This is a 1931 Ford Model A Victoria.  It is one of the rarest and most desirable of the Model A's.

In total Model A production of 4,320,446 cars, 33,906 were 1931 Victoria's, -.78% (less than 1%) of all Model A,s made.

This car is an original, largely untouched, vehicle,  It is in reasonable condition, not being a "rust bucket"

Comments:

---Radiator - original, (rare) looks decent

---Radiator shield - very nice original

---Headlights - very decent, no reflectors

---Tail light - none

---Motor - the one in the car is stuck

---Extra motor - complete and decent - extra manifold to replace the one on the motor which is welded.

This is the motor that I took the VIN number from - it was hard to see, so it may not be perfect.

---Bumpers - both front and back are present.

---Seats - 3 seat frames are present, no springs as it is better to purchase new ones.

---Rear Fenders - both are decent with hidden weld underneath, not visible on top.

One has a hole where the tail light would fasten.

---Front Fenders - one with no weld, but some cracks near area of running boards.

One with a 4" crack thru the bead.

---Hood - very nice, no weld, all handles and parts present.

---Gas tank -- looks good and solid

---Windshield frame - looks good.

---Doors - one has a dent and is solid

One has no dent, but rust  out on bottom.

---Cowl - solid with rust out on bottoms of both sides.

---Areas under rear fenders - no rust out - typically there is rust out here.

---Floor - metal looks decent

         - wood on one side looks decent, one side needs replacing.

         - wood on sides,  look decent

         -  wood around top - needs replacing.

----Top metal - one side and back have holes or rust out.

----rims - nice

---Title - THERE IS NO TITLE BUT I HAD TO PUT SOMETHING IN

THAT REQUIRED AREA TO SATISFY EBAY.- there was not

              a "no title" option available.

This is a decent car to restore or rod, and when done, you will not find  many (or any) cars as rare as this one.

USPS releases hot rod stamps to speed up your delivery

Sun, 08 Jun 2014

After one of the worst winters in recent memory for much of the country, summer is finally here. It's time to drop the top, open the sunroof or at least put down the windows and take a long drive. The United States Postal Service is celebrating the season's sun in automotive style with two new hot rod Forever stamps.
Both stamps depict classic '32 Ford hot rods. One shows the car from the front at a low angle in red (pictured above), while the other depicts the car from the back in black with flames running down the side.
To introduce the new stamps on their first day of availability, the USPS went straight to the source at the National Street Rod Association Street Rod Nationals in York, PA. They were unveiled by Postmaster General Patrick Donahoe, Car Crazy host Barry Meguiar and NSRA Special Events Director Jerry Kennedy.

Hurricane Sandy cost automakers 15,000 vehicles, may have ruined up to 200k

Wed, 07 Nov 2012

Hurricane Sandy was the largest Atlantic storm in US history, and its total economic impact is just now coming into view. According to Automotive News, Toyota, Chrysler, Nissan and Honda are set to scrap around 15,000 new vehicles ruined by the storm. Nissan alone accounts for about 40 percent of those, with 6,000 Nissan and Infiniti models deeded "un-saleable" due to damage. The company saw 56 dealerships shuttered due to the storm, but 51 of those have since reopened.
Toyota, meanwhile, had some 4,000 vehicles at its Newark port facility, and of those, 3,000 may be scrapped. An additional 825 were dealer inventory when they were ruined. Honda and Acura dealers are reportedly sending 3,440 vehicles to the salvage yard. By comparison, Chrysler weathered the storm fairly well with 825 units destroyed, while Hyundai suffered only 400 lost units and Kia scrapped around 200.
As you may recall, Fisker also suffered some losses, and Automotive News reports the manufacturer saw 320 Karma models damaged beyond repair. Ford and General Motors have yet to come up with estimates, and no automaker has commented on the full cost of replacing the vehicles.

MyFord Touch getting buttons and knobs back to counter criticisms

Mon, 17 Jun 2013

Ford deserves credit for being a front-runner in offering advanced infotainment technology with its Sync and MyFord Touch systems, but continued consumer complaints over its confusing touchscreen interface and capacitive controls has made the automaker relent. The Wall Street Journal reports that physical buttons and knobs for controlling tuning and volume will be coming back to Ford vehicles equipped with the controversial infotainment system.
The 2013 F-150 with MyFord Touch gives us a glimpse of what the new layout with buttons and knobs might look like, as Ford says a similar balance of touch screen capability and buttons/knobs are what's being planned for future models. And, while capacitive controls have no fans in the halls of Autoblog, many of Ford's models with MyFord Touch do have a large physical knob for adjusting volume with integrated buttons for tuning and advancing tracks, though most of those are models with the optional upgraded Sony Audio system. Lincoln models with MyLincoln Touch, however, feature only capacitive controls for all stereo and climate functions.
Despite receiving enough complaints to throw buttons and knobs back into the mix (a move that reminds us of BMW's iDrive trajectory, among others), Ford reports that Sync and MyFord Touch have still been sold on 79 percent of its 2013 model year vehicles, a number it claims is double the rate that Honda and Toyota are getting for their infotainment systems. Ford also states that owners who do opt for the duo of technologies are more satisfied with overall vehicle quality than those who don't have it.
