Mustang Fastback
Pro Street
This '66 Mustang Fastback has been given the Pro Street treatment turning it into one tough little hot rod. The motor is a modified 351 Windsor V8 with an automatic C4 transmission. The motor is freshly built and detailed. It runs strong, stays cool, is dependable, and sounds super mean. Most everything is new. It is not a car you have to work on and tune everytime you drive it. The rear end is a narrowed 9" Ford with a 4 link set up. Coil overs front and rear with disc brakes up front. The car is caged and tubbed with a fuel cell (and battery) neatly mounted in the trunk. The cage is well built and nicely covered to match the seats and the rest of the interior. It has a set of Billet Specialties aluminum wheels with Mickey Thompson 29x15.50x15 rear tires and 165R/15's up front. A full set of Autometer- carbon fiber gauges are mounted in the dash with machine turned gauge cluster and glove box. B&M Pro ratchet shifter and full console. A new ashtray door is included if you decide to relocate the switch for the electric fuel pump to the plate in the console if you prefer it there. This is a steel car with fiberglass hood, decklid and ground effects. It has working lights and turn signals (tail lights are LED units and are very cool). No air conditioning or heat. It has it's original vin and clear title. No passes at the track, never shown, just around town cruising. Photos will tell more than I can type. Feel free to ask questions.
The car is being listed with a very low, realistic reserve - Bid to win!

EU formally questions French government assistance of Peugeot's finance arm
Fri, 28 Dec 2012Recently, the finance arm of PSA/Peugeot-Citroën was in such debt trouble that it was pricing itself out of the car loan market. The rates it was paying to service its debt, which was rated one step above junk, were so high that it was forced to charge car-buying customers higher rates than they could find elsewhere. This was adding to Peugeot's already impressive woes by sending revenue out the door to competitors.
Two months ago a deal was worked out with the French government whereby the state would provide 7 billion euro ($9 billion USD) in bonds to guarantee the finance arm's loans. The French government could nominate someone to join the Peugeot board, Peugeot would guarantee more French jobs, and on top of that deal, other banks would provide non-guaranteed loans. The government would take no equity stake in the car company.
Although not yet finalized, the arrangement is meant to create some breathing room for Peugeot Finance to lower its interest rates for customers, and a government-nominated board member, Louis Gallois, was recently named to Peugeot's supervisory board. The arrangement was also openly questioned by at least three competitors: Ford, Renault - which is 15-percent owned by the French government after it received state aid - and the German state of Lower Saxony, itself a 15-percent shareholder in Volkswagen.

2015 Ford F-150 pricing announced, aluminum-bodied truck up just $395
Mon, 28 Jul 2014The eagerly anticipated Ford F-150 has had its 2015 pricing announced, adding only a small amount to the pickup's total cost, despite its weight-saving aluminum body. The XL and XLT entry level models only see a $395 boost over the heavier, current-generation, 2014 truck.
The XL starts at $26,615 while the XLT rings up at $31,890. The increase for Lariat is up a similarly negligible $895, to $39,880. Going up the ladder, meanwhile, the leather-intensive King Ranch sees the biggest jump of the F-150 family, with prices increasing $3,515, to $49,460. Finally, picking up the top-end Platinum trim will cost an extra $3,055, with prices starting at $52,155.
The higher prices are being blamed not only on the aluminum bodies, which trim up to 700 pounds of body fat, but on increased levels of standard equipment. While we were expecting a price hike, the fact that the 2015 F-150's volume trims - Ford spokesman Mike Levine told Reuters that the XL and XLT alone cover 70 percent of F-150 sales - have had less than a $400 increase is hugely impressive.
