1929 Ford Model A Pickup Roadster "hot Rod" "street Rod" All Steel Custom on 2040-cars
Jackson, Tennessee, United States
This is a recent newer build custom 1929 Model A Ford Roadster Pickup Truck with an all steel body and 32 Deuce grille. The truck's body resides over a boxed custom frame for a channeled lowboy appearance. All the undercarriage is painted and detailed to match the body with all high quality components and nothing skimped on. The Drivetrain is a 350 crate motor mated to a TH350 automatic turning a Ford 8". The motor has an Edelbrock intake and carb, High energy ignition system, Sanderson Lakester Headers with removable patented baffles that work very well. The car has presence but is not too loud with the baffles. The sound is very comfortable at cruising speeds and just right when accelerating. The aluminum radiator temperature stays at 180 and has a thermostat controlled electric fan. The interior is very well done with bomber seats and red to highlight the black body. All gauges are fully functional as well as turn signals, all lights and a 3 speed heater for chilly rides home from the local ice cream parlor.
The truck drives excellent, straight and true. The suspension works very well with coil overs and panard bar in the rear and a really well set up dropped front axel with disc brakes, chromed shocks, stabilizer and hair pins.
This truck is ready to show or drive and will draw a lot of attention wherever it goes. Shipping will be the responsibility of the buyer and I will assist in any way I can to make sure pickup goes without any issues. I utilized J.J. Best and the Bank of Bristol TN who holds the title to finance a portion of this truck which will be paid off and retrieved upon payment of balance. Check my feedback a be assured with several high dollar vehicle transactions. |

Ford Shelby GT350R sets 7:32.19 Nurburgring lap time
Mon, Jan 26 2015It was over a year ago that the Chevy Camaro Z/28 clocked a Nurburgring lap time of 7 minutes and 37.47 seconds, propelling itself up the leader boards as the fastest American muscle car to lap the infamous Nordschleife. But now word has it that another piece of Detroit iron has clocked an even faster time. According to Evo, the new Ford Shelby GT350R Mustang has lapped the Green Hell in a blitzkrieg 7:32.19. That's more than five seconds faster than the Z/28, and propels the GT350R into proper supercar territory: incrementally quicker than the Ferrari 458 Italia and in league with lap times posted by the Nissan GT-R (though not the fastest Godzilla has clocked over the years). With output quoted at "more than 500 horsepower and more than 400 lb-ft of torque," and no 0-60, quarter-mile or top end figures revealed to date, this marks the first genuine measure of performance we've seen for the track-focused pony car - though the numbers have yet to be officially confirmed. The GT350R packs a 5.2-liter V8 unburdened by 130 pounds of excess weight – helped along by carbon-fiber wheels coated in Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 rubber. Related Video:
Man turns Ford Fiesta into a one-car band
Mon, 18 Nov 2013The one-man band is a rather ridiculous idea, drawing up images of one person attempting to manipulate several instruments, at once, in a vain attempt at creating music. It's usually represented by silly scenes like this. Interestingly, the concept isn't much more successful when the "man" in "one-man band" is replaced with "car," as we see in this video.
It seems that someone rigged up and edited (699 times, we might add) a Ford Fiesta, a bucket, 12 PVC pipes and the natural sounds that a car makes to come up with a song. Now, we don't recognize the tune, so we've no idea if this is a cover or an original piece. And while it's hardly Beethoven, we have to admire the amount of effort the "conductor" went to in his attempt to turn a subcompact car into a musical instrument(s). Take a look (or listen) below for the entire video.
Ford builds Lightweight Concept with Fusion shell [w/video]
Wed, 04 Jun 2014It's a fairly well known fact that removing weight from a car is essentially a panacea for many of the modern automobiles problems. Does it handle like crap? Remove weight. Underpowered? Don't add power; trim the fat. Need to improve fuel economy? It's diet time.
Actually executing a major weight reduction program, though, much like with human beings, is no easy task. Unlike you or I, where motivation is the issue, the prohibitive measure in trimming a car's waistline is money. Lightweight materials are expensive, with carbon fiber and carbon-fiber reinforced plastic still primarily in the domain of higher end vehicles. Even aluminum construction, pioneered on a mass-produced level by Audi and Jaguar, is only now starting to make its way into the mainstream, thanks to the upcoming Ford F-150.
With this concept, though, Ford is attempting to show that a mass-produced, lightweight vehicle isn't too far off. This is the Lightweight Concept, and while it may look like a Fusion, it weighs as much as a Fiesta. For reference, the lightest Fusion available to the public is the 3,323-pound, 2.5-liter model with a manual transmission. A manually equipped, 1.6-liter Fiesta, meanwhile, is just 2,537 pounds.
