For sale 1962 ford galaxie 500 sunliner convertible with a rare factory 4speed trans. This car comes with a super running rebuilt by the previous owner 390 v8 330hp motor with a rebuilt 4barrel holly carb. This car really sceams down the road plenty of power the 4speed is a fun option it comes with a power top,and drivers remote mirror, no other power options manual steering and brakes but as far as iam concerned that's just fine I only bought it because it was a 4speed. Don't know the production of the 4speeds compaired to the auto but they have to be pretty scarce. The car was recently painted back in the original dark metallic ford blue with a complete new white top and two tone blue interior which looks nice. This car is not a show car just a nice driver restoration the chrome is nice but the bumpers could be replated to be really nice . Also front windshield has a star and wiper mark could use new door rubbers and trunk rubber also comes with a pair of fender skirts which are in the trunk I just don't care for the look but they go with the car .also I left the visors off one needs repaired . Comes with a new set of radials, 14 inch stock wheels and caps,also newly rebuilt generator and regulator.Has a nice dual exhaust system. Reflecting on the Ford GT on its 10-year anniversary
Thu, 10 Apr 2014Ten years ago, during the bright-eyed enthusiasm of the early 2000s and before the collective automotive industry did its best Titanic impression, we had the Ford GT. An everyman's supercar like there'd never been (remember, this was before 638-horsepower Corvettes were a thing), the GT arrived with a supercharged, 5.4-liter V8 that produced 550 horsepower and graced this retro-styled rocket with an easy, sub-four-second sprint to 60 miles per hour.
Equal to the GT's performance were its looks. Inspired by the GT40 racers that dominated Le Mans and bested Ferrari in the 1960s, the sleek, low, almost-reptilian look of the GT was the absolute pinnacle of the retro styling that so defined the early 2000s.
Crank and Piston put together a video celebrating the ten-year-old GT, arguing that Ford is a bit too busy with the next-gen Mustang, which turns 50 next week, to do it themselves. In the short clip, there is gratuitous engine noise and supercharger whine, not to mention scenes of the white-on-red GT prowling the deserts and streets of Dubai. Ford GT to be revived, Le Mans battle upcoming
Sun, 05 Oct 2014Ford dominated the 24 Hours of Le Mans from 1966 to 1969, scoring four consecutive wins. Wouldn't it be great if the Blue Oval could go back to France for the 50th anniversary of that performance and show it can still compete in international endurance racing? Actually, the latest rumors indicate that could be exactly the case, and the car taking that checkered flag could be another revival of the Ford GT.
As the rumblings go, Ford wants to use a new supercar to take another crack at Le Mans, after considering some other possible alternatives. Substantiating these musings are reports that a Blue Oval rep was reportedly on hand for a recent meeting about 2016 GTE-Class rules, according to Road and Track. That would put the new GT in the same racing class as the Corvette, Ferrari 458 Italia, Porsche 911 and others.
It's not all about racing, though. If you win on Sunday, you want something to be able to sell on Monday. The revived GT is reportedly still a mid-engine supercar, but the exact engine is unclear. It's possible that it could even be shown or announced at the Detroit auto show in January, according to Motor Trend.
