1927 Ford Model T Coupe - Traditional Hot Rod - Chopped on 2040-cars
Zimmerman, Minnesota, United States
I am selling my all steel 1927 coupe. It is chopped 6" with a 53' chevy roof filling the top.(old school trick) Just a cheap rattle can paint job to achieve the traditional look. It has glass windshield and 1/4" plexi-glass quarter windows and back window. There is no glass in doors but I have working regulators in doors. The doors are in pretty good condition. The trunk lid was fabricated from a replacement skin. The motor is an older G.M. 350 crate motor with a vintage Weiand cross ram with 2 Holly 450 cfm carbs. Vintage AFX valve covers and lake style headers. It has a Walker radiator. It has a turbo 350 automatic transmission and a 8" rearend. It has highway gears (not sure what) but it runs about 2800 rpm's at 70 mph. It is on a 2"x3" tube frame Speedway front suicide axle and disc brakes. Rearend has coils and shocks with hairpins to frame. It has King Bee headlights and 39' ford style taillights. All lights work properly. It has Stewart Warner gauges which all work properly. The master cylinder is under dash from an early Mustang. It has disc brakes in front and drum at rear. The battery is located in trunk and fuel tank is behind seats. The wheels are Rocket Racing Wheels with B.F. Goodrich tires from Coker. It has a Lokar shifter. I'm not sure what the seats are out of. (swap meet find). I have driven this car for the past 3 years to about 25 car shows per year. It runs cool in traffic and handles nice at highway speeds. My reason for selling is I want to get a Model A streetrod or a cool gasser. The car is for sale or trade locally and listing may end early.

Watch how Ford torture-tested the 2015 F-150
Wed, 09 Apr 2014The Ford F-150 has been the best-selling truck in the United States for the past 37 years, and the best-selling vehicle outright for the past 32. That's quite a legacy, and thus, it's no surprise that Ford worked super-duper-extra hard on creating the all-new, aluminum-bodied 2015 F-150 that debuted at the Detroit Auto Show earlier this year.
During an event at the company's headquarters in Dearborn, MI this week, we were able to see all of the ways that Ford endurance tests, not just the new F-150, but all of its vehicles. From examining things like light exposure to interior materials and paint finishes, to making sure that corrosion absolutely does not happen when steel components come in contact with aluminum panels in the new truck. The goal: ensure that the new F-150 is nothing short of "Built Ford Tough."
But that's only a small part of the story. Of course, the new F-150 has to be able to withstand whatever a pickup buyer might throw at it - and truck buyers arguably demand the most from their vehicles. So in an effort to convey just what the new F-150 had to go through before being given the final go-ahead, Ford has released a series of videos, showing how its new halo truck was indeed torture tested.
Recharge Wrap-up: Tesla considers Model III SUV and wagon, Ford tears Tesla apart
Mon, Oct 27 2014Worries over Brazil's electric grid mean EVs are excluded from green car incentives. As part of a new efficiency program, non-plug-in hybrids will be eligible for a reduction in import duties, while EVs and plug-in hybrids will not. Brazil's government is concerned that the country's grid lacks the capacity to handle the increased load from an influx of EVs. Brazil plans to create a new incentive program - perhaps a more inclusive one - when the current one expires at the end of 2015. Read more at Green Car Reports. Tesla could make SUV and wagon derivatives of the upcoming Model III sedan. Tesla's VP of engineering, Chris Porritt, told Auto Express that to reach as many customers as possible, Tesla would consider all its options. "SUVs, estates - who knows?" says Porritt. He also says that while the company is currently focused on products with a broader appeal, another Roadster or other sports car aren't out of the question in the future. Read more at Auto Express. Ford admits to a Tesla Model S teardown. Ford CEO Mark Fields says that after disassembling, reassembling and driving the model S, his company is "very familiar with that product." He also says the Ford has the capability to build a similarly high-tech, long-range electric car. The questions still remains if Ford has plans for such a vehicle, but Fields says that it fits within Ford's "product philosophy." Read more at Business Insider and at USA Today.
American automakers fall in latest Fortune 500 rankings
Fri, 10 May 2013Not that it means anything beyond bragging rights, but if you're fixated on the positions of domestic automakers on the annual Fortune 500 list, both General Motors and Ford are still on it but they've slipped a couple of notches. The list ranks American companies and they're ordered solely by revenue. GM, fifth last year, came in seventh, while Ford fell from ninth to tenth even though both companies saw small gains in annual revenue.
GM's $152.3 billion in revenue was less than a third of that of the first company on the list: Wal-Mart, which regained the title from Exxon Mobil. Berkshire Hathaway and Apple are the firms that moved GM down. Ford, displaced by energy company Valero, had $134.3 billion in revenue.
On a side note, profitability isn't a factor, but both GM and Ford were down in this year's list compared to last year's: GM declined from $9.2 billion to $6.2 billion, Ford fell from $20.2 billion to $5.6 billion. If profits were included, Exxon Mobil would probably still be king: although the energy company made almost $20 billion less in revenue than Wal-Mart's $469.2 billion, it posted $44.9 billion in profit compared to Wal-Mart's $17 billion.
