What a great hot rod! I took this 1923 Ford T Bucket in trade a while back and don’t drive it as much as I had planned to, so I've decided to sell it.  (I have three of them and don’t have time to work on and drive all of them.)

I didn't build the car; it was built by the infamous Grumpy’s Garage.  I've built enough of these things to recognize the amount of money that went into this one. This thing is pretty much turnkey (other than putting your own touches on it ) so instead of wasting the next two to three years building your own, jump in this one and head to the show nearest to you today! I've only driven this thing a few miles but it was a BLAST.   It is fasssstttt as hell. Certain to put a smile on your face

As far as I can tell, and coupled with the information I was given by the previous owner below is a list of what the car has:

1.                             Totally custom boxed channeled, reinforced chassis (not sure what brand the chassis is) extremely detailed, all painted/pinstriped/chromed. Drop front axle, front disc brakes, drum rear brakes all accessories, lines either chrome or painted…did I mention this damn thing has A LOT of chrome and detail, detail, detail ! lots and lots of work and $$$$$

2.                             Fiberglass body, (looks like speedway) with pickup bed, custom stake, upholstered cover, with approx 16 gal tank. Very nicely done. Finished in hot-rod black with pinstripes…looks great in person! I've run a body shop for the last several years, and I can tell you the body is nice and straight and the paint is very decent, definitely not a rat rod, but a nice hot rod with an old school look. It’s been to several rod runs in our area, and is always a crowd favorite and wins awards.

3.                             Very nicely done totally built 283 ( detailed with lots of chrome, high rise with single 4 barrel hei ignition, high flow radiator, ( I believe turbo 400 trans/w shift kit) and old school looking shifter, and a bunch of old school touches! A lot of heart and several Benjamins went into this build and it shows!  Roadster headers, with walker mufflers (most don’t spend the money for these).   Sounds awesome and hauls ass! Very tight and solid, drives great, everything seems to work as it should, has been licensed and registered in Utah for the last few years.

4.                             Really nice upholstery, not your run of the mill snap in garbage usually associated with T-buckets and Volkswagen dune-buggies! You couldn't build this car for twice the price of the reserve.

This vehicle will sell! The reserve is low and the car is awesome, so bid fast and bid often. Please feel free to contact me with any further questions you may have I’m available late every day. Thanks, Jerry 801-668-1924.

The car is also available for sale locally and so I reserve the right to end the auction at any time before the reserve is met thanks for looking and good luck!

Barrett-Jackson 2014: First production 2015 Ford Mustang earns $300k for JDRF [w/video]

Sat, 18 Jan 2014

We've almost become immune to the huge dollar amounts that collectible cars earn for charity at Barrett-Jackson. To wit, $300,000 for the first production 2015 Ford Mustang initially didn't seem like very much money. In reality, though, it's probably about 10 times the actual asking price for the car, and we're pleased to report that 100 percent of the proceeds will go to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
According to Ford, the car's winning bidder will get to "choose a fastback with manual or automatic transmission, and any interior, exterior and stripe color combination offered by Ford on the all-new Mustang." Power will come from a slightly revised version of the well-known 5.0-liter V8 engine that will produce "more than 420hp and 396 pound-feet of torque."
We snapped live images of the 2015 Mustang prototype that Ford had on display here at Barrett-Jackson, and you can check them out above. The official auction description, along with a video of the auction as it happened live, is below.

Weekly Recap: Jaguar takes a leap with price cut, new strategy

Sat, Sep 5 2015

Jaguar was one of the famous automotive props and plotlines in the now-iconic drama Mad Men. There's a scene where the show's protagonist, Don Draper, deftly undercuts an influential Jaguar dealer by indicating that get-me-in-the-door local radio spots would be an effective way to sell cars like the slinky E-Type. The British executives think this is folly – Draper knows they will – and his advertising strategy wins out over the dealer's approach to move the metal. Jaguar's not doing that, but half a century later in the real world the company is launching plans to make its cars more attainable to new and younger customers like Millenials. These aren't coupons, but this is a leap for Jaguar, which has long banked on sexy styling and its rich motorsports history to overshadow its past mechanical flaws. Put simply, Jaguar is addressing the reasons why people, especially the younger set, don't buy its cars. The 2017 XE will start at $35,895 when it launches next spring – which makes it an attractive buy for a successful, relatively young person. When it's time to move up, the redesigned XF will be more attainable, coming in at $52,895, which is $5,275 less than the 2015 model. The flagship XJ sedan and the enthusiast-oriented F-Type sports car will also get thousands of dollars worth of added standard features, and Jag is actively pitching them as a better value than their competitors. "The Jaguar brand is on the eve of a major transformation that will see it dramatically increase its presence in the United States luxury marketplace with an expanded lineup, pricing focused on the core of the luxury market, and an all-new ownership package with best-in-class coverage," Joe Eberhardt, CEO of Jaguar Land Rover North America, said in a statement. The brand's quality and reliability dings have also lurked in the back of buyers' minds for decades, though that's an outdated notion. Jaguar placed third in J.D. Power's Initial Quality Study in June and was the top-ranked luxury brand in J.D. Power's Customer Service Index in March. Not content, the company is rolling out an enhanced program called Jaguar EliteCare that launches on 2016 models. It offers a five-year, 60,000-mile limited warranty, the longest among its competitors, with free scheduled maintenance during that period. The plan also covers roadside assistance and connectivity features.

Entry-level F-150 now offers SuperCrew, Sport Package

Thu, 29 Aug 2013

Ford has made a few notable tweaks to the lower end of its F-150 lineup, giving customers a more affordable version of the four-door SuperCrew body style. The popular SuperCrew could previously only be had on XLT models and above, but Ford has announced that 2014 F-150s with the base STX trim can get the more versatile body.
The STX SuperCrew brings the price of a four-door F-150 down from $34,525 to $33,145. Like the XLT SuperCrew, the STX will be available with the choice of a 5.5- or 6.5-foot bed, while a 5.0-liter V8 can replace the base 3.7-liter V6 for $4,425. Ford has not released pricing on the different bed lengths yet, but opting for the 6.5-foot bed on the XLT raises the price $1,240 and forces buyers into the 5.0-liter V8. We'd expect a similar arrangement on the STX.
The other big news for fans of affordable pickups is the addition of an STX Sport Package on the base-level truck. It adds 20-inch wheels, black exterior accents, black-and-gray cloth seats and decals on the truck's box. The Sport Package is available on all three of the STX's body styles, with Ford listing the price as $980 with current discounts.
