Up for auction is a 1967 Mustang Coupe. Car was originally a straight 6 200, 4 lug car, which has been upgraded to an 302, front disk brakes and 5 lug package. Interior has been completely redone, everything is new, there is one spot in the headliner, new floor pans front to rear, new bumpers. Raditor support and front inner fenders has been replaced, also has new right fender and new passenger door skin, that goes with the car.  Also have used driver door. Came originally with the dealer installed under dash A/C, which was not in the car when I purchased it. Front disc brakes are brand new, with around 300 miles on them along with the tires. Car just needs some TLC, someone with the time to finish it. Has brand new gas tank and lines. Clear title in my name, I am the second owner of this vehicle, bought it from the family of the original owner. Buyer is responsible for acquiring transportation/shipping for the car. I reserve the right to end this auction at any time.  Only bid if you are serious about buying the car. This is a relist due to a buyer not paying for their winning bid. This is not a scam, this car is for sale at no reserve, my loss is your gain. There is over $3000 worth of new parts on this car, so bid to own it. Car is not drivable, needs front torsion bar mounts welded underneath the radiator support. Car does run, but due to a dead battery will not currently start. Only rust I have seen on the car is in the rear light area (passenger side), small spot in the outer cowl drivers side, and the bottom of the drivers fender, otherwise a very solid car, will also require the passenger side front torque box to be welded in, ( new torque box goes with the car). New hood hinges w/springs, interior, floor pans, front disc brakes, tires w/spare on same rim, bumpers, front still in box, many more new parts that go with the car when sold. I love Mustangs, just have to much in the fire with all the Fairlanes in the shop, car has to go, or will just sit here and rust away.

Also, the right quarter, had a lot of bondo, so I cleaned it out, and there are some holes from the previous owners fix, tried to fill some of them, holes are still there, there is no rust on the quarter that's why I was trying to save it.

1979 Dodge Li'l Red Express in Generation Gap showdown with 1933 Ford Pickup

Fri, 18 Jul 2014

Auto enthusiasts love a good debate, whether it's Mustang versus Camaro or Ferrari against Lamborghini. But how about a battle between two very different vintages of classic pickup trucks? In this case, the fight is between a 1979 Dodge Li'l Red Express and a 1933 Ford Model 46 truck with a flathead V8.
The shootout comes courtesy of the internet series Generation Gap, and its concept is super-simple. One guy prefers classics, and the other likes newer rides. They choose a category, pick two vehicles and put them head to head. In this case, neither is exactly modern, though. The Ford is more than old enough to receive Social Security checks, and the Dodge is hardly a young whippersnapper.
Other than both being pickups, these two models were made to serve very different functions. The Li'l Red Express was basically the progenitor of today's muscle trucks, with a big V8 that made it one of the quickest new models in its day (admittedly, 1979 was a rough time for automotive performance). On the other hand, the '33 Ford was just meant to work, with little pretense for anything else. One of the hosts describes it as "the simplest, most difficult" vehicle he's driven because of the tricky double clutchwork necessary to shift gears. Scroll down to watch the video and try to decide which of these two American classics you would rather have in your garage.

Project Ugly Horse alive and kicking at Road & Track

Thu, 29 Aug 2013

The hallways of the Autoblog campus are much quieter now that Zach Bowman has taken his prose, along with his welders, wrenches and hammers, over to the digital pages of Road & Track, but that doesn't mean our favorite project Mustang is gone forever. Project Ugly Horse is still coming along, and Zach has gifted us another update on his unfoxy Fox Body.
Last we saw of the Ugly Horse, Zach was strengthening up the '89 Mustang's chassis as he prepares to stuff the turbocharged, direct-injected EcoBoost engine of a Ford Focus ST under the hood. First things first, the old mill must go. Head on over to Road & Track to catch the latest chapter of Project Ugly Horse.
