Hello, Up for auction is my 1984 Ford Mustang 5.0 (302 cu in) Convertible. I bought this car in California last year and I drove it home to New York, so this is a rust free hardly touched car. It does have some dings and nicks (2 on the hood, 1 on the front fender & 1 on the drivers door) but is straight and rust free. This car still has all the pollution equipment intact as it still passed the California emisssion inspection when I bought it. This car has a 5-speed manual transmission which shifts great, sometimes you have to feather it while going into 5th gear, but that has not been a issue for me. This car runs strong and straight and does not burn oil or leak any either as it has 96,467 original miles right now but will go up a bit as I am driving it still, the carb is the stock 4 barrel and I had it rebuilt when I got the car home last year. The interior is in good shape, I put in a new console door and someone reupolstered the seats in a gray and black cloth, the carpet is original and if I kept the car I would replace it because of fading, the dash is cracked (they all crack) and is covered by a black carpet dash cover, ok for now but again, if I was keeping it I would buy a plastic dash pad cover (on ebay for $129), the door panels are original, all the gauges work, as well as the A/C, which had a rebuilt compresser and new accumulator installed 2 years ago. It does have a new AM/FM CD palyer with two ways to play an iPod, and it also has a remote, and comes with the manual, speakers are original. All the power windows go up and down, although slow, the passenger rear window only goes down with the switch in the back seat, so I usually leave it up. The power steering works fine too. The car also has an alarm and power door locks with a remote entry and exit, passenger side does not always open with the remote. The convertible roof goes up and down with out issue and comes with the boot cover as seen in the pictures, the rear window is glass and is fine, there is a little seam separation of about an inch and a half which I show in a picture, I put a small patch on it, but I took it off for the picture, no water has got in as I cover the car when I know its going to rain and I do not drive it in the rain, but I could without incident as the wipers work fine and no water has gotten in when I wash the car. The tires are 17 inch Kumho's all around, the 2 fronts have 85% tread, but are older tires, the 2 rear tires I just bought from Tire Rack online and only have 400 or so miles on them. The wheels are chrome and look good, but there is some bubbling of the chrome between some of the spokes, but unless your bending down and looking, it is not noticeable. The car is single exhaust with a cat that is in great shape and does sound nice. The power brakes work fine and have plenty of life left, discs in the front and drums in the back. The radiator is a 2 year old aluminum 3 core. The paint is bright and not faded, it is a re-paint from probably 4 or 5 years ago, like I mentioned before, there is 5 or so nicks in the paint and there is some chips on the passenger rear quarter panel behind the door, but no rust anywhere, even underneath on the frame. Please be advised that the paint does have other paint flaws that are normal wear, I just pointed out the bigger ones either by pictures or previous descriptions. There is a spot on the rear bumper where it looks like someone backed into the car at low speed (see picture). I also put on a black leather hood bra which looks good to me, but it is easily removed, plus it covers up a paint chip. The lower passenger front valance has some chipping and stress lines, not from a car accident, but when I had the car inspected last year the car was sitting waiting for me to pick it up and a small sink hole, yes a sink hole, opened up under the front tire and the car dropped down and hit the ground, all in slow motion as I was there and it happened in front of me. The repair shop promised to pay to fix it, but he has reneged. I will be including the original manual as well as an after market repair manual. This car is very nice driver and presents well and I do get the thumbs up while driving it around, but it is not a show car, even thought I have put it in shows, I know it will be just looked at as a nice clean straight 1984 5.0 convertible driver. I have tried to explain everything to the best of my knowledge. Please ask questions. The car is sold as is, where is. US buyers only, please. The buyer is responsible for pick up and arragements for pick up. There will be a non-refundable deposit of $300.00 within 24 hours after auctions end and the balance can be in cash or bank check/money order and the title will not be released until funds clear. Thanks for looking, and Happy bidding.

Jay Leno sees how the other half lives with CHP cop cars new and old
Mon, 01 Jul 2013Comedian Jay Leno is changing gears from driving fast cars to checking out some of the police cruisers that regularly chase down and dish out punishment to those fast cars. In this episode of Jay Leno's Garage, we get the lowdown on the modifications made to the Ford Explorer for the Interceptor package (which looks pretty tough in its California Highway Patrol livery).
The new Ford is cool, but cooler still are the pack of classic CHP cars that Jay has along for the episode. A 1982 Mustang, 1966 Dodge Polara, 1970 Mercury Monterey and 2000 Crown Victoria are all in the shop. Better still, Jay lays out an argument for ones of the classic cruisers as the best cop car of all time. Get your guesses in now, and then scroll down to watch and learn.
MotorWeek finds nice things to say about the 1993 Ford Probe
Tue, Mar 8 2016This latest in MotorWeek's series of Retro Reviews continues its recent trend of remembering the massive glut of sports coupes that hit the market in the '90s. While vehicles like the Mitsubishi 3000GT, Mazda RX-7, and Ford Mustang all enjoy solid reputations down to this day, the 1993 Ford Probe, well... doesn't. As you'll soon see, though, the show's opinion suggests the coupe's second generation isn't really all that bad. Turns out they just weren't particularly sporty. Ford and Mazda developed the Probe together, and the Japanese company supplied both the base 115-horsepower 2.0-liter four-cylinder and the 164-hp 2.5-liter V6 in the GT trim. The original's pseudo-angular look gave way to a much smoother shape for the second generation. Of course, pop-up headlights remained, which were a design hallmark for many of this era's sports coupes. After driving it, MotorWeek proclaims the Probe is "a winner" and considers the handling a "delight." That's not a big surprise, considering that in those days, a car had to be really bad not to get a decent review from Television's Original Automotive Magazine. However, the show hints at some of the reasons the coupe isn't so well remembered today. Even the GT reportedly suffers from soft springs and lots of understeer, which sounds like exactly the opposite anyone hoping to drive the coupe enthusiastically would want. To sum it all up, we're sure you're just as happy as we are that Ford went back on its initial plan to shelve the Mustang in favor of the front-drive Probe. Related Video:
Feds open investigation into Chevy Express, Ford Freestar rust issues
Wed, 28 Dec 2011'Tis the season... for road salt. And with that, comes rust. And what does rust bring? Well, for Ford and General Motors, a National Highway Traffic Safety Administration investigation. According to The Detroit News, NHTSA is looking into potential recalls issues with Chevrolet Express vans and Ford Freestar minivans.
The feds have received five complaints that rust has caused leaking fuel filler pipes on 2003 Express vans. Separately, seven complaints have been filed over excessive rust in the rear wheel wells of 2004 Ford Freestar and Mercury Monterey minivans. The Freestar and Monterey went out of production in 2007. Neither issue has resulted in any crashes or injuries, according to the report.
