I am listing my 1968 Mustang coupe. The car is currently stripped to bare metal. What you see is what you get, no hidden surprises. The body panels are lined up. It has new quarters, new Ford tooling fenders and original doors. The floors and frame are solid, as well as the cowls and the previous owner welded in sub-frame connectors. The drive train is a newly rebuilt 1968 302 bored .030 new pistons, ARP rod bolts, cut crank and 289 performer cam, double roller timing chain, new water/fuel pumps, new clutch. The heads are ported 1969 351W with screw in studs and roller rockers. It has a performer intake & Edelbrock carb. It also has a completely rebuilt wide ratio top-loader 4 speed and an 8" posi (equalock) rear with 3:00 ratio. The Mustang has manual steering & manual disc brakes (SSB), headers and dual exhaust. The car is running and driveable (if you reassembled the lighting, etc.) The engine & transmission have zero miles. I have a new seat upholstery kit (black) and I have the original interior panels and seats. The car also has a new heater core, and I rebuilt the heater box. Please look carefully at the photos and at the body lines, a lot of time has been spent getting it to this point, and it is basically ready for primer filler/wet sand & paint. The original color is sunlit gold, but I started jambing in black. The wheels on the car have good tires, they are 15". I have the original turn signal hood GT rear valence and front valence which are already painted. Please look carefully at the photos and ask any questions. I reserve the right to end the auction at any time for any reason. The car is driveable (onto a car carrier) and starts & runs excellent. Make your own shipping arrangements, but I will help if I can. The car is located in Southington, CT.06489. CT does not title vehicles this old, you will be provided with a bill of sale. Both door VIN# and dash VIN#'s match.

2014 Ford Fiesta 1.0L EcoBoost
Fri, 09 May 2014I'll be honest; when Ford first unveiled its 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6, I was skeptical. Past attempts at building turbocharged American cars were almost universally awful, I reasoned, so why would Ford's latest effort be any different? This may seem foolish today, considering the success that the growing EcoBoost range has achieved - particularly the 2.0-liter and 1.6-liter mills. Yet I once again found myself questioning Ford.
It's the makeup of the 1.0-liter, turbocharged three-cylinder slotted into the compact engine bay of this Fiesta that has a way of breeding doubt. Three-cylinder engines remain an extreme rarity in the US. What's more, they earned a less-than-desirable reputation for applications in the 1980s and 1990s, and my trepidation about this latest three-pot as a result.
As I found out, though, history is a poor informant of modern technology. The thrust available in other cars with the EcoBoost badge on the back has not gone missing here; something the International Engine of the Year committee has lauded. That august body named the 1.0-liter Ecoboost the best engine of 2012 and 2013. After a week of driving, it didn't take long for my fear of threes to get turned into something like that line of thinking.
Ford starting up 2.0L EcoBoost engine production in Ohio
Fri, 22 Feb 2013Joe Hinrichs, Ford's President of The Americas (pictured above), announced today that in late 2014, the automaker will be building the 2.0-liter EcoBoost four-cylinder at its Cleveland Engine Plant, a move requiring a $200-million investment and the hiring of 450 new employees. European-built Ford products will continue to source this engine from the Valencia, Spain plant where all of these EcoBoost four-cylinder engines are currently built, and the new Cleveland engines will be used for all North American-made models.
Ford is planning to build its popular EcoBoost engines regionally to maximize production capacity and meet customer demand. Last year, Ford sold 334,364 vehicles with EcoBoost engines in the US alone, and that number is expected to swell to more than 500,000 by the end of this year, with global sales expected to total 1.6 million. By 2015, Ford says that 95 percent of its nameplates will offer an EcoBoost engine.
One such vehicle that could be adding an EcoBoost engine, according to Automotive News, is none other than the 2015 Ford Mustang. The report says that Ford could use either the 2.0-liter EcoBoost or an upcoming 2.3-liter EcoBoost in the sixth-generation pony car.
Ford cranks up '32 Ford body production
Tue, 14 Jan 2014If you're going to build your own hot rod, you'll want to start with a '32 Ford 5-Window Coupe. Favored by American servicemen returning from World War II, the '32 Ford remains the very icon of the hot rod to this day. The trouble is there were only so many of them made in the first place, and finding one today can be a challenge. That's where reproduction models come in.
The aftermarket is replete with companies that will sell you a fiberglass body in the form of a '32 Ford coupe, but quality can be hit or miss. So to help meet demand among hot rod builders and enthusiasts, Ford has teamed up with United Pacific Industries to offer officially licensed body shells.
Announced at the SEMA show in November, the '32 Ford 5-Window Coupe body is made from stamped steel according to original specifications from original machinery where possible or reproduced machinery built to the same original specifications where necessary. The bodies are ready to accept vintage powertrains or crate motors from the Ford Racing catalog, and join the 9,000 other parts offered in the Ford Component Sales catalog - including similar reproduction bodies available for the 1965-70 Mustang and 1940 Ford Coupe. From there, the proverbial sky's the limit.
