You are looking at an AMAZING 1965 Mustang Fastback.

It is a factory GT (with all the indicators including special cluster/AMP meter, dual exhaust brackets, etc).

The interior is Black and the exterior is the highly desired Rangoon Red

This is an amazing car that RUNS perfect, with LOTS of power.

Some of the amazing features include:

  • MSD Electronic Ignition
  • True 1965 Under-Dash AC (under the hood was upgraded for more efficiency)
  • Rally Pac
  • 4 Speed Manual Transmission
  • Front Disc Brakes
  • Dual GT exhaust
  • Original Remote Driver side Mirror
  • Monte-Carlo Bar under the hood.
  • Tie-Bars underneath to give the car a VERY solid drive.
  • Fold Down Rear Seat
  • etc

Engine runs perfect, starts every time, and has LOTs of power..... Even with all that power it handles great

Brakes were all redone less than 2 months.

Transmission is VERY tight, and shifts nice . Even gear 1 & 2 are really tight... (which is rare to find)

The Interior is in great shape with all original interior seats etc and in great shape.

The paint and body are in ok shape. Most of the paint appears to be original, with only a rear quarter panel replaced and re-painted MANY years ago. The overall body has some small dings etc (given that it is mostly original) and a little rust on the bottom of the doors (easy fix).  The paint still has a shine and looks great at 10 ft (as you can see from the pictures), but when you get closer you can see some imperfections/chips in the paint (which is expected for a 48 year old paint job).  This car can easily be driven as it, or easily re-painted to give it a new paint job.

The Cowls, undercarriage, floor boards, etc are in great shape

PLEASE call and ask any questions before you bid  (Eric 843-760-0741) . This car is almost 50 years old and will have it's own personality.

NOTE: This item is listed locally and I reserve the right to cancel the auction at any time.

Junkyard Gem: 1991 Mercury Capri

Mon, Sep 19 2016

Ford has gotten a lot of use out of the Capri name in the United States. First, there was the Lincoln Capri in the 1950s, followed by the Ford Capri Mk1 (which was sold by Mercury dealers in the USA but never actually badged as a Mercury). Then came the 1979-1986 Mercury Capri, built on the very successful Fox Platform and essentially a clone of the Mustang. Finally, in 1991, the Australian Ford Capri came to the United States. Here is an example of this rare car that I spotted in a Northern California self-service yard not long ago. Mechanically speaking, the 1991-1994 Capri was a Mazda 323 under the skin, complete with a member of the same B-series engine family that went into such cars as the Miata and Ford Escort. So, for a few years in the early 1990s, car shoppers who wanted a sporty Mazda convertible could choose between a Miata and a Capri. The Capri had front-wheel-drive, but could be had with factory turbocharging. These cars were reliable and fun, but had a tough time competing with the Miata in the showroom battles. You'll see the occasional example now and then, but most of the 1991-1994 Capris have met the same fate that awaits this one. Related Video:

Jay Leno takes a Surfin' Safari in a 1937 Ford Woodie Restomod

Tue, 21 Oct 2014

Woodie wagons were a major part of surfing culture in the 1960s, offering coastal style and a ton of room, and they even earned a mention in the Beach Boys' classic song Surfin' Safari. This week, Jay Leno's Garage takes a look at two modern, restomodded examples of these style icons.
Unlike a lot of restomods, builder Scott Bonowski keeps these wagons looking almost completely stock on the outside, and all of the upgrades are hidden underneath the timber. You can't tell by looking at it, but the '37 Woodie (pictured above) has independent front and rear suspension, disc brakes and a Ford 5.0-liter V8 under the hood.
Beyond the mechanical aspect, the craftsmanship into the wood is astounding. Bonowski claims there are between 30 and 50 coats of varnish on this wagon. It makes these woodies as much of a piece of fine furniture as a vehicle to drive.

More evidence GT500-replacement will be named GT350

Tue, 17 Dec 2013

During the recent unveiling of the 2015 Ford Mustang, we saw the car in both V6 and GT form, but we'll have to wait a little bit longer to see the successor to the Shelby GT500. In the meantime, though, it looks like SVTPerformance.com has confirmed reports that this high-performance model will bring the Shelby GT350 name back to Ford.
According to the forum post, a user found the Shelby GT350 name on a Ford promo website listing its 2015 lineup. The Shelby GT350 name was first used on a Mustang back in 1965, and most recently it has been a model created for customers as a post-title purchase by Shelby American. As for that car, Shelby confirmed earlier in the year that its GT350 would be phased out at the end of this month.
The million-dollar question for Mustang and Shelby enthusiasts is when we'll see next factory Shelby GT350. Last we heard it was planned for a debut at the New York Auto Show. We've included our previous spy shots of this hi-po, sixth-gen Mustang, and we've also captured it on spy video showing off its exhaust note.
