I am selling my 1930 Ford Model A Doodlebug. This is built on a Ford Model AA frame with AA rear axle. This is not a restored 1930 Model A. So please do your homework on the term "Doodlebug". It has fenders, headlight housings, splash aprons, custom made 2 x 12 pine running boards with custom brackets, custom made windshield and windshield housings and brackets. The main seal leaks a little oil and the transmission needs a little attention. It does shift a little rough!! This ole truck runs decent and starts every time I start it. I just recently installed a new 3 row 5 1/2 fins per inch radiator from Bratton's Antique Auto. When I bought this truck form a friend, the frame was shortened. My machinist and I stretched it 4 ft and made the axle shaft longer. This old truck will start and drive around. The steering is a little rough. I have learned to appreciate power steering. HAHA The truck had/has no rear suspension. The front end needs bushings. It does leak a little oil out of the main. The roof was custom made out of a road sign and the frame which it sits on, was custom made and fabricated to fit the roof. The doodlebug is a lot of fun to drive around the farm and to take to antique steam engine shows. It does have a flat rough cut oak bed on it. All in all this is a fun ride, but its time to move on and pay bills... I hope you enjoy this truck as much as I have. I am asking $4000 for it OBO. The price is negotiable but I promise you wont find one for this cheap. If you have any questions please feel free to call 1-540-729-8317 or send me a message. This item is local pick up only!!

Truckmakers squabbling over who can sell Jimmy Fallon a pickup

Sat, 08 Mar 2014

Snagging a celebrity endorsement is a big deal for automakers, as evidenced by the recent efforts of the Detroit Three to try and woo The Tonight Show's newest host, Jimmy Fallon, into one of their trucks.
After announcing during Wednesday night's show that he was in the market for a pickup truck, Fallon set off a firestorm of efforts on Twitter, with both Ford and Chevrolet petitioning the funnyman to test out a truck. According to Ad Age, Ford recommended the King Ranch edition of its next-generation F-150 while the show was still airing. Chevy, meanwhile, waited until the next morning to pitch a Silverado to Fallon.
The winner of this social media feeding frenzy, though, was Ram. Promoting a variation of its "Guts, Glory, Ram" tagline, the Auburn Hills-based manufacturer created the hashtag #GUTSGLORYFallon. It even went so far as to park a Ram 1500 outside 30 Rockefeller Center in New York, where The Tonight Show is filmed. On the back of the Ram sat a sign, reading "Big enough, Jimmy? Test it out," referencing a joke from the Wednesday show.

Hennessey Ford GT sets 267.6-MPH record at Texas Mile [w/videos]

Mon, 25 Mar 2013

The record-setting Hennessey-powered camouflage Ford GT we showed you at this time last year headed back to the Texas Mile and managed to bring home yet another record. As you may recollect, last year saw Mark Heidraker's machine sprint to a record 257.7 mph thanks to propulsion from its twin-turbo 5.7-liter V8. The big mill sucks down race gas, and this year the creation pulled off a 267.6-mph run over the weekend. That feat set a new record for the event. Something tells us neither Heidraker nor Hennessey are done squeezing more thrust from this machine.
This particular Ford GT has already gone through a number of permutations. Hennessey started by tweaking the factory supercharger set up before abandoning the blower in favor of two turbos. Since then, the crew has poked and prodded it to coerce as much grunt as possible out of the car. We expect Hennessey will probably come out with a video of the record-setting run shortly, but in the meantime, you can see a couple of videos of the car's runs in Texas below (one of which actually captures the record run). Enjoy.

Watch this Ford F-150 SVT Raptor fly like an eagle [UPDATE]

Mon, 04 Feb 2013

The Ford F-150 SVT Raptor is a very capable truck right out of the box, but "capable" has never translated into "invincible." Just ask the owner of the machine in this video. In it, the driver gets frisky with an aggressive jump with plenty of speed on his hands. The result is enough air to make Vaughn Gittin Jr. blush. As always, it's not the launch that's painful, but the re-entry. Gravity eventually asserts its dominance over the $43,630 pickup in a big way, and when it comes crashing down, it does so with a vengeance.
The impact was hard enough to set off both the alarm and multiple airbags inside the cabin. It's unclear if anyone was injured in the stunt, but we certainly wouldn't be surprised to hear that was the case. You can check out the stunt in the video below, and remember, when in doubt, back out of the throttle. Be warned, there may be some explicit/NSFW language in the clip.
UPDATE: Second video added with an even better look at the jump added below.
