1969 FORD MUSTANG MACH 1 S-CODE BB 390 4V

88422 MILES. I’M THE SECOND OWNER OF THE CAR. ORIGINAL MOTOR SEIZED IN 1978 WHERE IT SAT COVERED IN SANTA
BARBARA, CA UNTIL I ACQUIRED IT IN 2000. THIS CLASSIC CAR BEGAN A MULTI YEAR BUMPER TO BUMPER RESTORATION KEEPING
EVERY POSSIBLE ORIGINAL COMPONENT INCLUDING MOST ENGINE AND DRIVETRAIN COMPONENTS, DASHBOARD, DASH PAD, CENTER
CONSOLE AND RIM BLOW STEERING WHEEL, AS WELL AS ALL EXTERIOR TRIM EXCEPT BUMPERS. NEARLY ALL SHEET METAL IS
ORIGINAL WITH THE EXCEPTION OF DAMAGE TO THE RIGHT REAR OF THE CAR WHICH HAS BEEN PROPERLY RESTORED. THE BODY WAS
TAKEN DOWN TO BARE METAL BEFORE PAINT.

THE NUMBERS MATCHING BLOCK DID NOT LAST THROUGH ITS OVERHAUL SO THE RESTORATION WAS COMPLETED IN 2008 WITH AN
EXPERTLY-BUILT YEAR-APPROPRIATE 390 4V BIG BLOCK AND OVERHAULED C6 AUTO TRANS WITH SHIFT KIT. ENGINE AND
TRANSMISSION LESS THAN 1000 MILES. ALTHOUGH NOW A 10 YEAR RESTORATION, IT HOLDS UP BEAUTIFULLY INSIDE AND OUT. I
JUST HAD A $3000 PAINT TOUCH UP SERVICING TO ADDRESS A FEW HAIR LINE BLEMISHES THAT HAVE OCCURRED HERE IN THE AUTIN
HEAT OVER THE YEARS. YOU CAN SEE MINOR FADING IN A FEW SPOTS BUT IS STILL ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS.

IT HAS ALWAYS BEEN GARAGED AND IS VERY MUCH A PRIZED POSSESSION. NO CORNERS CUT. ALWAYS ABOVE AND BEYOND. I HAVE
SPARED NO EXPENSE. MY ONLY REGRET IS NOT DRIVING IT MORE BUT I DIDN’T WANT TO PILE ON THE MILES. IT MOSTLY WENT
ON SUNDAY DRIVES.

Mulally wanted to kill Lincoln as late as last year, Fields vows to turn it around

Mon, 30 Jun 2014

Lincoln fans might want to give incoming Ford CEO Mark Fields a pat on the back for having a hand in saving the brand from the chopping block last year. He's among the people spearheading the rejuvenation of the division away from its stodgy image to appeal to younger customers.
According to two unnamed sources speaking to Bloomberg, CEO Alan Mulally was ready to kill Lincoln last year. Following the slow production ramp-up of the MKZ combined a with a costly ad campaign, Mulally was frustrated and openly suggested dropping the brand. However, Fields and Jim Farley, Ford's marketing boss, convinced the CEO that the brand was worth saving. They also created a plan to prevent similar problems for new models in the future.
It seems that one part of the strategy may involve waiting until new models are at dealers before starting a big ad campaign for them. Lincoln global director, Matt VanDyke, recently told Autoblog that the division is holding off on a full marketing push behind the new MKC crossover to prevent the supply problems that plagued the MKZ last year. Its big offensive begins in the fall when the CUVs are at all of the dealers and consumers are at home watching more TV. VanDyke also told Bloomberg that Fields, Farley and Joe Hinrichs, Ford president of the Americas, have more direct oversight over new product launches now.

Ford adds 850 jobs to build 2015 F-150

Tue, 14 Oct 2014

Pickup trucks tend not to advance at quite the same pace as the rest of the industry. That's what makes the new Ford F-150 so remarkable, jettisoning its old steel construction in favor of aluminum. It's a game changer that Ford is betting big on, and in anticipation of surging demand, the Blue Oval automaker is adding 850 new jobs to put the thing together.
Those 850 new employees will be centered at Ford's Rouge complex in Michigan - with 300 at Dearborn Stamping, 50 more at Dearborn Diversified and 500 at the Dearborn Truck facility, the latter of which has already kicked off what Ford describes as "the largest manufacturing transformation in decades." Old manufacturing equipment is being replaced with the latest technologies, and even the Ford Rouge Factory Tour is undergoing a complete overhaul.
The new jobs come as part of the commitments Ford made to the UAW in 2011 to create 12,000 hourly jobs in the United States by 2015 - a number which Ford has already exceeded at 14,000. Over 4,000 of those are centered in southeastern Michigan.

2015 Ford Focus

Tue, 14 Oct 2014

Sitting down at the pre-drive briefing with Ford engineers ahead of sampling the refreshed 2015 Focus, water bottles clinked as we wet our whistles before Q&A. While pouring a glass, we noticed something stamped on the bottle label: "1L." One liter. We were palming the exact displacement of the EcoBoost engine our group was about to drive. This was undoubtedly coincidence (such bottles litter every conference and dinner table in Europe) but it served to drive home just how small the total swept volume of Ford's wunderkind powerplant really is. It's tiny.
Of course, this isn't our first run-in with the little triple - we've sampled its turbocharged charms before in Ford's smaller Fiesta. At that time, we found it had plenty of poke for the subcompact, but the larger C-segment Focus carries around another 450 pounds or so and pushes a wider profile through the air. Would the three-cylinder have the stuffing to make the most of the Focus' athletic chassis, or would it be a letdown? Would it be the same as it was when we tested it in a Euro-spec Focus a couple of years ago? There was nothing left for it but to head out on the bucolic roads surrounding Versailles the day after the Paris Motor Show and find out for ourselves.
