  I BELEIVE THIS TO BE A 1928 MODEL A SPEEDSTER .  IT WAS IN THE PROCESS OF A TOTAL MAKE OVER  BUT THE PERSON DOING THE WORK PASSED AWAY. I WAS TOLD THE MOTOR WAS GONE THROUGH AND THE CLUTCH AND THROW OUT BEARING WAS REPLACED.. LOOKS TO ME LIKE THE CARB WAS REDONE OR REPLACED THE POINTS AND ROTOR ARE NEW. NEW.   LOOKS LIKE ALL BUSHINGS ALL  IN THE LINKAGE HAS BEEN REPLACED. I BELEIVE EVERYTHING NEEDED  TO COMPLETE THIS CAR IS HERE EXCEPT THE SEATS, BATTERY WHICH IS A 6 VOLT SYSTEM. AND WIRING. AND MISC PARTS. I HAVE ALL THE HARDWARE TO FINISH THE BODY. I ALSO HAVE A LOT OF PARTS THAT WERE REPLACED. TIRES AND RIMS LOOK NEW. I DO HAVE THE WOODEN DASH AND MOST OF THE GUAGES THAT GO IN IT. I DIDNT INSTALL IT. IT WILL BE EASIER TO WORK ON IT OUT OF THE CAR.  I PICKED THIS CAR UP  SATURDAY MORNING. WHEN I GOT IT IT WAS JUST A FRAME AND FLOOR BOARD. I SPENT ALL WEEKEND PUTTING IT TOGETHER. LOCAL PICK UP ONLY NO SHIPPING.  NO TITLE BILL OF SALE  THANKS THE PERSON I GOT THIS CAR FROM HAS AROUND 50 VINTAGE CARS FOR SALE. Weekly Recap: Toyota propels hydrogen fuel cells

Toyota is serious about hydrogen fuel cells, and it wants the auto industry to follow suit. The Japanese automaker said this week it's releasing 5,680 fuel cell patents from around the world, including technologies used on its upcoming sedan, the 2016 Mirai. The move is unusual, but not unprecedented, as Tesla similarly released its electric vehicle patents last year. The idea for Tesla, and now for Toyota, is to spur development of alternative propulsion. "By eliminating traditional corporate boundaries, we can speed the development of new technologies and move into the future of mobility more quickly, effectively and economically," said Bob Carter, Toyota Motor Sales senior vice president of automotive operations, in a statement. Toyota's fuel cell patents will be free to use through 2020, though patents related to producing and selling hydrogen will remain open forever. Toyota said it would like companies that use its patents to share their own hydrogen patents, but won't require it. "What Toyota's doing is really a logical move, and really a good move for the industry," Devin Lindsay, principal powertrain analyst with IHS Automotive, told Autoblog. The announcement was made at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. It comes as Toyota prepares to launch the hydrogen-powered Mirai in a limited number late this year in California. The launch will be extended to the Northeastern United States next year. Toyota also has announced plans to support networks of fueling stations in each region to try to smooth consumer adoption. The Mirai has a 300-mile range on a tank of hydrogen, and it takes about five minutes to refill. Fuel cells have been receiving increased attention recently, and Audi and Volkswagen debuted hydrogen-powered cars at the 2014 Los Angeles Auto Show. Honda, another proponent of the technology, also showed its updated FCV concept in November in Japan. The company, however, has delayed its fuel cell sedan a year until 2016. Like Toyota, Honda says its hydrogen-powered car will have a range of 300 miles or more. Meanwhile, Hyundai currently offers leases for fuel-cell powered Tucsons, which have a 265-mile range, in Southern California. Despite the optimism some automakers have for fuel cells, the technology still faces barriers. A lack of filling stations has long held it back, and many consumers are not familiar with the potential benefits.

Ford tells Congress it collects and protects some driver data

Last month Ford's Jim Farley made waves at the CES when it was reported he told show attendees, "We have GPS in your car, so we know what you're doing. By the way, we don't supply that data to anyone." Farley and Ford later partially retracted and clarified that statement.
Spurred by a desire for further transparency on data collection policies, Ford representatives answered questions from Congress, specifically Senator Al Franken (D-Minn.), about driver privacy.
The Detroit News reports that Ford told Congress it does collect some vehicle location data in an effort to "troubleshoot and improve our products" on behalf of the driver. Ford went on to say that it only collects limited data after receiving permission from owners.

Ford and 'Dirty Jobs' pitchman Mike Rowe part ways [w/videos]

Former Dirty Jobs host Mike Rowe has one less job as of today - the pitchman is no longer a pitchman for Ford, with yesterday's announcement from Rowe ending a seven-year partnership between the TV host and the Blue Oval.
Rowe made the announcement to political pundit Glenn Beck, saying the two are "going in different directions" and wishing Ford "every possibly success that any car company could ever have," according to The Detroit News. Rowe and Ford got together in 2005, right around the time the 51-year-old came to prominence as the host of Dirty Jobs and the narrator for Deadliest Catch, two of the Discovery Channel's most popular shows.
