29 T Street Rod The Roadster (T-Bucket) was built in 1987 by Tex Racing (Ford Racing NASCAR) in Ether, NC. Engine: Ford
Y-Block 292 from original 1956 Thunderbird engine bored 40 over, Isky cam and
solid lifers, Borger Warner T-10 four speed, Offenhauser 3x2's intake with 2100
series Holley carburetors, Vertex magneto, original Thunderbird valve covers,
diamond plate aluminum firewall, chrome air cleaners with Louvers, Moon Temp
gauge and fuel pressure gauges are mounted on engine. Oil pressure gauge and
Water Temp gauge are mounted on the firewall. Has polished aluminum master
cylinder cover. The engine was rebuilt in 2004. In 2012 the engine and
transmission was resealed, oil pump replaced and battery was replaced. Interior:
White interior with red carpet. The top and gas tank cover is Nylon material. Old style 4 speed shifter and seat belts. Has chrome clutch, brake and gas pedals. Black
face Stewart Warner gauges mounted in red dash, Stewart Warner speedometer
mounted on steering column. The interior does show signs of age but is still
presentable at car shows. Old Skool
look. Exterior:
Red paint with white top and cover, California customs body and radiator, Moog
rear springs, Speedway Motor tail lights with blue dots, seal beam headlights.
The Keystone Raiders rims are the first generation mags from the early 60s and
do show some small signs of aging. New tires in 2011, 4 BF Goodrich TA Radials
app.500 miles. Also has a built in battery charger and on/off battery
switch, roll bar and chrome front end. Overall: Great
looking old Skool Rod. The car is in good condition and
cars history is completely documented back to the building project. All receipts since 2004 are available and
some pictures of the initial building by Tex Racing in 1987. The car has been
unchanged with exception of wheels and tires since the build in 1987. The Roadster runs well and very dependable on
the road. Now in our 70’s my wife and I both drive it to car shows and
cruise-ins. The roadster has 8,646 miles since the building and very dependable
on the road. The car is titled 1929 Ford Roadster. The owner is selling it due to health reasons. We will miss the Roadster and have many fond memories of owning it. Ford opens research center in Silicon Valley
Fri, Jan 23 2015These days, the software running a vehicle's myriad of electronic systems seems to be getting nearly as much development focus from automakers as the traditional mechanical parts that keep a car going. Constantly improving that technology requires a lot of experimentation, though, and Ford is expanding its presence in Silicon Valley with the just-opened Research and Innovation Center Palo Alto to make that progress possible. Ford opened its first office in the country's technological hub in 2012 to draw talent and devise ways to deal with vast amounts of sensor data. Apparently, setting up shop in Silicon Valley was deemed a success because the Blue Oval decided to create this new lab in the Stanford Research Park to focus on five areas: connectivity, mobility, autonomous vehicles, customer experience and analytics. Among the center's potential projects, Ford is hoping to develop better natural speech recognition, which is absolutely vital for improving infotainment systems. Assuming the tech eventually works well enough, your voice might even be used to adjust a vehicle's power seats, according to the automaker. The Blue Oval is also letting engineers from Stanford University test autonomous driving algorithms on a self-driving version of the Fusion. In a smaller stakes venture, researchers are working to get a Nest smart thermometer to automatically adjust the temperature at home depending on if an owner's vehicle is leaving or coming back. To really show that its serious about these ventures, Ford hired Dragos Maciuca away from Apple as the center's technical leader. The automaker also wants to have 125 researchers at work there by the end of the year.
Ford issues four recalls covering 163k vehicles
Tue, 19 Aug 2014Recalls! 2014 will be forever remembered as the year that automakers went recall crazy, with millions and millions of vehicles adding up to crush previous recall records well before the end of the year. Adding to that tally is Ford, which announced a call-back for 163,000 vehicles.
Leading that charge are the 2.0-liter, EcoBoost four-cylinder engines of the Ford Focus ST and Ford Escape. 160,000 of the 2013 and 2014 models have bad wiring harnesses that can disrupt the signals traveling to the powertrain control module. That, in turn, could lead to a check engine light, reduced power and stalling. Notably, Ford hasn't recalled any other vehicles that feature the 2.0 EcoBoost, such as the Fusion, Taurus or Explorer.
While the Focus ST and Escape constitute the vast majority of recalled vehicles, they aren't the only problem children in the Ford family. 1,300 Transit passenger vans from model year 2015 were recalled due to brake fluid leaks, while another 600 Transit cargo variants were recalled after Ford discovered the windowless sliding doors could come open in the event of a side-impact crash. Dealers will replace the sealing washers on the passenger variants and add a reinforcement plate on the cargo models, The Detroit News reports.
Again? Ford issues second 2015 Fusion and Lincoln MKZ seat belt recall
Fri, Aug 16 2019In 2016, Ford issued a recall for 603,392 2013-2016 Fusions and 2013-2015 Lincoln MKZs due to potentially faulty seat belts. Apparently, that wasn't the end of it. Ford announced another recall this week for the same issue, this time covering 108,399 2015 Fusions and MKZs. In both cases, the seat belt anchor pretensioners are the issue. According to Ford, "increased temperatures generated during deployment of the driver or front-passenger seat belt anchor pretensioner could degrade the tensile strength of the cable below the level needed to restrain an occupant." Basically, heat could weaken the seat belts, and in extreme cases, they wouldn't be able to keep up proper safety standards. Ford knows of at least one injury that has occurred due to this issue.  The recall includes 103,374 vehicles in the United States, 4,002 in Canada, and 1,023 in Mexico. Possibly affected Fusions were built at Ford's Flat Rock Assembly Plant between August 1, 2014 and January 30, 2015. The MKZs were built at the Hermosillo Assembly Plant between August 1, 2014 and November 21, 2014. As a fix, Ford says dealers will add an extra coating to the seat belt pretensioner cable for protection from the heat. If this recall might affect your vehicle, call your local Ford dealership and use recall reference No. 19S25. This news comes after Ford recalled 1.3 million Fusions and MKZs in 2018 due to the possibility that the steering wheels could fall off. Fusions have also been recalled due to the risk of rolling away.
