1931 Model A Ford Flathead V8

Car was built in 1959 like it is.  I've tried to keep it as close as possible to that.  I have replaced the following: new Coker bias ply tires, all wheel cylinders, brake hoses, master cylinder, inner and outer rear axel seals, full dual exhaust, magna flow stainless steel mufflers, 6 volt battery.
Glass is in great condition, all windows roll up & down, doors close nicely.  New roof.  I've added turn signals and right rear tail light for safety.  Still running stock gas tank which has been boiled out.  All factory gages work.  Oil and temperature gage are from a 1957 Jaguar and both work.  Engine is a 1948 Ford flathead, runs strong - pulls 20 inches of vacuum at idle.  Tranny is 1937 Ford 3-speed.  Rear end is stock banjo.  Frame is Stock Model A.  1949 Mercury reversed rims.  1960 Chevy truck master cylinder also has original ansen swing pedals.  All lights and charging system work great.  Stock front seats.  I have front and rear bumpers, spare tire and mount and rear seat upper spring frame - I have lower seat springs, not correct but will go with car anyway.  I also have hood sides.  I've put a super bell 4 inch dropped axle and all tie rod ends, needle bearing, king pins, and pitman arm.  I've also had shocks installed all around.  Steering wheel is 1940 Ford.  Heater fan works.  I've never hooked it up to the engine so I don't know how core is.  I was told it was out of a 1940 Ford.  Brake system is 1948 juice breaks.  There is a little rust on the right rear quarter panel lip and some small pinholes at bottom lip of doors (see pictures).  That is the worst part on the cars body.  The body is tight.  There are no patch panels on this body - what you see is what you get.  Body wood is also in very good condition.   Car is not chopped or channeled.  Front fenders are 50+ year old fiberglass in very good shape.  Rest of car is all original steel.

Problems:  Steering box needs rebuild.  Car has front wheel wobble at low speed.  The wobble goes away over 30mph.  Transmission pops out of 2nd gear when coming down in high rpm (just started doing this).  There are no other issues with the car.

I do have some knowledge of cars history as told to me by cars previous owner.  Car is currently registered and inspected.  Car was said to be primer red in the early 60's.  It was grey when built in 1959.  Car was also autographed by Candy Clark from American Graffiti (see pictures).   Car is located in Nazareth, PA if you want to come look.  Car is for sale locally I reserve the right to remove from eBay at any time.

Shelby to auction 2012 GT350 No. 1 in Vegas

Thu, 19 Sep 2013

With Shelby preparing to wind down production of its brutal GT350, a 624-horsepower Mustang that's meant to go up against the Roush Stage 3 in the world of tuned Ford ponycars, the Las Vegas-based tuner is looking to give back to one lucky customer. It'll auction off the very first GT350 ever produced, at the 2013 Barrett-Jackson auction in Las Vegas, a three-day event that runs from September 26 through September 28.
The GT350 is a monster, with a 5.0-liter, supercharged V8 that's been tuned well past 600 horsepower in a time when Ford's own Shelby-branded GT500 barely reached 550 horsepower. The GT350 is much louder than Ford's effort, too, both visually and audibly. The wide body look isn't what we'd call conventional, but on a car that sounds and goes like this, something extreme is needed. According to Shelby American's vice president of production, Gary Davis, "Carroll was very excited about the new wide body option, so that was included on this car. It's the first 2012 GT350 serial number from our anniversary year. It is a very special car." Wilwood brakes, a massaged suspension, and some very fat, sticky tires add to the Shelby experience.
This particular GT350 will be lot number 750, and will cross the Barrett-Jackson stage on Sunday, September 28.

Ford Mustang returning to Australia in 2016

Mon, 15 Jul 2013

Australia's Herald Sun newspaper has reported that the next-generation Ford Mustang is heading Down Under in 2016, just as Ford is hanging the "Closed for Good" sign on its Australian manufacturing operations and sending the Falcon to its grave. Ford hasn't offered any official word on the matter, but the paper says that Ford's global VP of sales and marketing, Jim Farley, is flying to Australia to make the announcement himself.
While Ford converted Mustangs in the early 2000s from left-hand to right-hand drive for the Australian market and then sold them at high prices, it's been almost five decades since Ford imported a dedicated right-hand-drive Mustang to Oz. The arrival of the global model specifically made for places like Australia and the UK means Ford will also be able to offer them at better prices than the converted models; the Herald Sun says the price is expected to be "close to $50,000."
And that's for one of the "V8 performance models," which are the only ones Australia will get; Ford apparently won't send the turbocharged four cylinder or the V6. The Aussies could find out in a month from now whether this rumor is true. We will all find out what this Mustang fuss is about when the car debuts at next year's New York Auto Show.

Ford's Mulally makes shortlist for Microsoft CEO

Fri, 08 Nov 2013

Ford CEO Alan Mulally has made the short list to take over tech giant Microsoft, lending further credence to rumors that the 68-year-old former Boeing exec would ditch Dearborn and move to Redmond.
The report comes from Reuters, which claims that alongside Mulally, former Nokia CEO Stephen Elop and three candidates from within Microsoft are on the short list to succeed Steve Ballmer at the company's helm, although previous reports claim the Ford exec is the number one candidate. Mulally is currently working without a contract, although Bill Ford seems to believe that he isn't likely to depart. Despite this belief, Ford was quoted just last month talking about the depth of talent on the Blue Oval's executive team.
"There is no change from what we announced last November. Alan remains fully focused on continuing to make progress on our One Ford plan. We do not engage in speculation," said Ford spokesman Jay Cooney.
