Here is a 1929 model A pickup that is 98% complete and runs good. It is from western KS and has minimal rust. It was up dated in the 1940's with a rare Mallory distributer , a cool air breather was added and so was a very interesting oil cap. I put a new timing gear in it along with a new head gasket and other gaskets and a coil. It has some dints and dings but would look really good going down the road. It has a "barn yard" paint job. No body work is done except for back fender so what you see is what you get . A person could sand it here and there and have a cool jalopy. That's why I left the motor " barn fresh" on the outside. It really wouldn't take too long to get it going down the road. The back brakes work. The front one's aren't connected. The gas tank needs to be cleaned. It needs an exhaust. One side glass is out. Cab wood is good but if you put an original top on it you will need top wood. Needs bed wood. Bodies in this condition are getting harder to find. I hate to part with it , but the better half thinks I need to narrow my projects so to keep peace this one has to go. Brits recreate iconic Bullitt chase scene
Tue, 13 May 2014Recreating the famous chase scene from Bullitt has become almost an art form in its own right. We've seen it done in a music video, with scale models and even in commercials. There are few films that are as defined by a single scene as the 1968 classic. Even if you don't know a single beat of the plot, the Highland Green Ford Mustang racing a Dodge Charger through the hilly streets of San Francisco is famous. It's so well known that the Silverstone Classic has created a homage to promote its celebration of the 50th Anniversary of the Mustang at this year's event in July.
Filmed around the famous UK circuit, the short film generally gets the key points of the scene right. It even has a green Volkswagen Beetle that keeps reappearing, as in the movie. Unfortunately, its Steve McQueen stand-in looks a little too old for the role. While the video shortens the chase considerably, it's still great to see these '60s behemoths leaning and sliding around the track. Ford UK exec says EVs are a good way to lose a fortune

And despite a minimal presence in the pure EV space, the Blue Oval has been promoting its plug-in vehicles as part of an overall effort to boost fleetwide fuel economy. Too bad the company's UK chief didn't get the memo. There's "no point in us getting behind [EVs] and losing a fortune" - Ford's Mark Ovenden Mark Ovenden, speaking rather frankly at the Geneva Motor Show recently, said he didn't have real high hopes for substantial electric-vehicle adoption and said the company's money was better spent on smaller gas- and diesel-powered engines, the UK's Daily Mail says. Ovenden said of EV development that there was "no point in us getting behind it and losing a fortune," adding that his goal was to have variants of Ford's EcoBoost engine in 40 percent of the company's vehicles. Ford has about a 15-percent market share in the UK. The UK doesn't appear to be as kind to the EV as the US. Nissan last year cut the price of its all-electric Leaf there last year by about $4,000, while the company rolled out a promotion for the Leaf late last year, including allowing Leaf drivers to borrow a gas- or diesel-powered Nissan for free for as long as two weeks a year during the first three years of Leaf ownership. In the US, Ford sold just 229 Ford Focus Electrics during the first two months of the year after moving 1,738 units in 2013.
