Year:1985 Mileage:10791
Location:

York, Pennsylvania, United States

For sale is my 1985.5 Mustang SVO.  Only 439 of these were made, making it one the rarest and most sought after Mustang's ever.  This is a one owner and only has 10,791 original miles, possibly one of the lowest original mile cars in existence & still has its original paint (2A medium in canyon red), the original Goodyear VR50 Gatorbacks (29 years old), original dual exhaust & its original 1985 date-coded spark plug wires.  The only thing known to be replaced was the battery!!  The original gas shocks are still on the rear hatch but are worn out.

This car comes with tons of dealer & Ford factory documentation, the bill of sale, original manuals, 3 shop repair manuals (not pictured), warranty card keys from Ford, a key chain from the dealer, a certificate of origin.  Also included is the very rare SVO insert that you had to ask to get and the 85 and 85.5 dealer sales brochure, etc.

The car was undercoated, rust proofed and had paint sealant done by the dealer (see the original invoice attached).

All SVO's made after April of 85 became an 85.5. This car was built in June, as is why it is an 85.5.  Also known as the best handling Mustang EVER!!!

The car has:

  • 2.3 intercooled turbo 4 cylinder
  • horsepower is 205 @ 5000 RPM
  • Hurst shifter
  • Borg Warner T-5 transmission
  • 4-wheel disc brakes
  • Koni  struts & shocks
  • front/rear sway bars
  • fuel switch to calibrate engine for type of fuel used
  • function hood scoop (forces air through intercooler)
  • tinted glass
  • stereo cassette
  • premium sound light group
  • power window & locks
  • air conditioning
  • rear window defroster
  • fog lamps

This is a remarkable car & in excellent shape.  It runs great, handles super well...and remember is also only has 10,791 ORIGINAL MILES!  New car smell comes with the interior, it's like you're going back in time and buying a NEW SVO MUSTANG!

Detroit Three autoworkers could get huge bonuses

Mon, 06 Jan 2014

For a long time, being a line worker for one of the Detroit Three has meant living with an uncertain future. With the health of American automakers on the rise, though, things are also starting to look up for the men and women building the cars. The latest sign that things aren't bad? Big profit-sharing checks.
According to The Detroit News, Ford, General Motors and Chrysler could end up paying over $800 million to 130,000 workers as part of a profit-sharing plan. According to The News, the economic impact of these profits in Michigan alone could exceed $400 million, besting the NFL's Super Bowl, MLB's All-Star Game and the NHL's Winter Classic for their economic impact.
This is the third straight year the Detroit Three have issued profit-sharing checks to UAW employees, and for many workers, the checks are as close as they'll get to a raise, due to the most recent contract between the union and the manufacturers. On average, employees at GM and Ford receive $1 for every $1 million in North American (not just the US) pre-tax profits. Chrysler, meanwhile, gets a similar deal, although the Auburn Hills-based company calculates profit sharing using 85 percent of the brand's global profits.

Ken Block walks you through his new 'Hoonigan Racing' HQ

Tue, 24 Jun 2014

Ken Block seems like one hell of a nice guy. I ran into him at CES this past January, and he dropped the video games he was playing to chat with me for a while. His crew also recently gave our Steve Ewing a tour of the offices you're about to see on this video. Good guy to know.
As it turns out, they're some fairly cool new digs. Dubbed 'Hoonigan Racing Division HQ,' the office is open to Ford Focus ST and Fiesta ST owners who attend the driving program offered out at Miller Motorsports Park. The very same program that Ewing reported on just recently.
Or, if you've no plans to buy an ST or travel to Utah any time soon, you can let Block show you around himself in this MTV Cribs-style video. With interior decorating that relies heavily on shipping containers and luxurious amenities like a ping pong table, 10 refrigerators and a bear(?), there's no lack of eye-candy in the driverly HQ. (Judging by Block's outfit, you'll probably not go thirsty if you're a Monster drinker, either.) Take the tour along with the Gymkhana master, below.

Ford making Fusion production moves to challenge Camry on volume

Mon, 26 Aug 2013

The Ford Fusion may already beat the Toyota Camry in terms of models offered, transaction price and sales increase so far this year, but if the Fusion wants to make a run at the title of best-selling car in the US, Bloomberg reminds us that volume is key. Opening a second production line at the Flat Rock, MI assembly plant will reportedly allow Ford to produce around 350,000 Fusions annually, which compares Toyota's ability to crank out 475,000 Camrys and Honda's capacity to build around 450,000 Accords.
For the Fusion, that's an extra 100,000 units compared to the car's current pace, and the article adds that the Fusion is "Ford's best shot" to regain the passenger car sales crown - a title it (or any other US automaker, for that matter) hasn't held since the mid-1990s. Despite hiccups with recalls and fuel economy numbers, the Ford Fusion is still red hot when it comes to sales. Fusion sales are up 13 percent so far this year (compared to a 0.6 percent decrease for Camry), and its average transaction price of $26,343 is about $2,300 more than its rival from Toyota.
The Fusion's popularity has helped Ford improve its sales in California; the Dearborn-based automaker has a market share of 18 percent in the state, which is just a fraction of a percentage behind Honda. And this popularity should continue as Ford ups Fusion production and expands the model lineup even further for 2014 with a new 1.5-liter EcoBoost engine soon to become an option.
