Ford Roadster 1929 Hot Rod Pro Street Rat Rod Street Rod on 2040-cars
Ranger, Texas, United States
1929 Ford Roadster. 350 Chevrolet, 350 auto transmission, gray leather interior, fiberglass body, new custom frame, steel wheels, new tires, disc brakes front and rear, rack and pinion steering, chrome tilt wheel, extra interior material left over from the fresh build in the trunk. New battery located in the trunk. New reproduction plastic gas tank, new dual exhaust, and chrome floor shift. I bought this car a couple years ago from the original builder and have stored it in an enclosed race car trailer. I have only driven the car in a few parades, so it is still used very little. I listed the car with a clear title, but the car DOES NOT HAVE A TITLE. I had to put something in the listing, but it come with a Bill of Sale only, so do not expect a title with the car. Check your state's laws etc. on how to apply for a title. I just didn't take the time to apply for one. This is a ground up from scratch build with all new parts, frame, body, rack and pinion steering, etc. It was not built with junk parts and looks and drives great. The car is being sold AS IS with no warranty either written or expressed. You are welcome to come view the car in person, test drive it, kick the tires, crawl in it under it and then bid to own. The car runs and drives as it should, lights, turn signals, oil pressure gauge and water temp gauges all work. The speedometer shows only 11 miles since built, but the odometer and speedometer register slower than you are actually going, so it will need a different plastic gear on the cable running into the transmission. Fuel gauge and horn does not work. The horn was working, so it has to be a simple fix. The car is being sold locallyalso, so I will end the bidding if sold here, but once the reserve has been met on Ebay, it will sell on eBay. There is NO top. It is roadster and does not have any type of top at all. Both doors are functional and open and close easily. I am 5'10", weigh 210 lbs. and fit fine. There is room enough for two people and maybe one small child in the center. Bid to own and good luck. Ask any question you would like and I will answer. Shipping in the responsibility of the buyer. |

Ford Escort returns, just not for US
Sat, 19 Apr 2014Ford is set to give the burgeoning Chinese market its very own C-segment model, while also reviving one of the brand's more notable nameplates. The new Escort, which will make its world debut at the 2014 Beijing Motor Show will be built in the People's Republic at the Changan Ford joint venture facility.
The Escort's exterior is best thought of as a mix of the finer points from the US market Focus and Fusion, with the Aston Martin-ish grille and narrow, wraparound taillights presenting a clean look at either end of the car. It's all fairly true to the concept car from last year's Shanghai Motor Show. That said, this exterior job is almost too clean. There doesn't seem to be a lot of character or substance beyond the typical Ford looks.
There's a similar issue in the cabin - it all looks pretty nice, but the design is rather plain, particularly when viewed alongside the display-filled cabin of a US-spec car. Still, there looks to be a fair amount of space in both the front and back seats, and the trunk isn't exactly tiny, either.
Ford recalling 370,000 Crown Vic, Grand Marquis and Town Car models
Fri, 30 Aug 2013The Detroit News is reporting that Ford will recall some 370,000 Crown Victoria (pictured), Mercury Grand Marquis and Lincoln Town Car vehicles from model years 2005 through 2011, for an issue regarding the lower intermediate steering shaft. 355,000 of the vehicles in question were sold in the US, with the other 15,000 sold in Canada.
The report indicates that corrosion of the lower intermediate steering shaft could cause a "loss of steering," presumably because of a partial or complete failure of the part. The report points out the dealers will inspect and replace the offending steering component for recalled cars, and may also secure a lower steering column bearing and replace the upper intermediate steering shaft as needed. The company is unaware of any reports of the faulty part causing any accidents or injuries.
Ford helpfully lists states in which corrosion is more likely to have taken place, mostly in the Snow Belt, as you might guess. Connecticut, Delaware, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, Virginia, Wisconsin, West Virginia, and the District of Columbia are listed.
The 11 most expensive American cars ever
Tue, 12 Aug 2014Here's a Pro Tip for all you would-be classic car investors out there: buy Ferraris. With the Pebble Beach festivities kicking off this week, including any number high end car auctions, we thought it would be entertaining to compile a list of some to the most expensive cars ever sold with the bang of a gavel. Trouble is, once you get past the splendor of everyone's favorite Italian sports car maker, that list is pretty boring.
Ferrari dominates the all-time auction sales list; seven of the top ten most expensive cars sold wear the Cavallino Rampante badge, as well as more than half of the top fifty. Sure, a nearly $30-million Mercedes-Benz W196 racecar might be the new top dog as of last year, but it's even possible that Ferrari could take that title back in Monterey this weekend. Long story short: we think a list of the most expensive American cars ever sold at auction is a lot more entertaining to read. Hell, our list has a friggin' Batmobile on it, how can it go wrong?
Follow on below for the top ten cars that are red, white, blue and a whole lot of green.
