Up for sale is a beautiful 1965 Mustang with removable fastback roof. You will be the talk of the town and the center of attention at car shows. The body is very solid with no signs of any accidents over the years. The front aprons are original and also have never been damaged. Every single item in the front suspension is new, it has new shocks, springs(two sets) , upper and lower control arms, pitman arm, idler arm and center drag link. I had the spindles, strut arms and cross member professionally sand blasted and powder coated. I upgraded the sway bar from the original 11/16" to a 1-1/8" powder coated bar. T he floors were replaced in the past as well. The paint is fresh base coat Classic White/Sonic Blue stripes, the clear coat has been cut and buffed to a beautiful shine. The interior carpet, seats, seatbelts, B&M Shifter, dash pad, door panels, gauge bezels and steering wheel are all new. The engine is a super strong 289 CID V-8 with many upgrades including a 4 Barrel Holley Carburetor and throaty sounding dual exhaust. This car starts with the flick of a key and really moves! Most of the chrome and stainless is new or in very good shape. 17" Riddler wheels with new Sumitomo low profile tires, (front - 215/45 R17 & rear - 225/45 R17). a Custom Autosound USA-66 deck was also installed. It looks very close to the original but has more current circuitry with CD changer capabilities, AUX input and station pre-sets. I installed a pair of Infinity Kappa 6x9s in the rear and a Retrosound R410N 4x10 in the dash. I mounted a 4 channel amplifier in the trunk to power the higher quality speakers. Invested around $700 total in the stereo. Feel free to come and visit and take it for a spin, it won't disappoint. Here are some common questions I get about the removable top:ยท How is the roof attached? Is the roof water-tight? The roof weighs approx. 75 pounds and can be removed in less than 2 minutes. The top is secured by two bolts in the front and two wing nuts in the rear. There is a metal header attached to the roof. On this metal header, there are two tinnerman nuts (mustang fender nut clips) - the two bolts go thru the mustang convertible sun visor bracket dowel pin guide hole and thread into the tinnerman nuts, The fiberglass roof (up front) has a gasket that sits on the windshield stainless steel trim.

Ford to show special edition Raptor on April 9
Mon, 01 Apr 2013There are precious few details, but what we do know is that Ford will be revealing images of "appearance upgrades" for a special-edition 2014 F-150 SVT Raptor on April 9. The slideshow will happen during a Motor Press Guild luncheon at Ford's Design Center Showroom in Irvine, California.
Without photos or further details, we're left to wonder about the extent of these changes, but aren't expecting anything too significant given the venue. Ford is understood to be revealing a next-generation F-150 with a big weight loss - as much as 700 pounds - for 2014, though it isn't yet clear if that's the truck's model year or simply its on-sale year. For at least a couple of years, Ford forums have been suggesting changes will come with the 2014 Raptor, so there could still be a bigger surprise in store. Either way, we'll know what all this means in a little more than a week. The press release below has the official details, but for the moment, we'll content ourselves by ogling the 2013 model above.
Ford Escort returns... as a concept
Sat, 20 Apr 2013Ford is kickin' it old school at the Shanghai Motor Show for 2013 with a new Escort Concept - "a name that stirs up thoughts of basic, affordable transportation rather than great driving dynamics or bold design" as we said in our initial preview of the small C-segment sedan. Or, as Ford puts it, "Customers in China described seeking a vehicle that is stylish - but not one that is arrogant or pretentious." Potato, potahto...
It's an interesting amalgam of design notes with Ford's recent and stylish hexagonal grille up front, flanked by some pretty busy LED light clusters and chrome-trimmed air intakes at the lower extremities of the fascia, but the Escort Concept is not altogether unattractive. Besides its external appearance, we really don't have much information to report - Ford has not yet hinted at what may be powering this little machine, but we'd expect something with four cylinders and less that 2.0 liters of displacement sending a modest number of horses to the front tires.
It probably goes without saying, but we don't expect to see this Escort make its way to the United States, since we already have the Focus and the Fiesta battling it out in the econobox segment. That said, it's very likely to spawn a production model that will roll out here in China and in other developing market where multiple C-segment entries are becoming increasingly common. Check out our high-res image gallery of live images above, and let us know what you think of the car's styling, then scroll down below for the official press release.
'Blood Muscle' auction to sell impressive collection of ill-begotten classic cars
Wed, 30 Jul 2014The old saying goes that if you can't do the time, don't do the crime. But being a criminal can involve more than just taking a trip to the big house; it can also mean losing possessions purchased from any ill-gotten gains. Still, one man's loss is another's gain, and if you're in Lodi, NJ, on September 12, you stand the chance to buy some of the ultimate muscle cars from the US Marshals in what is being gruesomely nicknamed the Blood Muscle auction.
The grisly moniker was earned because all of the vehicles belonged to the president of a blood testing company who is facing prison time for alleged bribery, according to Hemmings. After all, they are muscle cars bought with actual blood money. The seven-vehicle collection includes some of the ultimate muscle cars ever made, and the original buyer clearly had an eye for rarity.
This cornucopia of V8 power includes a teal 1970 Ford Mustang Boss 429, a 1967 Shelby GT500 Mustang, an orange 1970 Plymouth Superbird, a 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS convertible and perhaps most prized of all - a trio of 1969 Yenko Chevys with a Chevelle, Nova and Camaro all represented. From the included photos, all of them look to be in fantastic condition.
