Model T Truck Ford on 2040-cars

Year:1919 Mileage:1
Location:

Lansing, Kansas, United States

Lansing, Kansas, United States

What are you getting your special loved one for Christmas - that no one else has? Here is the answer -

Wonderful 1919 Ford Model TT with a 1926 engine and transmission. Truck runs and has a two stage ruxtal rear end. This truck is clean and neat.

What about using this great truck for:
  • Photography business - old time or modern
  • Parades
  • Restaurant business
  • Resorts or hayrides
  • Farm or ranch vehicle
  • Other unique and fun uses
I have converted the box for use as a photography studio so it has three separate sections for the box. The box is made of 1/2 inch white oak, but I also have the original box that is shown in the older photo (all black) of the truck. Both boxes are included in this sale. The box that is mounted on the truck now can be swapped out for the original box very easily. Section 1 of the box is approximately 12" x 6'8". Section 2 of the box is approximately 18" x 5'. Section 3 of the box is approximately 4' x 6'6". The box is approximately 4' high throughout.

This is a great truck for the hobbyist. You can make the box into whatever use you want. I currently use it as a photo studio for antique photography. Section 1 of the box is my old west bar, Section 2 is my area for developing photos (hence the white curtain that you see in the photos that makes it a functioning dark room), and Section 3 is used for equipment storage. The box area can be easily rearranged for a different application.

The engine has been (within the last 10 miles) thoroughly cleaned inside and out.
  • The commutator (distributor) is new, as are the plugs and plug wires.
  • The two kerosene lamps are not original to this year of Model TT but they look good and are complete.
  • The head gasket is new.
  • The carburetor is a new factory rebuilt.
  • The radiator leaks just a tiny bit out of the top, but has never bothered me.
  • The frame and engine have been sand blasted and repainted in the past year.
  • The front fenders have a few small dents that you can see in the pictures. The dents do not detract from the presentation of the truck.
  • The top covers of the cab and the box are new.
  • The seat and backrest of the interior of the cab are new.
The license plate mounted on the radiator is on an authentic antique Ford bracket and the tag is an authentic 1919 Kansas tag.

There is an electrical outlet in each of the three sections (compartments) of the box. You just have to plug an extension cord in at the left rear of the cab (as shown in one of the pics) and all of the three outlets are then available for use.

The decorative stuff that is in the primary picture is not part of this auction; just wanted to show how I use Section 1, the old west bar.

Ford predicts it will finish 2013 as top-selling US brand

Mon, 30 Dec 2013

Ford is ready to call the ball on its 2013 sales totals, predicting a first-place finish for units sold in the US for a single brand. The company anticipates selling more than 2.4 million vehicles when all vehicle sales over the last 12 months have been tallied, repeating the victory it trumpeted over Toyota last year.
According to Ford's accounting, it sold 329,677 more vehicles than did Toyota in 2012. This year, the Blue Oval expects that margin to grow; through the end of November, Ford says it has outsold Toyota by 396,041 units.
Retail sales of Ford products are projected to exceed 1.7 million units for 2013 (the best retail result in 6 years for the company), with passenger cars accounting for 600k of that total. The redesigned Fusion is expected to crest the 290k mark, and the Fiesta is said to be ready to hit a model-record of 70k-plus. Meanwhile, utility vehicles and trucks are still paying a lot of bills in Dearborn, with the new Escape racking up an expected 300k sales and F-Series trucks chugging along at 688,810 units sold thru November.

Motorweek goes retro with '80s hot hatch shootout

Mon, 03 Nov 2014

Motorweek's decades of history on television make it the perfect medium to look back into the automotive past and see how things are different now. It recently added old road test videos to its YouTube channel of the Acura NSX and Toyota Supra, as well as the Ferrari F40. For one of its newest flashback clips, Motorweek has exhumed an affordable five-car challenge of 1986's premiere hot hatches.
By today's standards, this is an eclectic field that features fondly remembered classics like the Volkswagen GTI 16-valve and Acura Integra. However, it also throws in some nearly forgotten contenders like the Dodge Colt Turbo and Ford Escort GT. The angular Toyota Corolla FX16 GT-S rounds out the group.
It's fascinating to watch Motorweek run the quintet through the slalom, down the drag strip and on various roads. What's most striking in this clip is the difference in the definition of a performance car between then and now. With its 16-valve, 1.8-liter four-cylinder, the GTI is the burliest of the contenders with 123 horsepower, but it still takes 8.8 seconds to reach 60 miles per hour. By today's standards, that would make it a plain-jane economy car, and not even a particularly quick one.

Weekly Recap: Ford GT inspires guitar, foosball table, sailboat

Sat, Apr 18 2015

Ford design vice president Moray Callum had just wrapped up a briefing on the interior of the Ford GT last month, but something seemed out of place. He grinned and pointed behind him, "You might be wondering why I have a boat behind me," he said mischievously. It was there because Ford set its designers on a mission to stretch and showcase their talents: design non-automotive objects inspired by the interior of the GT supercar. Callum received quite a response, too. His team produced a guitar, a foosball table (yeah bro!), a racing sailboat, a Wi-Fi speaker and some furniture. As the veteran design chief explained, "It's a really great exercise both to highlight our designers' talents, but also to really see how our design philosophy can work and how you can use it and get a common response back from a worldwide design team." Guitar View 25 Photos The objects have been on display this week at the Salone del Mobile furniture and fashion design fair in Milan, Italy, where Ford has had a presence for three years. There's also a light exhibition that apparently was inspired by the GT, as well. While this might seem a little far-fetched for the automaker, Ford said exhibitions like the Salone del Mobile give its designers another way to be creative and ultimately produce striking interior style. Ford wants this to be a differentiator, as research shows consumers are placing emphasis on the layout and features inside when they're making a decision about buying a new car. It's a little light hearted – but it's also potentially big business. Other News & Notes Cadillac CT6 platform could be used for Buick General Motors product chief Mark Reuss said the Cadillac CT6 platform could be used for a large Buick, though "not yet," Automotive News reported. The underpinnings can accommodate rear-wheel or all-wheel drive and would give Buick the large flagship it lacks. The report jibes with comments Reuss made at a roundtable with Autoblog and other reporters at the New York Auto Show. When asked if Buick had space for a large car on the CT6 chassis, he replied, "Yeah, I think it does. Yeah, I think we do." Buick has revamped its lineup in recent years with attractive crossovers and small and midsize sedans, but hasn't added the proverbial flagship that's yearned for by enthusiasts. Buick surprised industry observers with the stylish Avenir concept at the Detroit Auto Show earlier this year that raised the possibility of a halo sedan.
