Clearing the Garage out
Up For Sale is a 1929 Model A Rat Rod car
It isnt a Boyd Cottington example by far, but if you are looking fo a fun little summer machine to scoot around town in this might be the one for you.
It is powered by a Chevy 305 V-8, the engine has had some mild perfomance work done to it and it really runs good.
This car is ver light and when you stomp on the gas the front end will come off the ground, I don't thin k the car will break the sound barrier, but it is kind of a neat trick at the Saturday night "50's" street rod gatherings, if anything.
It has a 400 Automatic transmission with over drive which operate flawless.
Ford 9 inch rear end
All the lights and horn work too.
It has a 5 gallon fuel tank, so stay close to gas stations.
It is a fair car, it is not perfect, but it is just fine for a "RAT ROD" the body work could of been a bit better, but it is what it is.
The carb could use some fine tuning, as it has been sitting and may have some old fuel too, but it is fine.
I have never, ever drove this car on the highway, but if I was going to I would probably have the alignment checked.
It is a fun Saturday night Cruiser, perfect for a fun family type of gathering with folks who enjoy the same thing.
It has been to a few car shows for fun and it always draws the old school crowed, I have to say that I have a 100 point 57 Belair and the crowd that this car draws is a lot more fun than the crowd the Belair draws :)
Please feel free to ask questions, it is best to reach me by phone at 785-410-7615 my name is Chad
We will store the car for a reasonable 4-5 weeks at no charge, please insure it once you bought it as I do live in Kansas and Tornados seem to be attracted to us.
Shipping world wide is possible, its expensive at an average of $3400
I think I am being pretty fair on the price and believe it is bellow market value, but I am open to offers as it needs a home other than mine now :)
Best of Luck

Ford Mustang was almost 'Imported from Detroit'
Wed, Oct 7 2015The Ford Mustang achieved iconic status nearly the moment the sheet came off at the 1964 World's Fair. And if Henry Ford II wasn't getting divorced around that time, the pony car might have been called the Torino and been marketed as 'Imported from Detroit,' according to Automotive News. We'll explain. During research for the new book Once in a Great City: A Detroit Story, author David Maraniss found an interesting connection between Chrysler's (now FCA US) slogan and the Ford Mustang. Before the pony car even had a name, the Blue Oval's advertising agency had the idea to market it as a "brand new import ... from Detroit," according to Automotive News. The vehicle would be sold as "inspired by Italy's great road cars, but straight from Detroit." The name Torino was suggested, as well. However, the real world interfered in making the Mustang Detroit's first import. According to the author, Henry Ford II was getting a divorce, and his future wife was Italian. It was therefore thought to be a bad idea to sell the future pony car as being from Italy. Things clearly changed by the time the Torino hit the streets years later. Related Video:
Automakers donating money, vehicles and supplies to Oklahoma tornado relief effort
Fri, 24 May 2013Judging by the destruction the Oklahoma City area experienced earlier this week, residents are going to need a lot of help in coming months. Fortunately, a number of automakers - including General Motors, Ford, Chrysler, Volkswagen, Honda and Toyota - have stepped up to donate money, supplies and vehicles to aid in the recovery and rebuilding processes.
Here's a quick rundown of which automakers have pitched in and what each contributed so far:
Ford Motor Company has donating $250,000 and a Transit Connect to the American Red Cross, and it will match all other donations made to the Red Cross (up to $250,000) using a special URL tied to the latter's website (link here). Additionally, its local Oklahoma dealers have thrown in an extra $150,000 for the United Way and the automaker will be offering an extra $500 toward the purchase of a new Ford vehicle.
EPA says fuel economy test for hybrids is accurate
Mon, 26 Aug 2013
The EPA says it stands behind its fuel economy test for hybrid vehicles following controversy about the testing process after Ford C-Max Hybrid customers and automotive journalists alike struggled to achieve 47 miles per gallon, the advertised mpg number, Automotive News reports. Ford responded to the issue almost two weeks ago by claiming that a 1970s-era EPA general label rule was responsible for the inaccurate mileage numbers, rerating the C-Max Hybrid's mpg numbers and offering customers rebates. Ford later said it didn't overstate the C-Max Hybrid's fuel economy and that it was surprised by the low numbers.
Ford technically didn't do anything wrong because it was following the general label rule, but agency regulator Christopher Grundler says the automaker was exploiting a loophole when it came up with the hybrid C-Max numbers, and that the testing process remains accurate. The general label rule allows vehicles that use the same engine and transmission and are in the same weight class to share fuel economy numbers, but it doesn't take into account other factors such as aerodynamic efficiency, which affects hybrids more drastically than non-hybrid vehicles. Ford originally used the Fusion Hybrid economy figures for the C-Max Hybrid and claimed the engineers didn't realize that its aerodynamic efficiency would affect fuel economy as much as it did.
