This A was a Coupe at birth. Some where along the line some one cut the trunk off and made it a wooden bed pick-up. I found it at a private collection/museum setting at true 1930's gas station (building ,pumps,  oil the whole 9 yards). It now has the Frame boxed and extended and Metal bed on it.        The front axle is a 30's Ford V/8 ,   New disc brakes, Spindles, Calipers, etc.   New Shocks all around, New springs. New Master brake cylinder.  New vega   steering gear. New Locar shifter.   New gauges. New Dual exhaust,   new headers,    New Glass packs   New tail pipes  New Breather.  The 9" rear end has been shortened and fits right (Don't know what the gear ratio is).  New mirrors,   New Cowl lights,  New side mount antenna,   New Radiator,  New radiator rock guard,  New  1 wire alternator New tranny cooler.  Have (used)  the full 4 piece hood and an extra set of fenders front and rear. Tilt Steering. My neighbor is 6' 4" and is comfortable behind the wheel.  The tires and rims all match (But) there is some rust forming in the chrome and the tires are dry rotting. There is New rear glass and gasket, new both side glasses and gaskets.  Very nice used original window trim garnish for these also.        For any Questions, or concerns, or showings  Email or Call 317-508-1605.  The buyer is responsible for any shipping arrangements and fees.  Zip 46060 We will help all as necessary. I can store for an agreed upon amount of time as long as the vehicle is paid in full and all funds has cleared the bank. 18 wheelers can load    here too.  Any over seas buyers Must do all of the shipping arrangements (I have worked with over seas shippers before and generally it takes time).  The Title is clear and in my name.                   My Priorities have changed since having this truck built last year  (Both age and health wise).  Time to sell my toys.                  P.S. my  mechanic stopped in today and said the thermostat housing needs resealed To stop the water leak and the cooling fan blade is not big enough, ( Should put a push or pull electric fan on), this  radiator is rated to cool a 550 H.P. engine.     Thanks

Ford recalls select Explorer, E-Series vans

Tue, 21 Jan 2014

Just a few days ago we brought you news that Ford had issued a recall on 28,000 units of the Edge crossover for problems related to the fuel line. But now the Blue Oval has issued recall notices on two more of its larger vehicles.
The first relates to the Explorer, 395 examples of which from the 2011 and 2012 model years were found to have problems with their steering systems if they underwent service after September 1, 2013. An apparent software glitch could lock the steering gear, preventing the driver from steering the vehicle and thereby increasing the risk of a crash. As a result, Ford dealers are being instructed to check their records to identify the problematic vehicles and bring them in to have the steering gear replaced. Details of the recall can be found in the PDF linked here.
The second problem revolves around E-Series vans that may develop bubbles in their windshields under hot temperatures. The decrease in visibility through the problematic windshield could - you guessed it - "increase the risk of a crash." As a result, Ford is calling in 4,532 units of the E-150, E-250, E-350 and E-450 vans built in the relatively short window between May 12 and May 26, 2011. Details of this recall can be found in the notice below from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

2013 Ford C-Max Hybrid

No Prius Killer
As much as we enthusiasts like to rail on the lowly Toyota Prius as the harbinger of death for all we hold dear, there's no denying the machine's absolute and interminable grip on the hybrid hatchback market in the United States. Toyota has so thoroughly sunk its teeth into the segment that you can clearly hear the automaker's incisors clacking against one another with the conclusion of each financial quarter. And there's little wonder why. Buyers can plop down less than $25,000 and have a runabout that can return up to an estimated 51 miles per gallon in the city, leaving every other entry on the market with precious little gristle to gnaw on.
Enter the 2013 Ford C-Max Hybrid. With its claimed 47 mpg combined, the funky little hatch from Europe already falls behind the 48 mpg city offered by the Prius, but that marginal sacrifice in fuel economy could be a small price to pay for buyers who want a credible alternative to the stalwart Toyota. Unfortunately, like the Fusion Hybrid, the C-Max Hybrid had trouble even approaching its Environmental Protection Agency estimates during our time with the car.

2016 Ford Taurus to ride atop reworked Fusion platform

Wed, 19 Mar 2014

Generally, cars get bigger and heavier as they get older. That's why it looks so ridiculous when you park a classic Mini next to a modern version. The same can be said of the Corvette, the BMW 3 Series, Porsche 911 and, of course, the Ford Taurus. In the Taurus' case, though, that size has become a liability, particularly because the big brute isn't nearly as sizable on the inside as it is on the out.
For 2016, Ford is aiming to rectify that. According to Edmunds, the 2016 Taurus will ride on a stretched and widened Ford Fusion platform. Ford is expecting this move to go a long way in trimming the Taurus' ample body fat.
"The problem with today's Taurus is that it is overweight and even the high performance SHO is not really competitive," said a source that spoke to Edmunds on condition of anonymity. The 365-horsepower SHO variant, "actually weighs about as much as the stretched Audi A8 L. Of course, Audi uses an extensive amount of aluminum, but it is a much bigger car."
