65 MUSTANG CONVERTIBLE
This beautiful black 65 convertible is fully loaded with GT options and the original, fully restored A/C. It has been totally restored to show quality but meant to drive and enjoy. It is a "c" code with all the GT options added. The tan interior and tan canvas top sets off the black exterior very nicely. Everything on this car is new, rebuilt or totally restored. I purchased this car for $15,000 and have an additional 30,000 in the restoration. I have a book with all the receipts and prior history (limited). I also have a book with pictures of the car before restoration, during restoration and after restoration. The car has 2000 miles on it since the total restoration. I have driven the car to a couple of car shows approx. 150 miles away and it drives as nice as it looks. The car took a First (Best Mustang) in one show and a Second in an All Mustang Meet (64-66 all) class. If you want to make the car into a "trailer queen" you probably could but I restored it to ENJOY!!
The number of new parts is too long to list but here is some of them: Custom wheels and Dual Red Line Tires, Holly 4 Barrel Carb, entire front end to include shocks, coil springs, over sized sway bar, ball joints, bushings, etc.; rear leaf springs and shocks, gas tank, 3 core radiator, wiper washer motor, master cylinder, pony interior, Tan canvas top and vinyl top cover that matches the interior, dash, gauges, custom steering wheel, AM/FM original looking radio, Rally Pac, carpets and mats, etc, etc,...........On the reproduction parts used I bought Scott Drake items or the best available on the market. The Air Conditioner was rebuilt by Classic Auto Air in Florida. The engine was totally rebuilt and has 2000 miles on it. The odometer prior to restoration read 97000 miles and the new odometer reads 2000 miles. The original C-4 transmission was rebuilt before I purchased it and has approx. 4000 mi on it since rebuild (runs and shifts very smoothly). Because I wanted to drive this vehicle we gave the underside a light undercoating to protect it. Everything works properly on this car, the engine compartment is fully detailed, the body is straight and has NO rust, and it cruises very nicely at 70 MPH. The car has been garaged for the entire time I have owned it. The title and Vin #s on the fenders match and it has a clear title. This car was originally purchased in Houston, Texas then went to Louisiana and finally N.C. where the car is now. This car really must be seen to be appreciated.
Please feel free to contact me with any questions or requests prior to bidding. The car is being sold "As Is" with no warranty, implied or otherwise. Upon a final winning bid the buyer(bidder) must give me a $500 non-refundable deposit thru Paypal within 24 hours and pay the remainder of the sale price within 3 days of the end of auction by overnighting a cashiers check or by electronic bank transfer(preferred). I will not accept the balance paid thru Paypal. The car can be viewed or inspected anytime prior to the end of auction. Shipping is the entire responsibility of the buyer but I will help in arranging setup for transportation if requested. The vehicle will not be moved until total payment is received and verified. My contact info is ph# (828) 391-1157. You can also look under my "Me" ebay icon to retrieve my ph # or email.

****I need to correct a couple of things in my description. After reading thru the history again, I believe that the car has approx. 141,000 true original miles. The odometer read approx. 39000 (not 97000) miles prior to restoration and it had turned over once. The C-4 rebuilt transmission has approx. 29000 (not 4000) miles on it. Everything else is correct. Sorry for the mistake. Also, the original Data Plate was 76A F D2 05R 62 6 6. The new Data Plate reflects the colors it is now and shows the upgrade to Deluxe Pony Interior. The Vin # 5F08C686366 is the same on both the old and new. Any questions, please call. Thanks

Watch Ford build a Mustang atop Burj Khalifa, world's tallest building
Sun, Nov 23 2014In 1965, a Ford Mustang Convertible proudly went on display at the top of the Empire State Building, the world's tallest building at the time. Earlier this year, the Blue Oval recreated the stunt by bringing the latest droptop 'Stang to the sky-high structure. Unfortunately, while still iconic, the New York skyscraper has lost the world title. Of course, an automaker can't let something like that get in the way of a good publicity stunt. For the inauguration of the Ford business unit in the Middle East and Africa, the brand gave the 2015 Mustang Convertible an even bigger building to climb – the biggest in fact. The droptop made its way to the 112th floor of the Burj Khalifa, the world's tallest building. To put a final topper on the whole event, executive chairman Bill Ford was the one to place the car's famous badge, making it complete. Like with the Empire State Building spectacle, getting the Mustang to the top wasn't as simple as just driving it off the elevator. Check out the video above to see how it was done, and scroll down to read Ford's press release about the event. Ford Executive Chairman Bill Ford capped the live-action event by delivering the iconic pony badge to the 2015 yellow Mustang on the 112th floor of the skyscraper. The event was viewed live around the world on YouTube as well as by approximately 10,000 fans gathered in the Dubai Downtown area, overlooking the Dubai Fountain and Burj Khalifa. Leno talks racing with NASCAR racer Joey Logano
Wed, 02 Jul 2014Jay Leno has to be under significant pressure knowing the appetite his fans have for a new Jay Leno's Garage video every week. This time, Jay takes a break from his usual format (something he's been doing with some frequency as of late) and goes back to his roots as a talk show host. There's no classic in the garage his episode with an interesting story to tell and a sumptuous exhaust note. Instead, the focus is purely on interviewing 23-year-old NASCAR racer Joey Logano about what it's like to be a racecar driver in his Ford Fusion.
Logano started racing at the tender age of six and has risen up the circle-track ranks to the big show of the NASCAR Sprint Cup. The two of them talk about what it's like to compete in the sport today compared to yesteryear, and Logano shares some racing anecdotes. Of course, they also get into what it's like to be on the racetrack controlling a car with about 850 horsepower, a four-speed manual transmission and brakes without any power boost. Scroll down to watch the video.
Takata air bag recall list
Tue, Dec 9 2014The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration confirmed yesterday that 33.8 million vehicles with Takata airbags are going to be recalled. It's the largest recall in automotive history. The already record-breaking rate of automotive recalls this year shows no signs of slowing down, especially since millions of cars with defective airbags made by global supplier Takata are under ongoing scrutiny. The federal government is warning owners that inflator mechanisms in the air bags can rupture, causing metal fragments to fly out when the bags are deployed. The faulty air bags have already been blamed for multiple deaths. How do you know if your vehicle is safe? The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration released an updated list of vehicles under recall. Sometimes however, the government's website will crash and the list may not be complete. Check your VIN at the NHTSA website to make sure. The list of cars affected by the recall has not been released, but seem to span multiple models over the years for many of the automakers.
