I am listing my 1970 Ford Mustang Mach 1. I bought this car several years ago and it has been a wonderful car to own and drive. I bought this car from Spokane Washington and had it shipped to Oklahoma. The person who owned it before me had it for several years and worked as a Ford Mechanic at the dealership where this car was sold new. I had the engine refreshed about 2000 miles back because of low oil pressure. The bore was fine so we didn't do anything to the cylinders. I have had the clutch replaced recently and other than that I don't know anything the car needs. I had the car stored at our home in Wyoming for several years and now have it home in Oklahoma. The car has the deluxe interior with wood grain in the dash and doors. I had the original AM 8 Track modified years ago to allow you to play your ipod through a wire jack that stores inside the console. The car has a 351 Cleveland 4 Barrel Carburetor along with the 4 Barrel Cleveland Heads. There is an original Shaker Hood Scoop and I have added the rear slats. The rear seat folds down and I had the upholstery on both front seats along with the foam replaced a few years ago. The brakes are power and front disc. The car has power steering also. I changed out the 14" wheels to 15" with new BFG Radial TA's about a year ago. I have included the Marti Report with the photos here. It is my understanding from a conversation with the previous owner that the 351C engine is out of a 1973 Mustang and not original to this car. The heads and other items were transferred to this block. I have had this car on a lift at different times and did not see any evidence of rust. When I bought this car in 2005 it had about 94,000 miles and now has just over 101,000... I drive the car now and then about 65 miles to Oklahoma City to a car show or cruise in and then back home. The car has always driven perfectly.

Ford and GM link bonus checks to quality scores

Tue, 29 Apr 2014

The poor first quarter earnings of Ford and General Motors are having an effect all the way up the food chain. Both automakers struggled with recalls in the first three months of the year, and, according to The Detroit News, they have responded by increasing the percentage of bonuses tied to vehicle quality for salaried workers, including top executives.
GM announced that 25 percent of bonuses (up from 10 percent) for all salaried workers would be tied to its vehicle quality standards. The automaker revealed in its financial report that it spent $1.3 billion on recall-related repairs in the first quarter, and net income was down 86 percent.
Ford also increased the quality proportion of bonuses for about 26,000 salaried workers all the way up to CEO Alan Mulally from 10 percent to 20 percent. The company announced in its report that the amount paid out in warranty and recall claims was about $400 million higher than expected in the first quarter. Its net income fell 39 percent from the previous year. "The change reflects how critical quality is to our overall business," said spokesperson Todd Nissen speaking to Autoblog.

Sunday Drive: Volvo hits a crossover home run, and people still love sports cars

Sun, Sep 24 2017

Looking back at the week that just was clearly tells us at least three things. First, crossovers don't have to be boring. Second, people still love sports cars, from the attainable (Audi TT RS) to the fanciful (Mercedes-AMG GT C). And finally, the traditional German trio of premium luxury brands had better not rest on their laurels, because credible challengers are coming in from every direction. The biggest reveal of the week, at least judging by the interest of Autoblog readers, was the Volvo XC40. Not only is the little 'ute a looker, it introduces some innovative new buying/leasing schemes designed to appeal to an audience accustomed to trading in and trading up every couple of years. Think of Volvo's flat-fee lease as you would a smartphone contract, and you'll be on the right track. Genesis looks to have a hit on its hands in the form of the G70 sport sedan. We took a Korean-spec model for a spin and found a lot to like about the upstart contender. We can't wait to sample one here in the United States to see how it stacks up against the Audi A4, BMW 3 Series, and Mercedes-Benz C-Class. In other news, we're still really excited to see a production Ford Ranger Raptor. But if you just can't wait for the official reveal — it's OK, neither can we — take a look at the renderings in our post down below. As always, tune in to Autoblog next week for a front-row seat to all the happenings worth following in the automotive industry. Ford reports 58% drop in Q2 profits on European losses

Wed, 25 Jul 2012

Ford Motor Company announced Wednesday that it has posted a $1 billion profit for the second quarter of 2012. That sounds like good news for the Blue Oval, until you take into account that Ford posted a $2.4 billion profit for Q2 a year ago. That is a substantial 58 percent loss.
Ford also posted $465 million in international losses, with $404 million of those losses coming directly from Europe. The automaker also increased its European loss projections to $1 billion for 2012, due in large part to the economic crisis overseas, which has resulted in increased unemployment and decreased consumer confidence.
