You are looking at one of the cleanest built "Rat" Rods that you will ever see - I consider it more of a Street Rod than a Rat Rod. All steel body - NO rust. This truck gets more looks and attention than any other car on the road when I am running down the interstate. It has always been keep in a climate controlled garage, and has never seen the rain. I am in the process of moving, and while I don't want to sell it, the new house needs some work before we move in.

Here is the run down:
- 1959 Corvette 'Power Pack' 283 with an Edelbrock Performer Intake with a new Holley 8105B 600cfm carb
- MSD 6A Ignition with a Flamethrower distributer
- Syclone electric fan
- Custom fabric wrapped plug wires
- Offenhauser polished valve covers
- Polished shotgun air intake with washable filter element
- Hidden MSD Blaster coil inside of an original Ford coil box
- Holley mechanical fuel pump
- SW electric gauge cluster (volts, temp, pressure)
- Push button start with an external battery cut-off key
- Sanderson ceramic coated exhaust with interior baffles installed

- 3 speed automatic transmission with kick down
- Lokar shifter and pedals
- Tilt steering wheel
- Carrera front stocks and rear coil overs
- Corvair steering box
- 10 bolt rear end
- Ansen 5 spoke Magnesium Top Eliminator wheels with new radial fronts and new M/T Street & Strip Slicks 315/60

- Chopped 6" and channeled 3"
- Farmall H grill
- Brass air horn
- Copper leafed scallops
- Lantern style taillights
- Canteen radiator catch tank
- Safari style flip-out windshield
- Custom aluminum fuel cell in the rear

There was a ton of attention paid to the details in building this car - too much to list here. This is a show stopper and has won awards at every show it has been to for the last 3 years. If you don't want attention everywhere you go, than this is NOT the car for you.

I have had an amazing time with this car, but it is time for some one else to enjoy it as much as I have.

Chip Foose tastefully enhances his personal Ford GT

Wed, 05 Nov 2014

Typically, we'd expect a vehicle from 2006 to fall well short of a more modern vehicle, both in terms of performance and style. Of course, the Ford GT is not your average offering from the Bush era. That's doubly true when the 2006 GT in question belongs to one Chip Foose.
Purchased by his wife as a 50th birthday present, Foose is showing his custom, personalized GT at the 2014 SEMA Show. The 5.4-liter supercharged V8 breathes a bit easier thanks to a full Magnaflow Performance exhaust, but Foose's GT isn't all about the performance.
Instead, the car customizer extraordinaire has focused on tasteful aesthetic enhancement, tweaking the rear end by removing the bumper and trimming the frame extensions. The wheels, meanwhile, are one-off aluminum alloys, designed by Foose himself. Like the stripes, the wheels feature orange accenting.

Saleen SA-30 Mustang, Camaro and Challenger help celebrate the big 3-0

Fri, 22 Nov 2013

After 30 years of tuning performance cars and building racecars, Saleen is celebrating its racing heritage with a limited-production car line called SA-30. Based on the Ford Mustang, Chevrolet Camaro and Dodge Challenger, Saleen will only build 10 of each SA-30 model at a base price of $95,000.
For that money, buyers will get upgraded suspension, brakes and engines, and while the power figures have not been released for the SA-30 620 Camaro and SA-30570 Challenger models, the SA-30 302 Mustang will be the top performer with 625 horsepower. Each car will be painted up in a custom pearl white hue with black and yellow accents, and get white wheels shrouding yellow powder-coated brake calipers. Inside, the SA-30 offerings will all get a proper Saleen interior with black leather and white Alcantara on the seats, along with the expected smattering of SA-30 badges.
On all three SA-30 models, customers will have various options available to further customize their cars, including a rear-seat delete option that transforms each car's cabin into a race-inspired interior with a chassis-strengthening rear cross brace. Perhaps the coolest feature of all, though, is the Saleen Frost-Touch Glass that is an option on the SA-30 302 Mustang. Similar to the Mercedes Sky Control roof first introduced on the Mercedes SLK, the Saleen Frost-Touch Glass allows the Mustang's optional glass roof and rear window to be switched from transparent to opaque at the push of a button.

BMW V8-powered Ford Model A is the definition of Hot Rod

Thu, 20 Jun 2013

Today, hotrodding has a pretty staid definition. Take one classic American car, add one classic American V8, sprinkle with tire smoke and you pretty much have every hot rod to roll out of a shop in the last 40 years. Mike Borroughs knows it wasn't always this way. Once upon a time, getting your bucket to go faster meant grabbing whatever parts were lazing about the yard, bolting them together with a bit of ingenuity and laughing your way down the quarter mile. It's in that spirit that Burroughs built his 1928 Ford Model A.
Rather than turn to the tired flathead or the common Chevrolet small block, Burroughs plucked a 4.0-liter V8 from a 1995 BMW 7 Series. With 300 horsepower and 300 pound-feet of torque, the engine has no trouble shuffling the old A around town. He had to build a custom chassis to get everything to cooperate, but the result is a 1,500-pound heathen that looks built to harass dry lake beds. You can check it out in the video below. Be warned, the soundtrack by Hanni el Khatib may not be safe for work - awesomeness of this caliber rarely is.
