Look up "muscle car" in the dictionary and you're almost guaranteed to find the car that changed the game, a
Mustang Fastback. While the individual tenants of American performance could be found in earlier cars, Ford took it
to a new level in the mid 60s putting them all together in one sinister package equally capable of a quarter-mile
blast or a comfortable trip to the grocery store in a light weight performance driven car. This 1967 underwent a
complete restoration in the mid 2000s. This car is owned by an avid car collector and has been driven regularly.
Make no mistake it is no show queen, but a daily driver that shows well.
Sinister, tough, and attractive, this Fastback perfectly defines Ford’s lasting legacy of creating sophistication
with raw aggression. The front of the car is dominated by trademark, blackend grille that are anchored between
single headlights, chrome-finish front bumper. At the sides of that broad hood, the start of the chiseled
sidelines begin as the fenders
Lift the hood to find the Fastback powered in the form of a 390 V8. The carb linkage swivels like it's lined with
silk, and the engine pulls the car with real authority. Of course, the entire engine bay has been restored with the
original ford blue on the block. Air conditioning, Simply put, lift the engine's hood at any car show and you're
sure to have a huge crowd around your car in no time.
Underneath the Fastback is just as impressive as the rest of the build. The stout 390 sends power to an automatic
transmission that then sends the power to the ground. Spent gasses travel out the rock solid drive train through
true dual exhausts that exit out the just below the rear of the car to create a fantastic American muscle sound. At
the sides of that booming soundtrack, is complete with big disc brakes. At the corners of that suspension, a set or
17” American racing rims wrapped in sport tires.
Open the doors and you'll be greeted by a stylish interior that is a fantastic blend of style and simplicity. On
the seats you'll see the stylish pattern and the symmetry of the seats in this car is the result of careful fitting
and lots of extra time spent during final assembly. On the floor, newer carpet, along with floor mats. At the sides
of the car, nice door panels hang chrome handles. In front of the driver, a steering wheel spins a wood rim around
a chrome horn button. The car has been treated to a classic style radio that has ipod capabilities, along with JL
speakers, amp and subwoofer.
This fun, 1967 Mustang Fastback is a car that packs unbeatable performance in a highly desirable wrapper. It's the
kind of car that'll be a pleasure to own for years to come. If you've been patiently waiting for the opportunity to
pick up a classic example of a muscle car, here's your chance!

Is Tesla's next project an F-150 competitor? [w/poll]

Wed, 13 Nov 2013

What's the future look like for Tesla after it launches the Model X CUV and possibly a smaller, sub-Model S sedan? Would you believe a pickup truck? Yes, Tesla could be looking to use its EV know-how to take the fight to Ford and the F-150, based on comments made by company founder Elon Musk.
"If you're trying to replace the most gasoline miles driven, you have to look at what people are buying," Musk said during an impromptu Q&A session following a speech at Business Insider's Ignition conference. "[The F-150 is] the best selling car in America. If people are voting that's their car, then that's the car we have to deliver."
And while the idea of electric pickup may sound kind of absurd to some, Musk makes a very valid point - if Tesla's goal is to replace gas miles with electrical miles, it simply can't afford to ignore pickups.

Recharge Wrap-up: Tesla details factory expansion; Ford and SunPower raise money for Sierra Club

Thu, Nov 20 2014

Tesla has revealed the details of the upgrade of its Fremont, CA factory. One major change is the addition of a dedicated production space for the dual-motor P85D version of the Model S. Robots will be doing the battery installation on the Model S to save some time, and new export docks allow Tesla to get the cars out the door and on the way to their new owners more quickly. The new robots that move the cars around the factory have been named after X-Men characters, which makes our inner geeks smile. Check out the factory upgrade in the time-lapse video below and read more at Teslarati or at the Tesla Motors Blog. A program in Beijing for privileged registrations for EVs hasn't had much success. Of the 1,424 lottery winners, only about 30 percent went on to register an electric car despite a two-month extension of the deadline to do so. Buyers are likely discouraged by the lack of charging infrastructure, which the city hopes to ameliorate with the addition of 1,000 new charging stations by the end of the year, and by requiring new and renovated developments to set aside parking specifically for EV charging. Read more at Green Car Reports. The UC Davis Institute of Transportation Studies suggests that laws designed to protect dealers and consumers are stymieing the adoption of EVs. Laws like the ones certain states have in place that block or otherwise restrict Tesla's direct-to-consumer business model are not helpful for companies that want to introduce new products to the market. They prevent companies from passing on savings to customers for whom they would likely make the difference in a purchasing decision. One possible solution would be to allow exemptions to certain selling restrictions for a certain number of vehicles sold. "This could give automakers the degree of control needed to work out kinks with early customers, develop scalable processes for supporting PEVs, and ensure that effective dealer performance standards are in place before handing the reins over to wholly independent retailers," according to UC Davis ITS. Read more at the UC Davis website. Volkswagen says its environmental program, called "Think Blue. Factory," is meeting the automaker's own sustainability targets. The main purpose of the program is to move toward eco-friendlier carmaking at each of its plants worldwide.

New car market raining on convertibles' parade

Mon, 08 Jul 2013

Whether fitted with soft or hard folding lids, today's droptops are better than ever for year-round motoring. Advancements in power top mechanisms, sealing, aerodynamics, structural rigidity, rollover safety and creature comforts like heated and cooled seats mean that modern convertibles are more versatile and better to drive than ever before. Yet the segment's sales took a dive during the recession and haven't come back, Automotive News reports.
Part of that is because automakers are looking at today's more sensible buyers and simply not developing as many new models, and that lack of fresh iron is curbing sales. AN cites R.L. Polk data which notes that only about one percent of new vehicles registered in the US last year had tops that folded. Back in 2009, it was 1.4 percent, and it was 2 percent in 2006. All-in, some 151,636 convertibles were registered in 2012. That's more units more than were registered in each of the past three years, but the market has also grown as the economy has picked up speed, and as a percentage of new vehicles purchased, convertible sales are lagging.
Thus far in 2013, the Ford Mustang is America's top-selling convertible, with 6,421 units registered through the end of April, followed by its rival, the Chevrolet Camaro, at 4,751 units. The Volkswagen Beetle isn't far behind, with 4,305, but from that point, it's a steep drop off to the fourth-place Mercedes-Benz SL-Class and its 2,380 sales.
