Vintage Rebuilt 1927 Ford Model T Depot Hack on 2040-cars

Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, United States

Vintage 1927 Ford Model T Depot Hack on rebuilt original running gear and engine. Manufacturer’s serial number 14130234. I worked with my father on the restoration including the chassis, engine, running gear, fenders, running boards, wheels, painting, radiator, gas tank, etc. The PA A code (antique motor vehicle) title is dated 05-26-72. New PA title in my name is dated 2/28/12. It is one of two complete Ford Model T Depot Hacks rebuilt from the ground up including new wood bodies, seats, hardware, side curtains, accessories, etc. Dad worked with noted Gettysburg, PA cabinet maker, Bob Dietrick, on the bodies. The body patterns were taken from an original Depot Hack in Frederick, MD. They built several bodies in varying configurations. This variation uses a single piece of finished plywood with black lines on the inside of the top and the bed and to replicate the individual wood slats used in the original. Body side panels have solid wood partitions over the finished plywood. The restoration was undertaken make the vehicle very reliable and presentable but not for show. The last registration sticker is dated 1988. The PA inspection sticker is dated 4/89. This car was always garaged and driven frequently during the 1972 to 1988 period on trips over the Gettysburg battlefield, local camping trips, Hershey antique car show, etc and was last driven sometime in the early 1990’s. I moved the car to another storage facility three years ago.

Vehicle is being sold in as is condition with no guarantees. It has not been run since put in original storage and has accumulated 20+ years of dust and some deterioration. Engine is free and tires still hold air. There is some separation to the wood roof interior on the left side and front due to water ingress while in the original storage area. The black fabric top cover appears in good overall condition and probably need waterproofing. The side curtains are nice as pictured but need stretched to close completely as they were stored in the rolled up position. Body/chassis is still relatively rust free with some small areas of chipping and flaking. Most noticeable rust is to/around the engine area and exhaust system. Note remnant of old fan belt and spit cleaned area on left front fender. There is a vertical crack in the upper windshield starting near the windshield wiper. There is a double spare tire mount on the left running board with a spare tire/rim that was not pictured. Vehicle is still set up in the original 6V DC configuration with electric start. A chassis/metal work wash, wood body and side curtain cleaning would greatly improve the overall appearance. Mechanically, needs at least a new fan belt and 6V battery based on visual inspection. More photos available. Includes a spare engine/transmission (crank turns/not running as pictured) and radiator. Great winter project in time for the spring touring season.

Contact me via email or phone at 717-357-8799 with questions or more pictures. Vehicle is available for local pick-up only. Close of auction constitutes contract to purchase. $500 down payment is due within 3 days of auction close via PayPal, USPS Money Order or Cashiers/Certified Check. Balance is due via cashiers/certified check within 7 days of close of auction. Funds must clear prior to pick-up/transfer of title.

Texas plumber shocked his old Ford F-250 is now in terrorists' hands [w/video]

Thu, Dec 18 2014

Do you ever wonder what the a owner is doing with your vehicle after you trade it in? Mark Oberholtzer of Mark-1 Plumbing in Texas City, TX, has no need to imagine, but it's probably his worst nightmare. That's because an image of his old Ford F-250 is now on Twitter as a gun platform in the Syrian Civil War. While the image only appeared recently, Oberholtzer traded the truck in last November. Somehow since then the F-250 made its way from Texas to Syria. According to a report from television station WHOU, the dealer that took the trade said the pickup immediately went to auction. Unfortunately, along the whole route no one ever took Mark-1 Plumbing's name and phone number off the door. So when the image went up on Twitter, everyone knew whom the Ford previously belonged to. The plumbing company makes it abundantly clear that this whole bizarre situation is simply a coincidence, and it has absolutely no ties to the conflict in Syria. However, that isn't preventing people from phoning the business with angry calls and threats. Things are so bad that Oberholtzer keeps the phones unplugged for relief. Scroll down to watch a video of the guy's flabbergasted reaction to finding out what his F-250 is doing now. This content is hosted by a third party. Radical RXC is a Mustang-hearted racecar for the road

Fri, May 30 2014

Radical has been building fantastic open-cockpit racers and roadcars for years, for the track day enthusiast who wants a vehicle that looks like it could show up for a start at the 24 Hours of Le Mans. The company's latest creation is the RXC, and while this coupe looks like a prototype racer, it's road legal in the UK and in some parts of the US. When testing a car this, um, radical, the first thought is likely to get it to the track for some big slides and wide open acceleration, but XCar Films takes the opposite approach in its latest video to learn how this racer fares on public roads. The version tested here is the standard RXC with the 3.7-liter V6 out of the Ford Mustang tuned to 350 horsepower with a seven-speed sequential gearbox; but Radical also offers the same engine with 380-hp, a 454-hp Ford EcoBoost 3.5-liter twin-turbo V6, or even a 500-hp V8. Even in the most basic guise, it's a handful to control in the wet, if this video is any indication. The cliche of a road-legal racecar is bandied around a lot in the motoring world, but it truly applies to the RXC. The only problem with seeing the RXC exclusively on the road is that it can never really open up and show its full potential. This racer is indeed chomping at the bit to rocket off into the horizon, but all those pesky road safety laws hold it back. Still, the video is a chance to get a better impression about this thoroughbred sports car. Scroll down to check it out. This content is hosted by a third party.
