Up for bids is a 1965 Mustang Fastback  C code, clean title, project. The car originally came with a 289 engine 4 speed transmission, yellow  exterior and a palomino interior. The car now has a 302 engine, 2 barrel carburetor  and a C6 automatic transmission. I will try to describe the car to the best of my knowledge. The 302 engine does run and is in fair condition. The transmission does work but has a major oil leak. The body looks good but does need body work, paint and a front windshield (it is cracked),  the windows roll up and down, the doors open and close properly. Only surface rust on the roof and various other places, trunk and floors look good. The interior is all there but needs upholstery, carpet and head liner. Please refer to the pictures. It has a new set of tires and daisy wheels (rims), please note the rims are not new, it does have a clear title and please if you are close enough you are welcome to inspect the car. The car is sold as is and where it is. The buyer is responsible for pick up or shipping arrangements. A $1000 deposit is required within 24 hours of end of auction. Please do not bid if you don't have the funds available. I do reserve the right to end auction early for any reason.  The '65 Mustang Fastback is getting rare as the years go by.

Good luck bidding!

TRANSLOGIC 147: CES 2014 Autonomous Vehicles

Wed, Jan 15 2014

We head back to CES in Las Vegas to check on the progress of autonomous vehicles in 2014. We go hands-free on the highway with Audi, narrowly avoid a collision with Ford and hear all about BMW's drifting driverless car. But first we take a ride on Induct's self-driving Navia shuttle.

Ford car-camo artist works his craft on Australia's new Falcon XR8

Fri, 25 Jul 2014

Ford is among the kings of concealment when it comes to test cars. On one recent Mustang SVT mule, the automaker went to the extreme of putting baffles over the exhausts to hide how many there were. Sounds like a lot of work, right? In a new video, the Blue Oval has decided to take fans behind the scenes to show them what it takes to camouflage a prototype. In this case the subject was the recently unveiled 2014 Falcon XR8 for Australia.
Ford's prototype build coordinator Down Under has the very appropriate name of Neil Trickey, and it's his job to obfuscate the important bits of test cars to keep them out of spy shooters' camera lenses. Trickey calls his job a "dark art," and he shows off some of the tricks of his trade in the video. It turns out that the fabric we often see on mules is a type of lycra, but his team isn't above getting out a can of spray paint to conceal parts, too.
Scroll down to watch a video about a man who you probably wish could be a little worse at his job.

Ford, Ram in heavy-duty towing spat

Mon, 28 Jul 2014

Every pickup truck commercial has the brand trying to convince us that its model is the biggest, brawniest vehicle on the block. But Ford and Ram appear ready to really throw down the gauntlet and scrap over the towing figures for their heavy-duty models, and it could potentially end up in court.
The issue revolves around what it means to be best in class. Ford claims that its 2015 F-450 (pictured above) has a max tow rating of 31,200 pounds, compared to 30,000 pounds for the Ram 3500 (right). However, both companies market these heavy haulers as having the top towing in their class. According to Automotive News, Ford is threatening legal action if Ram doesn't back down.
The situation isn't as simple as just comparing the numbers, though. First, the two companies calculate their towing capacities differently. Ram adheres to the SAE J2807 rating, while Ford uses its own internal system. Although, as the company introduces new models, they are certified using the SAE standard. "When an all-new F-Series Super Duty is introduced, it also will use SAE J2807," said Ford to Autoblog in an emailed statement.
