1929 Ford Model A Tudor  *** NO RESERVE***

On Apr-19-14 at 07:14:25 PDT, seller added the following information:

Check out YOUTUBE for videos I made in haste for a previous sell opportunity last summer. Keyword search 'Bonnie Black Beauty' Car is in identical shape driven about a dozen time arond my subdivision and to the local gas station.

A recent inquiry directed to my personal email...

In the video, it sounded like it may be running a little rough going down the hill.

That is engine brake. It is not rough at all. If I had it out of gear, I would have been riding the brakes (trying to make them last)

Is there a miss or any problems with the engine or transmission?

None

Does the engine smoke or use oil?

No

Has the engine, transmission, or rear end  been rebuilt?

I believe the trans was rebuilt by Dsuban. He built it. I could have you contact him.

Does it have any oil, water, transmission, fuel, or rearend leaks?

Minor Oil leak. But I know it is typical. It may need a head gasket in the future, but it is fine right now.

Has the radiator been re-cored or replaced?

New Radiator, but the 29 radiator has performance issues.

What are the condition of the brakes?

New, but need adjustment.

Is the steering tight?

It is fine for me. Not sure what is normal for this car.

What is the condition of the tires and wheels?

Excellent. Spare tire needs to be replaced however.

What is the condition of the body?

Almost perfectly free of rust, but the running boards need a undercoating.

Does it have any rust, paint chips, paint runs, bondo, ripples, or dents etc.?

Very few. I touched up small chips but really nice.  See some pictures taken during restoration.

Is the paint still shiny and fresh? (It was hard to tell much about it in the video)

I can make it really shine, but I have zero time to work much on it. I bought some 'Black Magic' polish to protect the current shine, but have yet to apply it.

What is the condition of the vinyl top?

I repaired some of it, it is in good condition.

What is the condition of the chrome/nickel parts?

Everything looks good to me. I would rate all as excellent.

Has the original glass been replaced with safety glass?
Original glass.  1929 was the first car produced with safety glass.

Is the glass in good condition?

Very good condition. No cracks I can see.

Do all of the windows roll up and down as they should?

Yep. Roll perfect.

Does the speedometer, fuel indicator, amp gauge, and wiper motor work as they should?
Yes on the speedometer, fuel gauge, amp meter. I don’t believe it has a wiper motor.

Has the wiring and electrical components been replaced?

Modern wiring. Not much wiring going on here though.

Is it still 6 volt or has it been converted to 12 volt?

Still 6 volt.

Do all of the lights work properly?

Yes.

Is it missing any body or interior parts?

Interior drivers-side back seat window trim is missing. I would include this missing piece given the car sells above 11k.

Distributor Modern?

Looks like original, but I believe the inner workings upgraded to more reliable components. Works like a charm! I replaced the coil wire that runs to the distributor plate, and points and condenser replaced.

What parts need to be replaced?

None.

When I take it out – people swoon over it. I love to share it. Kids love the Ahooga sound of the horn.  Harley motorcyclist , they love the purity and simplicity of it - they can relate to it as a common man's car that would have been most popular and common during the depression.  Most all  appreciate the fact I did not modify or enhance the look away from what most people bought or could afford in the depression. Memories of this car ring loud for the basic clean look.

Ford Fiesta becomes UK all-time best seller

Thu, 24 Jul 2014

We may regard Ford as an American automaker, but ask a Brit and they may tell you otherwise. The Blue Oval has, after all, been selling cars in the UK since 1903, and started manufacturing there as far back as 1911 when it began local production of the Model T in Manchester. Last year Ford ended 100 years of vehicle manufacturing in the UK when the last Transit van rolled off the assembly line in Southampton, but it's still the biggest-selling automotive marque in Britain.
Ford has led the British market for 34 out of the past 45 years, selling more Fiestas than any other company sells any other car in the UK since 2009... when it overtook the Focus. In fact the Fiesta has now become the best-selling car in British history, topping 4,115,000 units since its introduction in 1976. The previous record was held by - you guessed it - another Ford: the Escort sold 4,105,961 units over the course of its 32 years on the British market.
Although the Fiesta is no longer manufactured in the UK (previous versions having been built at Dagenham until 2002), engines are: the EcoBoost line was developed at the company's R&D center in Essex and are built at the factory in Dunton, while its diesel engines were developed at Dagenham in East London. Even the 1.6-liter EcoBoost engine in the Fiesta ST is built in South Wales.

New Ford Police Interceptor tech protects cops' backsides

Mon, 22 Jul 2013

It was only a matter of time before law enforcement agencies would realize the potential of driver-assist technology for use in their Ford Police Interceptors, and, now that they have, those back-up cameras and radar systems won't be used just for parking, but for security, as well.
The surveillance mode system works when the camera or radar detects movement from behind the vehicle, and if it does when it's activated, an alarm will alert the officer inside the car, the driver's side window will roll up and the doors will lock, protecting the officer from an unwanted intrusion. The officer, of course, has the option to turn surveillance mode off, mainly in urban areas where pedestrians would constantly set the alarm off, and it can only be activated when the police car is in park.
Randy Freiburger, Ford's police and ambulance fleet supervisor, came up with the patent-pending idea when researching the needs of police officers and riding along with them, during which time he realized officers would be safer with an extra set of eyes watching the area behind their cars, especially at night or when they're completing paperwork, using the in-car computer or handling a radar gun. "Unfortunately, there are people with bad intentions who sneak up on police officers," he says.

How Ford secretly used customers to test its aluminum F-150 [w/video]

Fri, 30 May 2014

Automakers getting clever about disguising development vehicles isn't anything new. Between mules wearing the sheetmetal of other cars and prototypes decked out in as much camouflage as is practical, automakers know how to make it very difficult for the general public to get an exact idea of what kind of vehicle is in development. Ford, though, is rapidly becoming the master.
We knew that the Blue Oval originally tested the durability of the aluminum construction being used for the 2015 F-150 by building an all-aluminum 2014 truck and entering it in the Baja 1000 off-road race. That's no longer a secret. What we didn't know, though, is that the aluminum development dates back to before even that, and that some of the people in question had no idea what it was they were working with.
Ford says this is the first time prototypes have ever been handed over to the public.
