1988 LX 5.O litre Mustang Convertible

Body and Interior-  Never Wrecked, all Vin tag stickers are on the correct places showing they are factory ford pieces.  The car has been repainted Once.  The seats have been recovered in original ford Black covers.  Nicely done job. The car has new brakes and After market PONY R wheels in 17x9 rears and 17x8 fronts.  very good fit for the car.  Tires are worn but useable.  The passenger window is off track but both window motors work fine.  The top has no tears or problems and has a new power top motor but the switch has stopped working.  ZERO RUST anywhere on car top or bottom is very clean.  The Battery has been relocated to the trunk.

Motor and Trans-  The motor was taken out and gone through with all necessary parts being replaced.  GT40P heads and a Victor Jr. style intake with Carter racing carb with ProCharger Cold air system have been put on in place of the fuel injection and a Mallory Inline fuel pump with Holley fuel pressure regulator have also been installed in place of the intank fuel pump. Car has MSD ingition with Billet distributor.  After market Billet pulleys.  BBK headers with 2.5 in exhaust with flowmaster mufflers and stainless out the rear.  Car has a Griffin radiator with flex-a-lite 16 in fan and tranny cooler.  ATI AOD trans with Precision Industries 2500-2800 converter with  aluminum ford motorsports driveshaft.  8.8 rear with auburn posi and superior Alloy axles with 3.73 gears.

Needing addressed- The car is a nice driver but does show wear on paint, tires and just overall age.  The chips and scratches should be shown in pics.  The speedo amp and fuel gauges work.  the A/C is all there but I have not tried to get it working.  The Power top switch needs replaced.  The passenger side window needs put on track.  Door panels are just fair shape. Paint is ok but does have scratches. "shown in pics"  All the expensive items have been replaced just needs cleaned up and driven.  It is just sitting in my garage and I want the room so it must go.  I have been very honest about the car and you are more than welcome to ask any questions or come see the car.

On Jan-01-14 at 22:04:13 PST, seller added the following information:

I have had questions about the cars performance and while there has been several thousands of dollars spent on this car to get the drivetrain to this level of quality I have not been able to test and tune the car since its new set up was installed due to my very serious health problems.  I have only driven the car on my street and it does seem to run strong but will need some fine tuning and adjustments as all new assemblies do.  The car is a very good platform for a nice all around performing setup but still needs some work to be completed.  Again I hate to beat up on my own car but I want the buyer to know as much about the car as I can before bidding.  There is about 7 to 8K invested in this car with all the upgrades but my reserve is set super low and will be a steal if someone gets it for what I have set the reserve at, so bid with confidence that this is not a piece of junk someone is trying to pawn off on ebay but will need some work to complete the project.  I also have some new frame connectors that go with the car that I have not installed yet so there is another $200 free gift  :)

Thanks for looking and questions.  Good luck and God bless you with a Happy New Year.

Chip Ganassi Racing switches to the Ford EcoBoost-powered Riley Daytona Prototype

Wed, 06 Nov 2013

Chip Ganassi Racing with Felix Sabates (CGRFS) announced yesterday at Ford's SEMA press conference that it will field a Ford-Riley Daytona Prototype with the 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 in the 2014 United SportsCar Championship (USCC). CGRFS is the second team to commit to the new Ford-Riley car, behind Michael Shank Racing (which has already used the racecar to break a 26-year-old top-speed record at Daytona International Speedway).
"Over the last 10 seasons we have been able to experience a great deal of success in Grand-Am," Chip Ganassi says, "and now with the dawn of the new United SportsCar Championship we feel that Ford power will be a key ingredient to writing the next chapter of our sports car program."
In the last Grand-Am season, CGRFS raced a BMW-Riley Daytona Prototype. The team has won seven Daytona Prototype championships, all in the past ten years. Scott Pruett and Memo Rojas return as the team's prototype co-drivers, and will attend their maiden race in the Ford-Riley at the Rolex 24 at Daytona in January.

Ford faces class-action lawsuit for selling vehicles without brake override systems

Fri, 29 Mar 2013

A total of 20 Ford customers are suing the automaker in a class-action lawsuit for selling vehicles "vulnerable to unintended acceleration." According to Reuters, the suit names 30 models built between 2002 and 2010 with electronic throttle control systems but without a brake override system. Those include the 2004-2012 F-Series pickups and the 2005-2009 Lincoln Town Car. Adam Levitt, a partner with the law firm of Grant & Eisenhofer says the plaintiffs in the case want "to be compensated for their economic losses by having overpaid for cars that contained defects." Levitt contends that the plaintiffs would not have bought their vehicles or paid less for them had they known there was no brake override system in place.
Ford began installing brake override systems in its vehicles beginning in 2010. In response to the lawsuit, Ford has pointed to research by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration that indicated that unintended acceleration is mostly caused by driver error, saying in a statement that, "NHTSA's work is far more scientific and trustworthy than work done by personal injury lawyers and their paid experts."
Belville et al v. Ford Motor Co. will be heard in US District Court in the Southern District of West Virginia.

2015 Ford Edge holds line on pricing, starts at $28,100*

Tue, 04 Nov 2014

The Ford Edge gets an updated platform, bolder styling and a standard 2.0-liter turbocharged EcoBoost engine pumping out 245 horsepower and 270 pound-feet of torque for the 2015 model year. You might expect that all those new features would result in a big price bump, but you'd be wrong. Ford is keeping costs identical to the 2014 model with a starting MSRP of $28,100 (*plus an $895 destination charge), according to Edmunds. Ford spokesperson William Mattiace confirmed the numbers to Autoblog.
That's a pretty good deal, but the real ticket here might be the model's Sport trim. Buyers get a 2.7-liter, twin-turbocharged V6 EcoBoost engine with over 300 horsepower and standard adaptive steering for $28,600 plus destination. That's just $500 more than the base model.
Pricing for the Titanium trim has not yet been announced, but it'll be a short wait to find out. Mattiace tells Autoblog that full pricing and the configuration for the model will launch on November 5. He has also confirmed that the 2015 Edge will begin hitting dealers in the first quarter of 2015.
