1930 Model A Ford coupe, hot rod modern style. This car was restored by an older gentleman in or around 1994. I purchased the car from another fellow who purchased the car from the estate.

I was going to make a period correct hot rod out of it but after owning it for awhile, just couldn't bring myself to take off the fenders, splash aprons, running boards ect. It would look pretty cool

with them off and perhaps a 32 grill and shell added to the front, but I'll let the new owner be the judge. I had the engine completely rebuilt by Antique Engine Rebuilding out of Skokie, Ill. It has

all the good stuff, line bored, inserts, bronze thrust washers, stainless valves ect. It also has a new 6:0 Snyders high compression head installed at the time of rebuild. It also has the Weber downdraft

intake and carb along with a new set of Red's headers. It now has all kinds of power (an additional 25-27 horse) so it is running around 65-67 horsepower. I will list all the new parts which are;

Rebuilt engine

Weber carb and intake

Reds headers

float-a-motor, front and rear

new alternator

new leak-less water pump with stainless shaft

new style fan and hub

rebuilt starter with new bendix drive

new coil

modern style points,cap, and wiring

new set of gauges, oil and water

new battery carrier

temp probe pipe

new red hot muffler and tail-pipe

new hoses

new brake drums and new shoes on the front with other new brake parts, brakes work very good.

new tires with Firestone style tread, new tubes and liners

new modern style shocks from Snyders, the good kind.

new switch

along with many other new parts. I have all receipts. All of the above done with-in the last few months.

This would be a great car to tour in or just go for a Sunday drive in smart fashion, fun to open the hood and show off the carb and headers!!

It is for sale in the 48 States only, no warranties except the engine builder has told me he would stand behind the engine for an amount of time to be certain it has no problems which it doesn't.

Along with the engine rebuild, the clutch, pressure plate, throw-out bearing and the pilot bearing were replaced. The transmission has been rebuilt and shifts like a dream, headlights, tail-lights

and brake lights work, fuel gauge works fine, just a great little car. I am getting to old to get into and out of this car as I am 6-3 and 245lbs. The price is somewhat negotiable thanks for looking!

Ford Fusion and Fusion Hybrid nab five-star ratings from NHTSA

Thu, 24 Jan 2013

Ford's Fusion and Fusion Hybrid have both received the highest five-star overall safety rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. The rating is a big upgrade for the Fusion, which was completely redesigned for 2013. The previous model fell one star short of the top rating, after scoring only three stars in the frontal crash test and four stars in the side crash test and rollover evaluations. The 2013 Fusion received four stars in side crash and rollover testing and a full five stars in the front crash test.
Test results for the 2013 Fusion and Fusion Hybrid were greatly improved at least in part due to Ford's Personal Safety System. The system utilizes smarter sensors to gather crash data and tailor the car's restraint systems to the occupants. Seatbelt usage and seat position are taken into account to ensure airbags deploy with less pressure for smaller drivers, more for larger drivers.
The 2013 Fusion twins also received the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety Top Safety Pick+ designation. Read the official press release below.

XCAR stages epic drag race between Ford GT40, GT70 and GT

Mon, 19 Aug 2013

XCAR has put together what it believes is a first - a drag race between Ford's legendary, Le Mans-winning GT40, the more recent GT supercar it inspired and the little-known GT70 rally car. The three mid-engined monsters were all built for very different purposes, and not surprisingly, they come to battle with very different powertrains.
The GT40 is powered by a thumping, naturally aspirated V8. This example, which looks like a Mark IV model, is likely powered by a 7.0-liter engine, although it's not entirely clear how much power it's putting down. The GT70, meanwhile, was Ford's response to the Lancia Stratos. Considering that the Lancia is one of the greatest rally cars in history and many of you are probably just hearing of the GT70 for the first time, you can imagine how much success Ford had with it. Only six were produced before a change in regulations doomed this mid-engined rally car.
The Ford GT, meanwhile, doesn't really need an introduction. 550 horsepower is on offer from a 5.4-liter, supercharged V8, which keeps the GT competitive even against more modern supercars. 60 miles per hour arrives in well under four seconds while the top speed sits at 212 mph. Not bad for a car that went out of production in 2006.

Ford S-Max Concept proves minivans aren't always minivans [w/video]

Tue, 10 Sep 2013

Ford's latest don't-call-it-a-minivan is called the S-Max Concept, and it's a looker. As you can see, the conceptual overgrown hatch makes good use of Ford's latest design language, especially at the very front of the S-Max, which bears a striking resemblance to production models that include the Focus, C-Max and Fusion.
Powering the S-Max Concept is a 1.5-liter EcoBoost engine, and while Ford doesn't actually list power figures for the concept, previous estimates put the mill at 133 kW of power (about 178 horsepower) and 240 Nm of torque (about 177 pound-feet). Inside, there's room for seven passengers and at least some of their luggage.
As you'd expect, the S-Max is loaded up with all of Ford's latest infotainment technology, including Sync and MyFordTouch. More interestingly, there are also onboard heart and blood glucose monitors that we doubt will be seeing the light of production anytime soon. On that topic, don't expect to see any S-Max-shaped vehicles hitting the US market from Ford, either. Scroll down below for the press release, but not before checking out the high-res image gallery above.
