1967 Ford Mustang C Code 289 V8 on 2040-cars
Jonesboro, Louisiana, United States
Vehicle Title:Clear
Make: Ford
Drive Type: rear
Model: Mustang
Mileage: 100,000
Trim: coupe
Up for bids is this 1967 ford mustang coupe. This is a older restoration that was what I would call a cheaper restoration. It was made into a nice daily driver but not a show car. Just a car that you could take out and enjoy. This car has had alot of work done to it but still needs some work. It would be driven daily now it just needs a new set of tires and some front end work. Probably a front end alignment and maybe a few other things. It is a factory 289 automatic car with A/C power steering, and power brakes. The A/C compressor is gone so the A/C does not work but everything is in the dash and there to make it work if you desire to. It cranks and runs good. I think it was restored around 2005-2007 somewhere in that range. The interior will need some work but alot of it has been redone. The car will need a headliner and seat covers at some point in time but could be used like it is. The dash pad, carpet, and door panels have been replaced and are new. The glass is good in the car. The door seal plates have been replaced. As for the body and the undercarriage. The floor pans and seat risers have been replaced and are all new. All the frame sections are good on the car. The trunk floor is good. The hood, trunk, doors, and trunk lid are good. I can tell there is some bondo in the rear quarters from looking at them but that is common unless you want to cut them off and replace them. You will find few 65-70 model mustangs with no rust in the rear quarter areas unless you cut all the sheetmetal off and replace them. I don't know how much but there is some. The passenger front fender got bent and the bottom from a blow out and will most likely need to be replaced. I have another fender to go with it. This would be a easy project that you could drive and work on as you want to. The brake booster has also been replaced. Its hard for me to decribe this car perfectly so I could be forgetting something so if you need more info just let me know. In the pics the paint job looks pretty nice and it does look okay but is far from perfect. It have scratches and was not a real good quality paint job to begin with so unless you are just wanting a car to drive and don't car you might want to repaint it one day. I have a clear title to it. The car is located in Jonesboro Louisiana. Like it is with bad tires it really can't be driven any distance so it would need to be picked up on a trailer. If you have questions or need more info email me or call me at 318-278-1069. Please ask all questions and make sure you want it before you place a bid on it. The car is located and will have to be picked up in Jonesboro Louisiana. I will require full payment be made within seven days of the end of auction. I will accept cash in person, certified bank check from a bank that I will have to verify, or bank wire transfer. Again please ask all questions you want to if you are in question.

Toyota, Ford decide to end hybrid collaboration before it starts
Tue, 23 Jul 2013Not all so-called Memorandum of Understanding pacts end in actual collaborations. For instance, after a two-year "feasibility study," Toyota and Ford have just announced that they will not be developing hybrid systems for use in light trucks and SUVs as previously planned, and the two automakers will instead continue to develop their own hybrid technology independently.
The would-be collaboration was first announced in August of 2011, and would have seen a rear-wheel-drive hybrid platform that would "improve the efficiency of trucks and SUVs while still allowing them to be driven in the way customers expect," according to our initial post on the topic.
Keep in mind that this announcement isn't to say we shouldn't expect hybrid pickups and SUVs from the two automakers, but that they probably aren't coming very soon - Ford says it will have a system "before the end of this decade" and we haven't heard much from Toyota on the hybrid truck front since the 2008 A-BAT Concept (pictured above) - and that they will not share any components between them (and they never have, for what it's worth).
'84 MotorWeek Cherokee, Bronco and Blazer comparison indulges your SUV nostalgia
Fri, Jan 16 2015These days, truck-based, full-frame SUVs are somewhat of a rarity on the auto landscape due to the rapid rise in popularity of easier-driving, car-based crossovers. Although, without the gradually building popularity of these chunky, high-riding vehicles decades ago, it's unlikely that America's roads would be filled with so many CUVs today. In its latest dig into the archives, MotorWeek has found a 1984 comparison test of a trio of these early Sport Utility Wagons, as long-time host John Davis called them, that helped get acceptance of this segment going. This is a red, white and blue test of the SUVs from American automakers at the time and pits the Chevrolet Blazer, Ford Bronco and Jeep Cherokee (specifically in Wagoneer guise) against each other. Driving manners and interior usability are considered in the evaluation, but Motorweek actually takes these vehicles off road, too. Among the bigger revelations is the improvement in on-road ability in the past 30 years. While specific 0-60 times aren't given, all three models take around 10 seconds just to get to around 50 miles per hour in the 500-feet on-ramp acceleration test. Check out this clip to see just how far this segment has progressed in the past three decades or just get a blast of nostalgia from these now vintage models. Ken Block walks you through his new 'Hoonigan Racing' HQ
Tue, 24 Jun 2014Ken Block seems like one hell of a nice guy. I ran into him at CES this past January, and he dropped the video games he was playing to chat with me for a while. His crew also recently gave our Steve Ewing a tour of the offices you're about to see on this video. Good guy to know.
As it turns out, they're some fairly cool new digs. Dubbed 'Hoonigan Racing Division HQ,' the office is open to Ford Focus ST and Fiesta ST owners who attend the driving program offered out at Miller Motorsports Park. The very same program that Ewing reported on just recently.
Or, if you've no plans to buy an ST or travel to Utah any time soon, you can let Block show you around himself in this MTV Cribs-style video. With interior decorating that relies heavily on shipping containers and luxurious amenities like a ping pong table, 10 refrigerators and a bear(?), there's no lack of eye-candy in the driverly HQ. (Judging by Block's outfit, you'll probably not go thirsty if you're a Monster drinker, either.) Take the tour along with the Gymkhana master, below.
