1929 Ford Model A Open Cab (Roadster) Pickup. Original Survivor Driver. We aquired this very good, clean, solid example of the 1929 Ford Model A Open Cab Pickup from a private collection here in Texas. When we got it back to the shop all we did was pulled the choke, set the throttle, turned the fuel petcock on & hit the starter foot pedal to fire the 201 CID L-head 4 cylinder engine to life. We drove it around for a short distance and it drives very well for an 84 year old Historic Vehicle, very solid & quietly shifting through the gears with the top down listening to the birds sing as we motored through the park ! This truck has been well cared for through the years spending most of its life indoors except for regular Sunday drives & occasional Parade duty (someone said Henry Ford called this color"St.Patrick's Day Parade Green",I don't know if I believe that though!).The under carriage is very clean & solid (see pics) with the normal road grime you would expect from a driver. The exterior is in very good, complete condition with a few nicks & chips having been resprayed at some point in its life(hard to find one that looks this good that hasn't),the windshield folds out smoothly as it should & the top bows are included however we did not receive the convertible top with it. There is a very nice & usable storage trunk in the bed that is clean & lockable and the wood slats for the bed are also very solid and well cared for.The interior is also in very good condition with recent upholstery on the seats, door & kick panels and a solid floor panel in place. There are are six good tires included & all the lights work as well. This 1929 Ford Model A pickup will be seen on an upcoming episode of the Hit Show Fast N Loud & the Winning Bidder will have the option of  taking delivery on the show! This is a very good, clean , solid Truck for cruising around in just as it is suitable for Promotional Advertising , Parade duty or a good start to a Classic Museum Quality Restoration. Clear Texas Title in hand. We sell Internationally as well as locally & will end the Auction when it sells. See all pics & ask any questions

1964 Ford GT40 prototype to be auctioned in April

Wed, 12 Mar 2014

The Ford GT40 owns a firm spot on the list of the greatest American racecars ever made, being the first car from the United States to take an overall win in the 24 Hours of Le Mans. And now Mecum will auction what it claims is second-oldest GT40 still in existence at its Houston sale on April 12.
The story of the GT40 is fascinating. Henry Ford II attempted to buy Ferrari in the early '60s, but Enzo refused. Ford decided if he couldn't have them, then he would beat the Prancing Horse on the track. Ford went to Carroll Shelby and asked him to spearhead the program. The early cars combined a steel monocoque chassis with Ford's 4.2-liter V8 engine pumping out around 350 horsepower. The first prototype made its public debuted on April 1, 1964, at the New York Auto Show.
Shelby kept building prototypes, including GT/104, which is for sale here. This version featured a lighter steel chassis and was raced at Le Mans in 1964. However, a fire forced it to retire. It was then repainted and had a 4.7-liter (289-cubic-inch) engine fitted. The chassis had its best finish at the 1965 Daytona Continental 2,000 Kilometers where it finished third with Bob Bondurant and Ritchie Ginther behind the wheel. Later that season, it was shipped back to Ford where it was restored and displayed at auto shows until 1971 when the automaker sold it. Since then, it has had many private owners.

Ford recalls over 680,000 Ford Fusions, Mondeos, and Lincoln MKZs for seat belt pretensioners

Fri, Dec 2 2016

Update: We spoke with a Ford representative who said that owners will be notified by mail during the week of January 16 . Dealers will also have the fix available at the same time. Owners can bring in their vehicles to dealers for an evaluation in the mean time. The main text has been updated to reflect this. The Basics: Ford is recalling 680,872 2013-2016 Ford Fusions, 2015-2016 Ford Mondeos, and 2013-2015 Lincoln MKZ s for an issue with front driver-side and passenger-side seat belt pretensioners. The Problem: The seat-belt pretensioners did not have sufficient insulation applied. When the pretensioners are activated, the heat generated can cause the cables connected to the belts to separate, which in turn can prevent the seat belts from effectively restraining the occupant. This can lead to injuries. Injuries/Deaths: Ford reports two accidents and two injuries have occurred that are related to this recall. The fix: A dealer technician will inject an insulation coating around the pretensioner. This should effectively keep the heat away from the cables, ensuring the seat belt will properly restrain the user in a collision. If you own one: Affected owners will be notified by mail on the week of January 16. Dealers will have the fix available that week, and owners will be able to bring in their vehicles for the fix to be implemented free of charge. Related Video:
