1969 Mustang Mach 1 in it's original Raven Black exterior and black interior. Have owned the car for a couple of
years and like others it's time to make space and time for the other Mustangs and Camaro's I own. I will break
down the car in sections so it's easier to read:
Exterior: Paint is very nice with a mile deep shine as you can see in the pictures. Car still retains it's
original quarters, doors, fenders, front valance, rear tail panel and roof. I'm sure hood has been changed since
it is a ram air hood. Floor was replaced with a one piece floor due to the glue in windows leaking over the
decades and keeping the carpet wet. Floors rusted from the inside out. Underside is very detailed out and is in
the factory type red primer. NO RUST on this car. Hood has a small dimple under the trim ring for the ram air but
you can see it if you look hard enough. Otherwise, no scratches or dings on the car.
Drivetrain: As stated, all numbers matching. Engine, tranny, rearend still have all their factory tags on them,
engine and tranny have vin stamped on them as well. Car runs great and has a lot of get up and go between 2nd and
3rd gear. Engine is powered by Edelbrock E street EFI and Sump kit and flips on with the turn of the key every
time. Factory power steering and power disc brakes have been added to the car as well. Ram Air set up uses the
original bottom part of the air cleaner base which gives it the original look. Not the fiberglass bases that make
it stick up way to high. Exhaust is flowmasters that exit through the original dual tips in the rear. Wheels and
tires are new and only have a couple hundred miles on them.
Interior: Interior is pretty much all new and has been restored over the last two years. Fold down rear seat has
been added. Clock and map light work. Has vintage air a/c that blows nice and cold. Has modern radio that looks
old but you can use IPod and stuff like that with it. Also has tablet witch shows all your internals of the
engine. Interior is covered with dynamat from the firewall to the gas tank and makes for a much quitter ride.
Rear seat is original. Only piece missing is the rear panel that goes above the trap door.

Does the new 2015 Ford Mustang have a burnout control system?

Tue, 10 Dec 2013

Whether it's lane departure warning, blind-spot monitoring or automatic emergency braking, most of the electronic systems we see emerging on new vehicles focus on safety. But there are some there just for enthusiasts. We're talking about systems like automatic throttle blipping for perfect downshifts, or launch control to get that textbook acceleration from a standstill. But the latest system could prove just the opposite of the latter.
Although it has given us most of the details, Ford is still keeping certain elements of its new Mustang secret. But emerging reports may have the skinny on one system which Ford is trying is darnedest to keep under its hat for the time being. That, according to unnamed sources cited by Motor Authority, is burnout control.
The system is reportedly designed to help novices execute the perfect smokey burnout - sort of like launch control, but specifically the opposite. The system could, according to elaborative speculation, lock the front brakes while spooling up the engine to optimal revolutions before dumping (or indicating the driver to do dump) the clutch. A cloud of tire smoke and a long pair of skid marks would then ensue.

Ford Mustang 50th anniversary edition brings in $170k

Tue, 30 Sep 2014

Just the other day, we reported on the first Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat selling for a whopping $825,000 at auction. But impressive as that sum was, the Challenger wasn't the only sought-after modern muscle car to cross the Barrett-Jackson auction block in Las Vegas this past weekend. So did this rare Ford Mustang.
The last of 1,964 special-edition 50 Years Limited Edition pony cars sold for a princely $170,000, with proceeds benefiting the Edith and Benson Ford Heart & Vascular Institute, a branch of the Henry Ford Health System.
The pony car in question is based on the 2015 Ford Mustang GT and upgrades with a performance package and nearly every option on the book, along with a unique appearance package to set it apart in celebration of the Mustang's 50th anniversary. It's available in two exclusive shades - Wimbledon white or Kona blue - with either a manual or automatic transmission. Only 1,964 highly symbolic examples were to be built, and this was the last of them.

Detroit's new fleet of donated police cars have safety issues [w/video]

Wed, 23 Oct 2013

In a show of generosity in mid-August, Detroit's business leaders donated $8 million to the Police Department and Fire Department in order to buy 100 new police vehicles and 23 EMS ambulances. But now officers have discovered - and complained - that the police vehicles have glaring safety issues, Deadline Detroit reports. It is not made clear what models of the fleet vehicles - which include police versions of the Ford Taurus, the Chevrolet Caprice and the Dodge Charger - are affected by the safety issues.
Officers reportedly have complained that the Plexiglass partition separating front-seat officers and back-seat prisoners is easily breached, and that the front passenger seat is installed too close to the dashboard. Prisoners who manage to writhe out of their handcuffs can bend the Plexiglass and reach into the cockpit, and sitting too close to the dashboard can render airbags more dangerous and make officers more vulnerable to injury in a crash.
Mark Diaz, president of the Detroit Police Officers Association, received the complaints and reportedly said the vehicles would get safety updates addressing the issues. But Deadline Detroit reports that it checked some of the offending police cars and, as of the last few days, they hadn't been updated.
