This 1968 Mustang GT is a very rare and hard to find Fastback. These do not come up for sale to often in this
highly sought after configuration. In addition to its verified 1 of 1 build, this car retains a large amount of
its originality, only being repainted in the 1980's and never restored!

Exterior:
The highland green paint shows very well for being over 35+ years old. There is only 1 minor imperfection in the
hood, which is a small ding, noted in the detailed pictures. The white sidewall tires are brand new, including the
spare.

Interior:
The interior is like new and everything works as it should. All of the belts and shoulder harness retain the
factory tags. All the factory stamps on the HVAC and under-dash components are visible. The top of the dash has
some minor bubbling.

Trunk:
The factory spare wheel and jack are in place. The full factory quarters are visible with the red oxide primer.
The rear quarters retain the factory sound deadening. During the repaint, it appears that about 4-6" of the lower
quarters were replaced, as they always rust in this spot. The original tar mat is still in place on top of the gas
tank. There is also a 1969 sealed fire extinguisher for car shows. The matching mustang bag in the truck is
outfitted with all replacement bulbs, belts, wires, etc.

Engine:
At some point, the carb and heads were removed. It now has a Holley carb and later 302 stamped heads. I have the
original Autolite carb and the original 302 4V heads. The engine bay is very clean and detailed. It is outfitted
with many of the factory components and parts throughout, including hoses, clamps, belts, decals, etc.

Undercarriage:
The underside was coated with a light undercoating many years ago. You can still clearly see it has the original
floors and no work was done. If you peel some of the coating off, the original red oxide shows through. The
factory rear and trans still have the tags in place. The correct transverse exhaust is in place.

Ford looks to protect logo from Toronto mayor followers

Fri, 15 Nov 2013

One is a member of the Detroit Three and the maker of the Mustang, Fusion, Explorer and F-150. The other is an admitted loudmouthed, drunk-driving, crack-smoking mayor in Canada. Unfortunately for one, it shares its name with the other. Yes, Ford Motor Company is going to great lengths to keep its iconic Blue Oval logo from being appropriated by supporters of besieged Toronto mayor Rob Ford.
At a United Way event earlier this week, some of Mayor Ford's fans showed up with shirts that featured the automaker's logo with the words "Ford Nation," on them. Naturally, Mayor Ford signed them. FoMoCo was quick to issue an unhappy statement:
"Ford did not grant permission for use of its logo. We view it as an unauthorized use of our trademark and have asked it to be stopped," spokesperson Jay Cooney said. There was also a statement from Ford of Canada's Twitter account after a user alerted the company:

Old vs. new debate gets new life with $25,000 Fiesta ST vs. E46 M3 showdown

Fri, 10 Jan 2014

You know who you are. There's probably a few of you reading; the ones that say, "Why would I spend $27,000 on a new Mazda MX-5 when I could get a used Chevrolet Corvette with more power." Yes, we're talking to you, used car proponents. While it is a fair argument, it's not like used cars don't come with drawbacks of their own, though.
In an attempt to put this new-versus-used argument to bed once and for all, Matt Farah of the The Smoking Tire has picked up a pair of $25,000 cars - a used, but lightly modified, 2003 BMW M3 and a 2013 Ford Fiesta ST. Naturally, there's a comparison.
Farah, as he's wont to do, does get into the nitty gritty of what each car is like to drive, and discusses the merits of used and new-car shopping. But as he rightly points out while testing the M3, "So, it is a good car. But like any used car, it really does depend on the individual car."
