I already have more into this than I will get out of it but that's the way things go sometimes.
The generator and switch panel were replaced and I bought the top of line ammeter as well.
In addition to that there are complete new wiring harnesses but have been wired only to run the car.
There is a new exhaust manifold (and the proper steel/copper rings) and ball bearing fan pulley.
The fella I bought this from had not run it for 25 years after having removied a boatload of small stuff (and some large stuff which I reassembled) to have the car painted.
He also installed a new top wood kit (did a nice job too) and I have the pad and top covering.
I was going to go with a stained underside for the roof which you can see in the one photo. Since then I decided I'm going to quit on it altogether. The plywood is screwed, not glued, to the framework so can be very easily removed.
I have the dome light and the door post switch is in the car. The wood door posts are solid......REAL solid.
He had put all new Coker tires on it too but skimped on tubes so it sat with flat tires which caused some crazing.
I had new, metal stemmed, tubes installed in all 4 tires.
I got a very good used cowl vent as the old one had the handle broken off.
The car obviously has no interior at all to speak of. I have the rear seat cushion and container full of misc. screws and such.
All the side windows should be replaced (should be anyway.......when plate glass breaks it isn't pretty).
The unobtainium rear, rear, window lifter brackets and rods came the car too.......which I discovered after unwrapping painted parts that had been wrapped up for 25 years......whew.
It runs on mag but an in-car magnet recharge would soup it up nicely.
Almost forgot, I have a new set of expensive hardwood floorboards and trim for the front too.
I should mention it's still winter here and getting the car out NOW will be difficult.......possible but a major struggle.

Ford recalling 205k Edge and Lincoln MKX units for possible corrosion
Thu, 30 Oct 2014After the horrible weather last winter, it's hard to look forward for the season to return this year. For those readers in much of the country, the snow is going to be flying soon, and with it comes salt on the roads. That means Ford's regional recall for the 2007-2008 Edge and Lincoln MKX arrives at the perfect time because they are at risk for corrosion.
The campaign covers 204,448 examples of the models in 21 states, plus the District of Columbia and some provinces of Canada. In total there are 186,024 vehicles in need of repair in the US and 18,424 in Canada.
According to Ford, it's possible for the area, "under the reinforcement brackets where the fuel tank is mounted" to corrode. If this happens, there might be a gas smell in the vehicle or even a fuel leak could develop. In fact, the automaker reports that one fire could be related to the problem but no injuries or accidents are reported.
Ford recalls 83k Taurus and crossover models for halfshaft issue
Fri, 15 Aug 2014Ford and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration have issued a recall for some 83,250 vehicles in the US, for an issue with halfshafts. More specifically a "halfshaft retention circlip" might not have been properly installed on affected vehicles, with the result being halfshafts that may move improperly or disengage completely from the linkshaft while driving. The NHTSA release also notes that the issue may occur "without prior warning" which obviously factors in to the timeliness of getting this checked.
Should the halfshaft disengage, a few troubling things could happen. If it occurs while driving, power from the engine will no longer be transmitted to the wheels. And, if the vehicle is parked without the parking brake applied after disengagement of the circlip, vehicles may roll away even if they're transmissions have been placed in "Park."
Affected vehicles are as follows: Ford Edge and Lincoln MKX crossovers from model years 2012 to 2014; Ford Taurus and Lincoln MKS sedans from model years 2013 to 2014; Ford Flex and Lincoln MKT vehicles from model years 2013 to 2014.
