in June, it wasn't even close. The 'Stang outsold the Camaro 11,719 to 8,611 cars. The Camaro remained ahead of the Dodge Challenger, which sold 6,845 units. Even though the Camaro did post an 11.5-percent sales improvement in June, the competition is arguably stronger than at anytime since the 1970s muscle-car era. The Mustang's sales leapt a whopping 53.6 percent, while the Challenger saw a gain of 56 percent. Several factors are weighing down Camaro sales, including its lame duck status. Chevy is launching a new generation of the Camaro this year that's more than 200 pounds lighter, offers a new turbo four-cylinder engine option, and has a nicer interior than the outgoing model. Put simply: wait a few months and you can get a better car. It's also unlikely Chevy will jack up the price much, as it's historically kept the Camaro within reach of everyday enthusiasts. While Chevy fans wait in anticipation for their new sports car, Ford and Dodge have downshifted. The new Mustang, which went on sale last year, is faster and more sophisticated than its predecessor. It also offers a 2.3-liter EcoBoost four-cylinder, which Ford has credited for the Mustang's recent uptick and makes up 36 percent of the car's sales, Ford analyst Erich Merkle said. View 17 Photos June's performance allowed the Mustang to widen its sales gap with the Camaro this year. Through the first five months, Ford sold 68,290 Mustangs, a 54.4-percent increased compared with 2014. Chevy sold 42,593 Camaros, an 8.7-percent decrease. The Challenger – long the No. 3 pony car in sales volume – has seen its sales surge 41 percent this year to 37,011 units. Spokesman Monte Doran said Chevy expected that 2015 would be a "relatively soft year" for the Camaro. "Mustang is taking advantage of years' worth of pent-up demand for an independent rear suspension," he said. "When Camaro introduced an IRS, in 2009, it helped make us the best-selling performance car in America.
