1988 Ford Mustang LX 5.0 Convertible 5spd. 46k original miles.

Oxford white exterior with white/scarlet red interior and white power convertible top. Garaged since new. Never used in bad weather.  Factory original 5.0L - 5spd car.

The car is all stock original , still has the complete factory original ford exhaust system , air silencer in fender , factory shifter , etc. Never messed with. The car retains all of its original body panels with the VIN labels except for the right rear quarter panel , this was replaced when the car was fairly new. Mostly original paint. Headlight lenses are the originals and are crystal clear. All of the black trim around the car is original and nice deep black color. The paint on the car has a very nice shine , no rust , clean strut towers and underside , etc.  The interior is very nice shape as well , clean , no stains or burns.  The white convertible top is the original , never replaced , it does have some slight cracking along the edges where it folds.  There are a few small parking lot dings that you would expect from an old car.  Also there are some stone chips in the paint behind where the tires kick up.

The car has had the following items replaced recently - 2 front struts , 4 rear shocks , radiator , heater core , all hoses , serpentine belt , all tune-up parts , transmission fluid , rear axle fluid.  The car also has a set of professionally installed welded in subframe connectors.

The car is in exceptional shape for a 25 year old original car. It has always had exceptional care and been treated very well.

I also have all of the paperwork / history on the car since new. I have all the receipts for the work done on the car , oil changes , original dealer plate frame , owners manuals , etc.

Runs and drives very well.  Everything operates as it should.  You would have a difficult time finding a better kept original 5.0L mustang convertible!

This 2,000-hp Mustang is in serious need of wheelie bars

Tue, 25 Feb 2014

The Ford Mustang on the right is drag racing with the standard technique. The Mustang on the left, driven by David Measell, is using a new "rear bumper only" technique that evidently surprised everyone at the South Georgia Motorsports Park strip - including Measell.
Measell said his outfit just bought the car the week before the event, noting that it has more than 2,000 horsepower. Speaking of his "flying" run, Measell said, "We turned it up to dip on down," by which he meant they turned up the power in order to get his time down. Turns out all that power and all that traction sent the nose straight up into the air almost as soon as the race began.
He told an interviewer afterward that this was his first race in a "regular car" since he normally drives a pro-mod. "I like my wheelie bars," he concluded. You can see how he got there in the video below.

The big dune jump and the damage done

Mon, 20 May 2013

The Silver Lake sand dunes see their fair share of well-built trophy trucks executing impressive jumps. Drivers build insane pieces of machinery for the express purpose of sailing through the air like mad men and women.
Mike Higgins is no stranger to the area. His heavily modified Ford trophy truck has gone flying through the sky on more than one occasion, but he recently bit off more than he could chew. After hitting a particularly lofty dune, Higgins went airborne for a ridiculous 180 feet before becoming intimately familiar with the finer points of gravity.
While Higgins nailed the jump, his landing fell short of wowing the judges. The impact very nearly broke his truck in two. Despite the mechanical mayhem, the driver walked away without a scratch, proving that occasionally miracles really do happen. You can check out the jump and the subsequent destruction below for yourself. Be warned: there's a fair bit of foul language.

2015 Ford F-150 appearance guide takes the truck from mild to wild with options

Thu, 31 Jul 2014

We already know that the 2015 Ford F-150 has a base price coming in at just $395 more than the 2014 model, despite all of the new standard tech and aluminum-intensive construction in the upcoming version. Now the Blue Oval is finally giving us an idea of what that extra money actually buys customers, with the release of the appearance guide for its latest pickup.
The guide basically explains everything you could want to know about what changes occur among the multitude of trims on the 2015 F-150. There are five levels for the new truck. Although, that is something of a misnomer because most of them are also available with either Sport or Chrome packages, plus the FX4 Off-Road option with Hill Descent Control, an electronic-locking rear axle, off-road shocks and skid plates. With 13 available colors, including 4 new ones, and 14 wheel designs in various sizes, pickup buyers should have no problem specing one to fit their style.
The lineup starts out with the base XL with a black grille and fascia and 17-inch wheels. However, across most of the range the Sport and Chrome packages are also available to add either body-color or chrome accents, respectively. Next up is the XLT with a standard chrome grille but also available with a black, billet-style one with a body-color surround. Things really start getting plush with the Lariat model with leather trim, a three-bar front end and 18-inch wheels. The King Ranch sticks with that look but adds power running boards, 20-inch wheels and two-tone paint. Finally, the top-dog Platinum is all about bling with yet another frontal design, chrome door handles and mirror caps, a big logo running across the tailgate and more.
