Available for your consideration is a 1927 Model T unmolested barn find. This vehicle was pulled out of a barn years ago in Minnesota and then hauled to Ohio where once again garage stored for close to 20 years. At one time this vehicle has had a Model A transmission conversion done. I do not know these cars but did read this is a sought after conversion for drivability. Also you will find a very unique steering wheel. The engine has the hand crank in place. I was told engine did run which was 20 years ago. I have not attempted to start the vehicle or turn it over. Pulled out of garage and flat bedded to my building and listed for sale. The person who owned it had intentions to restore but age caught up with him. It sat in a corner of the garage for years with stuff piled so high would of never known car was in there.  Vehicle rolls well considering sitting on 17.5 inch wheels with flat tires. Car rolls with ease. Gear shifter shifts with ease. All glass looks great with no damage. No roof on car. Wood all gone. Interior all there but needs redone. Car seems to be loose on the chassis. I assume would mounts and floor weak. Please review all pictures and determine value then bid accordingly. The steel on this car is unreal. So clean. Left rear fender was bent at one time. All steel otherwise is remarkable. I see 4 year old cars in worse shape metal wise. So very solid. I am not certain about the steering wheel in this car. Not certain if original but believe it is not. A real awesome steering wheel. This car has been untouched for many years. You are bidding on a unmolested Model T that has been stored for years and the first time offered. This car is being sold on a bill of sale. No title. Bill of sale only. An amazing piece of history. The Model T is believed to be the start of the modern day production line. The T has only been outsold by the VW Beetle and that had taken many more years of production vs the Ford T....This is the real TIN LIZZY!!!! Do not miss out on this piece of history. Bid accordingly...Sold on Bill of sale....

Former Cadillac boss Butler takes Ford tech job

Tue, 07 Jan 2014

When Don Butler made the surprising decision to leave his post as Cadillac's VP of global strategic development, it was a surprise. Citing a desire to "recalibrate, reassess my priorities" in that August announcement, it wasn't entirely clear where Butler - a virtual General Motors lifer after spending nearly 30 years with the company - would end up. Turns out he took a trip to Dearborn.
Butler has taken a position in the newly created position of Executive Director of Connected Vehicles and Services at Ford, where he'll be responsible for the Blue Oval's global connectivity strategy. "Not only does Don understand the connected car landscape, but probably just as important, he understands customer expectations," said Raj Nair, who, as Group Vice President of Global Product Development, is Butler's new boss. "Having a leader with technology experience both inside and outside the industry is a rare combination - we're excited to have Don join our team."
As Ford has received its fair share of flak for the sometimes recalcitrant MyFord Touch infotainment system and its Sync voice-controls, it appears that Butler has his work cut out for him.

Social media star Scott Monty leaves Ford

Thu, 22 May 2014

It seems weird to think that an automaker could have a social media star, but Ford does. Or at least it did. Scott Monty, its Global Digital Communications Manager, led the company's team for almost six years and forged a reputation as being one of the most talented people in corporate social media. But the guru recently announced that he would be leaving the automaker for an undisclosed job elsewhere.
"I just decided the time was right. I am going to take a little time with my family, and I am going to start on a new adventure pretty soon," said Monty in an interview with AdWeek. He also explained a little about his theory of how companies should use social media. In his opinion, it should be a chance to go beyond standard marketing and build a relationship with people. Businesses need to have a broad focus for its online message, and using just one service isn't enough to be successful.
Under his guidance, Ford expanded its Facebook presence significantly. According to AdWeek, it launched the 2010 Explorer on the popular site. Also, when the company wanted to investigate selling electric models, it initially gauged the public's reaction on Facebook and then advertised them there first. Monty has been a major supporter of Twitter as well to broaden the company's communication with the public.

Detroit's new fleet of donated police cars have safety issues [w/video]

Wed, 23 Oct 2013

In a show of generosity in mid-August, Detroit's business leaders donated $8 million to the Police Department and Fire Department in order to buy 100 new police vehicles and 23 EMS ambulances. But now officers have discovered - and complained - that the police vehicles have glaring safety issues, Deadline Detroit reports. It is not made clear what models of the fleet vehicles - which include police versions of the Ford Taurus, the Chevrolet Caprice and the Dodge Charger - are affected by the safety issues.
Officers reportedly have complained that the Plexiglass partition separating front-seat officers and back-seat prisoners is easily breached, and that the front passenger seat is installed too close to the dashboard. Prisoners who manage to writhe out of their handcuffs can bend the Plexiglass and reach into the cockpit, and sitting too close to the dashboard can render airbags more dangerous and make officers more vulnerable to injury in a crash.
Mark Diaz, president of the Detroit Police Officers Association, received the complaints and reportedly said the vehicles would get safety updates addressing the issues. But Deadline Detroit reports that it checked some of the offending police cars and, as of the last few days, they hadn't been updated.
