this little coupe will make someone a great builder, the bodys in good shape with all patch panels tacked in including - cowl patches, quarter patches, corner patches, wheel wells, rear section below trunk and rear cross member, its got a steal roof that looks to have been put in long ago but is very workable, the wooden inside roof structures in good shape, it has a fiberglass 32 grill shell and fiberglass trunk lid, the frame is very well built and is zeed up about 8" in rear and 3" in front which gives it a low stance and at this point the body can go down even lower on the frame !, its got a mustang II front suspention with rack & pinion steering and a 10-bolt chevy rearend with 373 gears thats installed with a strong ladder bar system, motor was a dirt track runner and I couldnt get it to start so motor/trans will be considered rebuilders but should have some good parts inside !, drivshaft is installed, also theres a new 3-core aluminum radiator, a new master cylinder, new zoomie headers, nice polished wheels/tires that should clean right up, very neat set of bomber style seats and a B&M shifter, all floor structure is mocked up along with firewall, doors were in great shape, theres a few small fixes left but all major stuff is done, comes with a windshield/frame but it is rusty, body is tacked to frame and ready for transport, this is a project and is in the mocked up / tacked up stage, car has a clear and up to date title in my name and is titled as a 1931 coupe, please look at all pictures and ask any and all questions before bidding/buying, $500 due at emmidiate auction end thru paypal and remainder withen 48hrs, I reserve the right to end auction at anytime, Ive sold several on here, all with happy customers, your welcome to check out my 100% feedback, someone will get a good one !         918-868-7394

Hennessey Ford GT sets 267.6-MPH record at Texas Mile [w/videos]

Mon, 25 Mar 2013

The record-setting Hennessey-powered camouflage Ford GT we showed you at this time last year headed back to the Texas Mile and managed to bring home yet another record. As you may recollect, last year saw Mark Heidraker's machine sprint to a record 257.7 mph thanks to propulsion from its twin-turbo 5.7-liter V8. The big mill sucks down race gas, and this year the creation pulled off a 267.6-mph run over the weekend. That feat set a new record for the event. Something tells us neither Heidraker nor Hennessey are done squeezing more thrust from this machine.
This particular Ford GT has already gone through a number of permutations. Hennessey started by tweaking the factory supercharger set up before abandoning the blower in favor of two turbos. Since then, the crew has poked and prodded it to coerce as much grunt as possible out of the car. We expect Hennessey will probably come out with a video of the record-setting run shortly, but in the meantime, you can see a couple of videos of the car's runs in Texas below (one of which actually captures the record run). Enjoy.

How the 2015 Ford Mustang will save your knees

Sat, 21 Jun 2014

The 2015 Mustang is one of the most hotly anticipated vehicles of the moment, and Ford continues to leak out interesting little details about its newest pony car. The latest info doesn't have anything to do with its quarter-mile time or handling, but if any of that goes drastically wrong, the innovative new glovebox-mounted airbag may prevent passengers from knee injuries.
All variants of the 2015 Mustang get the active knee airbag as standard, and it's the first vehicle in Ford's lineup to receive the system. The setup is actually quite simple and ingenious. The glovebox is made from a plastic outer panel that is attached to the inner door. Sandwiched between them is this new injection-molded plastic bladder that folds flat when in use. If the passenger-side airbag deploys, the system springs into action to act as a cushion for your knees. Compared to a traditional knee airbag that has to fully inflate, this arrangement is 65 percent lighter and can use a 75 percent smaller inflator. It's also basically invisible when you look at the glovebox door.
Ford spokesperson Ed Saenz declined to tell Autoblog whether the system will appear in other vehicles in the Blue Oval's lineup but said, "We're considering other applications." Provided it's effective, the approach seems too simple not to make its way to other products. Scroll down to watch a video showing how the glovebox-mounted knee airbag works.

'84 MotorWeek Cherokee, Bronco and Blazer comparison indulges your SUV nostalgia

Fri, Jan 16 2015

These days, truck-based, full-frame SUVs are somewhat of a rarity on the auto landscape due to the rapid rise in popularity of easier-driving, car-based crossovers. Although, without the gradually building popularity of these chunky, high-riding vehicles decades ago, it's unlikely that America's roads would be filled with so many CUVs today. In its latest dig into the archives, MotorWeek has found a 1984 comparison test of a trio of these early Sport Utility Wagons, as long-time host John Davis called them, that helped get acceptance of this segment going. This is a red, white and blue test of the SUVs from American automakers at the time and pits the Chevrolet Blazer, Ford Bronco and Jeep Cherokee (specifically in Wagoneer guise) against each other. Driving manners and interior usability are considered in the evaluation, but Motorweek actually takes these vehicles off road, too. Among the bigger revelations is the improvement in on-road ability in the past 30 years. While specific 0-60 times aren't given, all three models take around 10 seconds just to get to around 50 miles per hour in the 500-feet on-ramp acceleration test. Check out this clip to see just how far this segment has progressed in the past three decades or just get a blast of nostalgia from these now vintage models.
